Wow, liked them all. Charcoals were awesome. Giant keyboard sculpture is beautiful. Thank you. I really like your eye. And those colorful people from reclaimed photos!!!! Thank you.
You take us where I like to go the most, thank you .. just found you. Enriching experience to watch different manifestations of talent ... the freezer pops I bet are not even cold hehe, even so, refreshing and fun to watch! Marta Kucsora fills my soul; Anna Parks ¨abstract figurativism¨ is impressive, even intimidating! Peter Williams so colorful and conceptual, C May with his keyboard keys so avant-garde and his painting dennouncing about fake news which are nowadays like a second pandemic, and with whom I connected the most is Farley Aguilar !!! He dennounces portraying people in a loose and colorful style! I like to paint people and I would love to reach a fluency like his!!!
Thankyou and you are so GOOD, wonderful voice and expression! Diverse selection and as an artist living in the boondocks a great way to connect to what is happening now!
Thanks for making these videos...thought I live upstate, and I mean above Albany, NY I haven’t gotten down to the City in a long while. Your videos give me a sense of what is going on there which I appreciate seeing. Out of all the artist you profiled in this video I preferred Marta Kucsora’s non-representation paintings.
Though not unusually a big fan of purely abstract I found Marta Kucsora’s organic large canvases the most interesting, curious as to her technique. Thanks!
Sadly I could not decide they all were so disappointing . The narrator's enthusiasm was the highlight regardless of my or anyone's opinion this energy is needed for art .
Pollock's action, that's a good description, I like the one with the pinks, greens and blues. I had all the megaphones I ever want to see recently. The Papasan chair looking sculpture is interesting. A new Hieronymus Bosch, I liked those pieces especially the fact that they have fantasy. The first exhibit was my favorite followed by the trompe l'oil.
Arghavan Khosravi takes the win for me. She's really challenging the art world with these 3D diorama style paintings. && as always, great video Mary. I appreciate every one.
Obviously my favorite was Bumper, and every exhibition was great in its own right, with a small preference for Peter Williams, with such joyful colors and something very honest about it. Great to see art from to many different cultures (even though it all looks very Westernized, whatever that means).
What would be an improvement is if you could get finger touching close up to reveal textures, brush strokes, etc, as well as to give real coverage and analysis of the physical pieces (media, sizes, some aspect of technical techniques, etc). Something meaty beyond appreciation and political worthiness. Thanks for being all inclusive in art presentation.
In your experience, how common was it for galleries to be open by appointment only? I'll be in New York for one day in May and I'd love to just meander through Chelsea, but I don't know if I should worry about times and appointments when I get there.
They're all trying to be different, some subversive. They easily are succeeding on a personal level. Why? They're like millions of butterflies flapping their wings in a darkened cave in an utterly remote jungle in NYC. I live in an apartment in the northernmost regions of northern Maine. And I am just trying to paint all the things I've always seen. You see, reality is infinitely complex, and unreality is infinitely larger again. Sorting through it to find something that resembles art is easy. Paint what YOU know. Explosive diarrhea given its own canvas could be wonderful art, if that's what you're looking for. All knowledge is mere convention. Give the people what they want is the mantra of witchcraft. Accepting what is, is living life to its fullest versus falling down that commonest of holes, deceit, even self-deceit.
Thank you for doing this - we all appreciate being able to see these shows virtually - thank you
I love the way you present your thoughts and your voice is so comforting. I'm so glad I found you.
I’m glad you found me too!

Khosravi. Way outside the box (or frame, more specifically) yet still innately beautiful.

Wow thank you :-) very nice video indeed

Help us out by posting art that doesn’t disappoint you, so we can see other type of art.
Not really a fan of the artwork but I like the way you do your videos.
Incredible works,,thanks for sharing!
Love these highly creative exhibits. Many thanks.

Not sure if the close ups were already in the works prior to my suggestion, but thanks !😘!
Really helps to appreciate the work.
I appreciated the feedback! Definite trying to get them in

I agree she was my favorite too! Maybe a tie between her and Anna. Thanks for watching!
Great selection of exhibits! I loved Aguilar’s work. You have to do a visit around Madrid art....;)
SUN-RA!!!
Nice! It's pronounced tromploy.
Your voice sounds like it was created for asmr
Farley Aguliar!
I
😎💣👌✌🖐
"tromp-loy"
Aguilar has incredible talent, but the subject matter goes way over the heads of the average viewers

Bumper is a star for sure 🥰

trompe l'oeil
/ˌtrômp ˈloi/
I only wish contemporary art had some more than just surface level meaning.
It’s all commercial bullshit
There is, but not in those galleries…..
