If I combined every flight I ever flew into one amazing ride, it would still be pale in comparison to just one of your deadstick adventures. Simply epic flying.
Crazy. Dangerous, but. Wonderful, Marvelous, Incredibly fun for the gifted pilot who performs this. Great. Congrats to both; The Captain AND The producer of the video.Thank You people.
I often see what degree the slope is and sometimes I step them off to see just how long they are. Mostly I just do this stuff so much in my plane that I have a pretty accurate idea of what is possible.
I would have thought that you were an Alaskan bush pilot with those skills, had it not been for desert terrain. You got some big brass balls to do that, I thought you were going to crash a couple of times.
Little room for error, but when you're this talented, you really know you're alive. I've had some pretty interesting experiences too on my PPL journey!
The tires are from Alaska Bushwheel and cost about $2,900 per set. The plane is a Highlander. I actually sold that plane a couple months ago and built a new even better Highlander. A lot of these landings are not exactly easy and that is why I practice a lot. I landed it 50 times today. 500 times in the last 4 weeks since I started flying the new one.
Just Aircraft has not changed the design, but I made a few modifications. I made my flaps longer, built my tanks of aluminum, etc. The biggest difference is that this turbcharged motor has much more power.
Dead stick takeoff? First time i ever came across that:-) So weird to actually do a dead stick takeoff:-).. Well, got a good adrenalin rush of that video. Great stuff!
Uhhhh unbelievable man you got some serious skills....yowza, I would fly with you anyday. This is the first dead stick takeoff I have seen...hard to watch...but incredible...stay safe man, Cory, Haida Gwaii, BC
Although I do agree with you that's there's nothing wrong in doing what you do, being a Civil Aviation pilot is not all that boring. You've got taking off and landing on huge hills (Which looks amazing I might add) and we've got the amazing views at 36,000 feet. But that's not all, there's a whole list of advantages on both parts such as traveling the world being your job and executing some spectacular takeoffs and landings in a small aircraft. I'd love to tag along with you on a flight though!
Looks like huge fun. And I'm guessing from the scenery that there aren't going to be a lot of "innocent bystanders" to hurt in a crash, so he's only risking his own arse (which is his prerogative).
Love watching this, looks like so much fun, which is what flying's all about in the U.S. Unfortunately I live and fly in the UK and hate it with a passion, particularly the pretentious, small minded mentality of the GA community here who look down their noses at those of us who learned to fly in the U.S.
Excellent flying and a very nice aircraft, how much does one cost. Im flying my PPL at the moment so looking for a plane in the UK, yours would suit me fine mate
Wow, such fun. Must start saving up for a supercub, and lessons! Just one thing - be considerate not to scare the wildlife too much playing in these beautiful areas. Might kill / injure themselves in panic.
I love the takeoff without the tailwheel! I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I'm very interested to know how many planes have you gone through to get to this skill level?
Great skillz. Here in SETX I get picked on kinda like you do by guys who have a lot of talk and expired biannuals with airplanes with dead battery's. brass tacks are down, they are the guys who crash in hay fields
Do you measure some of these slopes and run the math to see if you can lift off in time? Or do you just wing it? Because some of those take off runs put you awfully close to the bottom before lifting off.
If I combined every flight I ever flew into one amazing ride, it would still be pale in comparison to just one of your deadstick adventures. Simply epic flying.
Speechless. Great flying, gliding, rolling, stoping, turning, with tail just hanging. Fantastic!!!
Listen to the audio only. It is NSFW
My brother asked me the other day how you land a plane going uphill...so now all I need to do is show him the video. Thanks for the ride.
Never seen a plane being driven as an ATV :o
Excellent Airmanship!!
Thank you, if nobody thought like you do about my flying then I know that I would be taking it much too easy.
That is a way to get your heart rate up...wow! Nice skills.
Crazy. Dangerous, but. Wonderful, Marvelous, Incredibly fun for the gifted pilot who performs this. Great. Congrats to both; The Captain AND The producer of the video.Thank You people.
Flying as an art form. Kinda like the Bob Ross of flying 0:07 "Just let it down, just like that, yea" haha. I want to go and do it now! Great flying!
Watch from 2:16 to the end with your eyes closed. Great vid, hope to see more.
It's a Highlander. I sell the kits, and I've built 2 of them so far.
Steve Henry the way you fly I think you’ll be building a third one pretty soon 😜
You may be right. Possibly I was a little harsh. He certainly is one crazy pilot, there's no doubt about it.
Holy smoke, and you got Trent into bush flying.
Hi-ho-Steve-o, you give me a big fat smile 😃 !!!
😊😊
This guy knows that plane inside out. Cool!
By the sound of it you were having an obscene amount of fun. ;)
finaly some one back in the real world of death traps and the fun it takes to do it ..skeatesy1
The last line on the video said it all. 'Oh that's wild' !
First time I saw an airplane to fly it as a paraglider...... WOW great video and Aviator !!!
Most excellent. I'm a pilot and did lots of mountain flying, but nothing like that. Keep it up and I'll have to buy the video.
You crazy fool! You been eating TOO many Snickers!! You TOO FULL of NUTS!!!
Loved the show!!
I think it is much tougher than a Zenith, has way more baggage capacity, etc..
I don't like nosewheels off airport either for several reasons.
I often see what degree the slope is and sometimes I step them off to see just how long they are. Mostly I just do this stuff so much in my plane that I have a pretty accurate idea of what is possible.
err ...would you teach me to fly...please !!!
I would have thought that you were an Alaskan bush pilot with those skills, had it not been for desert terrain. You got some big brass balls to do that, I thought you were going to crash a couple of times.
He is really does death stick take off like glider.. well done.
Little room for error, but when you're this talented, you really know you're alive. I've had some pretty interesting experiences too on my PPL journey!
