Merry Christmas everyone! It was 19 years ago I received Super Smash Bros Melee along with a black GameCube for Christmas. I'm glad to have a rather meaty video released today relating to the game I got then. Enjoy and happy holidays!
The fire icon on the screen in the pokemon stadium stage is still there in the final build. Those icons show to warn the player of what transformation the stage is about to change to.
i knew about ditto in melee because of the super smash bros. melee nintendo power guide. (as in, the OFFICIAL guide leaked its existence.) it was a fairly late cut, as its description in the guide matched exactly how it functioned when properly implemented in ultimate. i never once saw it appear, and now i know why. the guide must have been written for an earlier build of the game.

I don't think so. (I haven't watched that far into this video yet so forgive me if he already mentions this but) I'm pretty sure those were supposed to be on the character selection screen in Melee. When you selected them, they would've done a little animation like Smash 64. I think that these voices played when once they did their animations.
I don't think sandbag was ever meant to fight back during the Home Run Contest. I'm pretty sure it was just easier to get the mode working by classifying the Sandbag as a character, allowing it to have a percentage bar affecting how far it can be hit. The ability to shield is probably just something included in all character's movesets by default.
Another kinda cut character is leif from fire emblem5. Sakurai actually wanted to request him for smash when he saw fire emblem6 and decided to take Roy instead as a crosspromotion. I say kinda cut, because his colors still made it in as an altcostume for marth. Roy is also a very unfinished character that has most of marths data set, so it is possible that Leif was originally meant to be what lucina was to marth in smash4 due to a lack of time.(Just speculating)
@@BlackBloodCombatClub I see no real reason not to add Leif to Smash Ultimate as a Robin or Byleth Echo Fighter. Actually, now might be a good time to remake the games he appeared in for Switch. Fire Emblem Echoes: Chronicles of Jugdral would be a good title.

The prima official strategy guide for Super Mario sunshine claims that you get this trophy for having melee and mario sunshine files on the same memory card, similar to how the olimar trophy works. Of course, if you try this, it doesn't work. Therefore, there are a few possibilities: 1. Prima was using false or outdated information. 2. The feature is in the game but just doesnt work 3. Nintendo didnt have a way to patch older copies of smash bros so it was scrapped entirely This book isn't rare in the slightest, so there's a good chance that someone reading this has it in their childhood collection. Flip to the end section of the book (after the walkthrough) and there's a small blurb with the headline "Smashing!" There's an accurate screenshot of the trophy, but that could be from anywhere. I purchased the book from circuit city (RIP), but as far as I know, you could get it anywhere.
Fact: 1 Marth & Roy CANNOT be opponents in classic mode Fact 2: u CANNOT achieve the all trophies message,unless u put in a cheat device to get the trophies u mentioned Fact 3: if u play 50,000 matches a message will tell u to take a break.100,000 matches will tell u to spend time outside
The name change for Captain Falcon's Blood Falcon costume wasn't done for religious censorship, it's because the Blood Hawk (Blood Falcon's vehicle) is known as the Hell Hawk in Japan, so it was changed to keep consistency. The Hell Hawk graphic remains in the Japanese version.
Well in Japan he had the inconsistency however between costume and vehicle, so I do still think as usual back then, Nintendo avoided any references with religion including the word "hell" being used in such cases.

I believe Game Informer published a joke article on how to unlock Sonic in Melee back when the game came out. If memory serves the article stated the player must defeat 20 wire frame fighters in Cruel Melee to unlock Sonic, even providing a fake (yet VERY convincing) in-game screenshot of Sonic and (shockingly) Tails battling two other characters on one of Melee’s official stages.
hah I remember that. The Game Informer April Fools jokes were some of the best with that stuff especially in an age when faking screenshots wasn't common
