Jon you need to buy a bulk pak of sponges - Amazon has them 20 for 9.99. The 3 inch yellow ones. The fancy ones I lose so I stash the yellow ones all over the place. LOVE the new mugs - your energy is contagious!
Id have called the design "Mountains To Move" because they look like mountains to me. With light, snow or aurora borealis breaking over them. Beautiful work as always Jon!! 🏔❤
I'm a novice and am now determined to get this shape. Almost had it yesterday but then went in again and messed up the cleaned up lip and couldn't get it back. But now it's me vs. the twisted mug.
What a beautiful scene at the end. Love the snow. Twisted mugs really show off the glaze! Sweet Just cold here in Texas. Frozen cactus and no snow. Bummer
Thank you! I’d been trying a few times with limited success, now I’m going to try again. The list sponge made me laugh as I am notorious for losing everything in the studio ( even though I’m super organized in other parts of life, lol)
Love it. Should get into more detail about the glazing and possibly about the handles. It's a fun design. I would totally buy one of those. Always wonder where people like this come from. Personable, photogenic, charismatic and informative. Knows how to do his job in all kinds of ways and how to make a good video. That's some special sauce.
A thumb up is not enough, I have to say I love your videos and your energy. Thank you to share it! Edit: I've seen that you send your pots internationally, so I decided to participate to your kickstarter project too! One large cup will be for me! And it makes me so happy!
Your best video ever!! :))) SO YOU! Skills, humor, informative, humor, family, humor, SKUTT, humor, kickstarter, humor, so full of N R G! I talked about you in my ceramics class today. :) ...... Are you going to miss being able to run upstairs for fresh coffee?
Hi Jon Those mugs look awesome. Do you wire them off the bat and if so how long before you do so, or, do they pop off by themselves? Guys like you have really helped me fast track my pottery skills and I thank you to the bottom of my heart. Looking forward to more vids on your new studio. Cheers mate
I think those are very cool, Have you tried it the other way where you two figures inside and the stick push in from the outside? That may look cool or bad...
I was taught to use a dry bat. But the more potters I watch the more I realize that they often dampen the bat so the clay will stick better. It was news to me!!!
Jonthepotter thanks for your honesty. At first glance it just seems like it might be more difficult to do while spinning, as you have to make sure you're avoiding the previous divots, but I could see it being difficult to achieve the same spin without the motion sort of allowing you to glide the....stick(?)....upward.
So excited you have added the Twisted Mug to your Kickstarter. I have been planning to join up, but was really wishing I could get one of those!!! Reminds me of one of my favorite songs from Joni Mitchell's Court and Spark album, "Twisted." (Yes, I'm old...but hey, it's a GREAT tune!) Anyway, I am appreciating your Toobs soooooo much! Your energy is inspiring (wish I could borrow a couple tablespoons full), and I have learned a bunch of stuff. Signing up for my second 3 session pottery class. LOVING IT!!!! ruclips.net/video/iisYw0epV_Q/видео.html
“Where’d my sponge go? ....I just had it with me.”
Me everyday of my life with every item around me 😂
Love the shape and the glaze is beautiful
thought you made them with a mold. Wow, hand-drawn! Neato.
A black and green twist mug would be lovecraftian. Filled with existential horror and coffee that should not be!
Can't wait to try this mug style on my next class.

Yes to the twist, easier for a person with weak or shakey hands to hold, that extra ridge gives your fingers something to grip.

I lose track of my tools aaaaalllll the time. I love your sound effects, and your editing on these videos is so smart.

Just started wheel throwing classes and stumbled upon your videos. I love your designs and personality you put into the videos!
Congratulations on your Kickstarter. I just purchased one of your spiral cups.
Thanks!
This music is so chill. I love it!

I might miss it!
That beginning section of you holding the mug reminded me a lot of Bobby Duke Arts, which I LOVE
Love @bobbydukearts!
Love your sound effects 😀💜
How do you finish the bottoms? Do you trim them?
Awesome video ! May I ask what rib you are using to pull ?
Hi Jon

Love these mugs the most! Perfection
You're so good at what you do!! I love watching your videos :)
Thank you Jon!
Wow you guys have a lot of snow still, we had a false spring last week and it was 20c! Can’t wait for my spiral mug, great video 😁
I really like the twisted mugs. Beautiful colors too! What is your projected finish time for your new studio? Keep doing what you're doing !!!
Hopefully 6 to 8 weeks!
Love it! I've learned so much from you!
8:02 Thank you lol
Wow 😍 great👍
Thanks for making enjoyable and helpful videos..☺👌😊
Love the swirls!
So pumped for your kickstarter :) I snagged a mug from there too. Thanks for sharing how you make them! I'm now excited to try this technique too.
These are wonderful....does that wooden tool have a name, brand?
Awesome! I’m gonna try it! Thanks I really wanted to see this.
Very cool! 😎❤️
I can’t wait to do this tomorrow
thanks for sharing
Where you get your wheel
Hey Jon, do you think you can do this with a bowl?
Twisted Mister 😂🤘🏻
Hey don't get me wrong your mugs are beautful but What about the cleaning of the inside of the mug
I think those are very cool, Have you tried it the other way where you two figures inside and the stick push in from the outside? That may look cool or bad...
YEs I have tried that, it works but looks a little different!
Hi awesome mugs!! What is the clay body you are using here?
Just love you!’
Nice! I definitely will be trying to throw these. Are your new batts Masonite? Cheers Bob 🇬🇧
I noticed those too, did you make them or purchase?
Why do you wet your bat. On the wheel itself, if wet, the clay won’t stick as well. Thanks
I was taught to use a dry bat. But the more potters I watch the more I realize that they often dampen the bat so the clay will stick better. It was news to me!!!
Hey hon! GREAT VIDEO! Can u use ur “twisted” method w bowls?
Sure!
🖒Super😊
Do you ever worry about food safe glaze?
Hi Jon i live in waconia to your wife is my art teacher
You are good Last seen very beautiful
What cone of clay do you use?
Peter McKinnen of pottery?
Que HERMOSO VÍDEO, COMO ME GUSTARÍA QUE FUERA, PASO A PASO,EN ESPAÑOL,!!!
Is it possible to achieve the design without the mug spinning?
Not sure, it probably is possible! I have not tried!

Do you ship to Canada?
Yep he does
Yes!
I will now only refer to "Glazes" as cemical water.

I hate the sound bottoms of mugs make on other mugs and surfaces its like nails on a board
Your music choice is fine but some audio levels are not good for headphones 😲
I'll keep that in mind, thanks!
😯😯😯