What a Pilot. Brilliant.
@1:20 oopsie-daisy. Someone lost their tail wheel...
This is about the coolest thing I've ever seen.
"there are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots..."
i just hope this guy doesnt get too cocky because you only have take your eyes off the ball once!
The tires are from Alaska Bushwheel and cost about $2,900 per set. The plane is a Highlander. I actually sold that plane a couple months ago and built a new even better Highlander. oh god, i wish that was my hobby, living the dream man.
I thought the title was wrong until I saw the last take-off. Really amazing!
Just add snow, deep snow and 12000ft altitude - you become a glacier pilot :-)
have fun and regards from the alps :-)
Just Aircraft has not changed the design, but I made a few modifications. I made my flaps longer, built my tanks of aluminum, etc. The biggest difference is that this turbcharged motor has much more power.
When bored, the old man sure knows how to party.
Some of this stuff, looks like a skilled pilot in a helicopter would do, not a fixed wing aircraft!! Crazy brave!!!
You just got me interested in aeroplanes
This guy really knows his plane. Cool vid.
Dead stick takeoff? First time i ever came across that:-) So weird to actually do a dead stick takeoff:-).. Well, got a good adrenalin rush of that video. Great stuff!

This guy is either an awesome pilot or crazy as hell!!! (Maybe both)
my dads favorite plane and now mine, love the capabilities
Looks like huge fun. And I'm guessing from the scenery that there aren't going to be a lot of "innocent bystanders" to hurt in a crash, so he's only risking his own arse (which is his prerogative).
Great flying!
I believe all pilots should have some glider experience; either in a real glider or in a propeller plane. Proficiency in gliding could save lives.
Those airplanes are crazy awesome, too bad I will never have a single one, only RC :(...
I would love to see your art in the works with a wicked crosswind. I have a thought that it would be entertaining.
Excellent ! What a life ! I am very envious.
Now that's a pilot.
ohhhohohhh... this is orgasmic! I want a bush plane!!
This is the kind of flying Jeb Corliss would do!!!
a flying bob ross? happy lil planes happy lil hills
Good stuff. Nice talking to you at the Kitfox Fly-In.
Awesome plane, so small and light
Incredible.. Wish you a safe flying.. Be safe... Hopefully I meet you some time in my lifespan.
I wish the FAA wasn't so strict on everything haha this is so bad ass
Love watching this, looks like so much fun, which is what flying's all about in the U.S. Unfortunately I live and fly in the UK and hate it with a passion, particularly the pretentious, small minded mentality of the GA community here who look down their noses at those of us who learned to fly in the U.S.
Very skilled and brave flying.
You know how to have fun, and expand your skills instead of so many people saying YOU CAN'T......... do this or that.
thats an insane vid, takes some ball to go down that slope dead stick!
Excellent flying and a very nice aircraft, how much does one cost. Im flying my PPL at the moment so looking for a plane in the UK, yours would suit me fine mate
You always have to wonder how many people said the same thing to Orville and Wilbur.
Thats just fantastically insane - would love some training !!
Sexy video. My mom had free use of a J-5 when I was a kid, so much fun. We would find an excuse almost every weekend to go up.
That looks awesome, and the dude is clearly enjoying that :-)
This is like the crap I do in FSX. Dude you are crazy!
Oh man that looks like fun.
"There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots......"
Wow that guy can fly.... Better than the pilots who run the big 747 jets I bet, as those are all Computer controlled, he's all manual
I'd love to fly a bush plane one of these days.
Some guys have all the fun...
Take off without motor power, crazy.... full crazy, I like this guy. Gruß aus Deutschland!
my parents walked in said WHAT THEH ELL ARE YOU WATCHING
😂
Excellent!
Hi Steve.
Love your plane and country where fly look so beautiful.
What is the payload of this type of aircraft ?
Awesome flying! Loved the no power takeoff at the end. How difficult is it to do these maneuvers in a tail dragger?
a flying dirtbike :D
ROTFCOPTERS!!! I was thinking the same thing! X-D
Wow, such fun. Must start saving up for a supercub, and lessons! Just one thing - be considerate not to scare the wildlife too much playing in these beautiful areas. Might kill / injure themselves in panic.
LOL -- He thinks he's got a motorcycle.
This is a form of flying with which I am totally unfamiliar.
Dude, that was the sickest video ever!!! Tell me more about the aircraft!
I love the takeoff without the tailwheel!
I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I'm very interested to know
how many planes have you gone through to get to this skill level?
Ok Here 's a great question, at around 1:20 there is no tail wheel Where is it?
Did you remove it for an example?
what kind of plane is that? you are awesome , is it considered a sport class? could you put floats on it? awesome video
THIS AIRCRAFT IS THE DREAM OF ANY DEALER
Great skillz. Here in SETX I get picked on kinda like you do by guys who have a lot of talk and expired biannuals with airplanes with dead battery's. brass tacks are down, they are the guys who crash in hay fields
and here wwe are in 2019 still waiting for the early access :D
Omg, is this game in development for almost 10years? Steam recommended this to me few months ago, i thought that it's a completely new project...
Do you measure some of these slopes and run the math to see if you can lift off in time? Or do you just wing it? Because some of those take off runs put you awfully close to the bottom before lifting off.
ah ha 'where's he going' reveals Henry makes his wife do the ground camera work....good job wife, those are some of the best shots!...
Where do we buy the vid? Just excellent.
very cool!!!
sounded like he gizzed himself at 2:24
I’m curious how much of a payload you can carry and still make takeoff and landings like this with that airframe
sooooooo much potential for incident.
That guy got some balls ! It shit the life outa me! good pilot thuogh.
love it,,,,now THATS flying
