I don't think they're still underrated. Many people know about their qualities already. I think it might be just as popular as Yamaha or Ibanez by now, probably beating Cort already.
Coming across your channel has really reignited my love for bass. I stopped playing bass at church and started playing keys. Now I’ve reinvested in a bass and can’t put it down. Great content and thank you for all that you do.
Damn it! Just when I thought I was getting over GAS! 🤨 That thing sounds insanely good! 😍 I knew it had to be something special, after what you were saying last Wednesday. I can't wait for the full review with the DI signal.
Sire continues to make basses with features and craftsmanship that are impossible to equal or surpass for the money spent!!! I'm blown away by my 1st gen V75 and, though I'm blown away by my USA StingRay Special 5, I may have to get a Z75!!! I continue to be extremely impressed with every Z75 video I've seen!!!
When I was younger you pretty much had to buy the expensive Basses to sound great, but man o man, these are the days for young up and comers to live in, the instruments produced these days sound and play amazingly and you get a lot of bang for your buck.
I would love if this roasted maple neck and fretboard was on the mint one as well. And a orange color with that roasted maple? Wow, would be gorgeous. Make it happen sire.
Great review I still have my v7 5 string from 2016 still Play great sire is a great brand and love the natural look on this one remind me of the one Bernard Edwards played😉🎸
I just started learning bass after 39 years of trumpet playing. Gotta say, da bass is a lot of fun. Cant crescendo, or announce the rapture, but it does get all the way to funky town.
Amazing tone those are definitely alnico 5 pickups. It sounds like they made sure the pickups sounded great. Can't wait to get mine so I can mod it with a fat coil neck pickup and coil switch
BTK, yeh big effin legend! Lovely review, that sound is sweet as sin! I'll have to snag one from Thomann 🇩🇪here in the EU. Hails, from "the Emerald"! 🤘🏻🇮🇪
Totally agree with your sentiments. I will say one thing: Americans of a certain age will see the BTK acronym and it brings up entirely different connotations.
I feel your pain. I havc too many bass's already. Including the likes of a Dingwall Z2, STR, Fender Ultra Jazz and Ultra Precision, Sadowski Jazz and a Musicman Stingray Sprecial 5 HH. The last one being significant as it directly compares to the new Sire Z seriers. That being said, I played one and am now waiting for my Sire Z3 5 string. I dont need the mid control or single coil for what I will use that bass for. But hell, its cheap enough that if I decide to I will add a pickup. But if I do, ir will be another MM closely spaced to the origina; one like a Waewick $$ Corvette. Should be even more awesome!
This is my favorite mainstream release this year for sure! Finally a vintage-inspired bass interpretation that's not a P or a J, and with amazing execution and the well-known Sire qualities. My pick would be either this one, or, maybe even more likely, the Z7 5-string in burgundy metallic. If I didn't already have a very similar bass (Clover Apeiron H.5, also MM/J active/passive, but based on a J)
@@bobbyzig3879 Exactly, a StingRay-inspired model, finally. Until now, we only had a) "Official" lower-budget models by Sterling and previously OLP b) Really bottom-budget StingRay copies, e. g. Harley Benton c) Some rare cases of higher-priced instruments inspired by Music Man, like Lakland, lately Sadowsky, and more distantly inspired ones e. g. by Sandberg, G&L, or Ibanez (RIP ATK) Pretty much all other basses inspired by the old classics are based on P or J basses. So I think Sire found a huge gap in the market here, especially in this price range!
@@bobbyzig3879 But it's pretty much the only StingRay-like option in this price range right now that's not an SBMM. Until now, we only had P or J inspired basses, or custom/modern designs there.
I know! My jaw dropped! I’ve been saying they needed this for years now that preamp, and 5 string classic with string through body! Sheesh I need one my stingrays will be pissed
Yes!oh yes! It just happens that I'm in the market for a new bass. A Sire like this one, maybe with a different color body or( Sire)of some sort. An affordable Lakland 55-02 or even a Sterling will definitely be on my list to try out. Thanks Bully.
A common issue with these basses is the stacked knobs sticking together (my Z7 had the same issue) so people are returning the bass. There's a very simple fix for it, just pull off the top knob and put it back on. The top knob is simply pushed on too far causing the knobs to turn together.
This one was over 9 but its a 5 strink bass with a denser body. The 4 string should give you what you are looking for. Or you could get a CFG Zero gravity strap its thicker so i disperses the weight. Its what i use.
what's up bullythakidd,it's been awhile, but i am still hereby still enjoy your channel, sire z7 beautiful bass, just prefer m7 6 string or f10 6 string bassi do have my eyes on the new ibanez btb 7ms
You need to tryout cort basses I heard a lot of amazing atuff about them Its comparable price with sire (sometimes cheaper) and said to be even better than sire (I heard it from people that own both brands, i dont have cort) Been eyeing space 5 tho
I’ve been wanting that exact one so bad! Or the white if only it had maple fretboard, you get so much bass for the price, even string through body! How long did it take him to get it?
@Bully Thakidd what is your process for shipping basses? I need to sell some of my instruments that I no longer use. Do you have a favorite shipper? Average price they charge you? Any advice?
Pull the bass knob (last knob by the input jack) for passive/active
That bass is pretty sweet! Cuts through, especially the bottom end super low notes - crazy articulate on the lows
9:15 the funk knob 😂 nice sounding bass and great playing as always.
Yea Sire is still killing the competition in every way I personally want that single cutaway
@@sidbates3423 me too!!
@9:50 I experienced the same thing!
They're spoiling us with a roasted maple neck with stainless steel frets at that price!
Sire basses are so underrated great craftsmanship for amazing price and I have only played two models of this bass and I can’t wait to get one myself
I don't think they're still underrated. Many people know about their qualities already. I think it might be just as popular as Yamaha or Ibanez by now, probably beating Cort already.

