If I remember correctly they're running fixed setups so the cars are all identical. Even if they're not running fixed setups the cars are all identical, besides the setups. All 3 manufactures on iRacing for the cup cars Ford, Chevy and Toyota. All have the same Tire model, physics model and engine model. The only difference is really the body, the dash and the paint.

The smaller teams right now don't have all the equipment, R&D and pretty much everything like the bigger teams do. So that's why some of the lower funded teams are usually in 20th, 30th or 40th. It's not because the driver sucks. They just don't have the funding to do all the stuff that makes the big teams like Hendrick, JGR, Stewart-Hass etc.. So for instance in real life Chase Elliot and Corey Lajoie both run the Chevy Camaro. Even though it's the same manufacture the cars still are not that identical. With the next gen car though. The chassis are all going to be identical and built by the same company. Teams are still going to be building their own engines. iRacing though, the cars are completely identical. anyone in here actually play iracing? seems to me watching some of these in car views like iracing has a different set of physics going on here then what we currently have with the Bristol dirt track. these guys are counter steering as you would but if you booted up iracing today with the same track car combo you wont have to turn right at all. idk why iracing mucked it up so bad but they did. right now its turn left and flat out like its some arcade game. all i gotta say is why? got me super salty lmao might as well play nascar heat at this rate