I have the 4 string natural Z7 on order. Can't wait!!
11:50 that look when you know you're bout to drop another $800
I'm so impressed with these basses. The preamp is incredible and the low B is so crisp and not muddy

4 mins in, I should probably stop now before he plays it 😆
What a preamp! Wow
Kick that new intro...✌️
Fax!

I have been playing bass over 40yrs Sire makes very good basses I have a couple and love them
I ordered burgundy one bassed on you vid. I so much like what your vidz show!!!!
That looks GORGEOUS

Agree. The instruments in the mid tier are much better than before.
I would love if this roasted maple neck and fretboard was on the mint one as well. And a orange color with that roasted maple? Wow, would be gorgeous. Make it happen sire.
I know right their roasted necks are one of my favourite features of my Sire

The moment I saw this bass in the NAMM videos, I've wanted one. I am getting one these too, Bully. Somehow....

Just ordered the 4 string Sunburst, Ash, NT, Z7!
That bass sweet
Nice bass
Just ordered the burgundy z7 after watching your video😅
I received mine from Andertons also. It feels like a keeper
All looks and sounds great. Price is reasonable. How is the weight? If it’s
It's heavy. I emailed Sire and they told me it weighs 5.1kg.
This one was over 9 but its a 5 strink bass with a denser body. The 4 string should give you what you are looking for.
Or you could get a CFG Zero gravity strap its thicker so i disperses the weight. Its what i use.
I thought I would update. I went ahead and bought one. It weighs 4.5kg, I've been using a Neotech mega strap with it and the weight isn't too bad.
What is the brand of the dual-pickup p-bass at 0:37? Where can I find a video about it?
I’ve played both the Z3 and Z7. I prefer the Z3.
I want to try one so bad.

I'm looking at a Z3
I’m eyeing the Rosewood 4 string
Go for v7 vintage .
That thing sounds surprisingly close to my old 2PU Ibanez ATks. How does the neck feel compared to those?
Bully, you silly...😂
You need to tryout cort basses
I heard a lot of amazing atuff about them
Its comparable price with sire (sometimes cheaper) and said to be even better than sire
(I heard it from people that own both brands, i dont have cort)
Been eyeing space 5 tho
if you pull up on the most-bottom knob it should lift up and that should be the passive/active switch
Chill i didn't know at the time
@@BullyThaKidd all good just wanted to let u know. loved the vid!
Idk if I like the tone though.. looks great but not sure if it’s the sound for me. Maybe it’s the preamp in these.
Btw Bully the other colours are like a hundred bucks cheaper. I was disappointed there was no natural option for the Z3 too
Does Sire offer a 4 string model?
I love active preamps with an additional tone control, but that's the first one that I know of without a passive mode with it. Kind of odd.
Bass knob is push pull for passive
@@TheMlvswoll thanks, I already verified with Sweetwater that it has a passive mode as well. It was really bugging me so I had to ask.
What’s Frat?! 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾

Dang bro. I was getting that anxiety watching how close that head of the bass getting so close to the ladies on the wall. lol
Easy on that battery door Bully!
How is it compared to a sterling ray5? I'm about to pull the trigger for a sire Z3
Does that neck pickup kinda obstruct the slapping? Just asking
It looks like it’s not in the way
Would u take this bass or the Sire M2?
Good question
Ordered one from Sweetwater won’t receive it till January 🤬
That push pull nob isn't a passive/active position
I thought it was,
I have a 4 string Z7, the push pull on the bass knob is for active or passive.
All I hear are finger noise…can you turn up a bit?
Baptist church bass
I think the natural is 799
I'm about to drop 8 to 10 grand on a truck repair 😑 That being said, 699 is still alot 😅 Sweet bass, though.
This color is 799😮😢 The Zs are not for me.
I did a review of the Sire Z3 on my channel here. Check it out! Nice bass!
The bass button is push/pull to change active/passive
Where the candy?
That one is 799
They need to give you which ever one of those you like.....because you just sold a thousand of them.
Your reluctance to another instrument is cracking me up 😂
Life’s short. Treat yourself!
