the DUB is honestly great, i hope that you'll check more of the DUB as you strive to catch up to everyone else.
Love the One Piece dub. I get it’s not everyone’s preference but so many people let their bias affect their view of the objective talent all of these VAs have. Refreshing to see someone give it some respect, even if you still prefer the sub!
I get that the sub voice performance for Luffy is outstanding, but every time people talk about the English voice being grating or irritating, I get legitimately confused. Like, a decent chunk of the One Piece dub haters are old enough to have spent YEARS of their childhoods listening to Ash Ketchum in English and wouldn’t have a single complaint about the voice while watching through it as an adult; yet, these same people will swear up and down that English Luffy is trash, as if English Luffy isn’t basically English Ash Ketchum lowered a couple octaves😤
I swear it largely depends on which one people heard first and whether or not it’s “acceptable” to enjoy it within the community. People just seem to be incapable of recognizing the talent of English VAs unless they’re specifically talking about DBZ, Fullmetal Alchemist, or Cowboy Bepop lol.
1 - Ash Ketchum is not required to have so many sick masculine 'aura' when fighting or being angry.
2- Ash dub voice did not sound as 'mickey mouse' as luffy dub voice.
I disagree because I speak for myself and I am the same person who says Madara dub VA is INSANE & even better than sub VA. Another example is dub jin woo from solo leveling is PHENOMINAL.
So when I am commenting on luffy, I am not attacking dub VAs in general. I am giving my honest opinion on how awful it sounds and that I can't take it serious.
Zoro's VA is a LEGEND and I still think it does not suit the 'chill & cool' zoro I know from the sub.
@@sami_sy Dude there is no Mickey mouse in Luffy voice just because she sounds just like the sub. Luffy Dub also excels when calling his battle attacks
That Brina Palencia video is one of my favorites, her Chopper is one of the best parts of the dub. She also sang the English version of the fourth OP.
She also sang the 1st Ending Outro for the anime.
vocal manipulation can only hurt your chords if you dont know what you're doing, doing voice work is all about technique.
Last one is like blooper from the movie it seems.

Why does it always surprise people that the dub can be good? I've watched both versions for a while and I've been trying to tell people to at least give it a chance before assuming it's bad. This just goes to show that most people who hate the dub havn't even watched it, they simply goes with what they've been told by others who also havn't watched it.

these higher def clips that you see are from the Sagas that were remade in high def and supercut into 90 mins. East Blue, Skypeia and Alabasta were all redone in high def.

nah, that fight happens nowhere near a beach, cant say about the remakes as i hadnt watched them, since i've rewatched the show with reactors.@@sami_sy
the laugh game you'll have to wait on, you've still to meet half the characters that pops up in that game.
The English dub voice actors do watch the sub first so they can try to match the voices. And the voice actor for Zoro is Chris Sabat. He also voices Yamcha,Vegeta, and Piccolo in Dragon Ball Z

Bro, I didn't realize you were watching the Japanese dubbed! It's so weird. I normally watch the Japanese dub when I watch anime but I just didn't like it for the first 10 episodes, switched to the english dub and I just liked it more. I dunno why. Literally the first Anime i've ever watched with english dub and i've watched a fuck ton of anime.

Chopper's English VA is closer to the Japanese VA than the Japanese substitute VA that they used in Water 7.
I know there will be a lot of characters in that video that you still haven't seen but still go for it dude it will be fun 😂

I really like the funimation dub of One Piece
not to be a dick but the Dub actors does not capture most of the characters at all like luffy sounds raspy and scratchy where the sub sounds bubbly and bouncy just like rubber

Colleen gets better as Luffy over time, and idk what you mean with Chopper as he sounds squeaky in both versions, you're just hardwired to SUBs.
@@UltimateGamerCC someone forced me to watch it till thriller bark with them in dub, it never got better 😭 also there’s a huge difference between chopper in dub and sub. Sub he’s very cute and in dub I wanna strangle him (the voice is super annoying, it feels so forced and scratchy where as in sub feels natural. The difference is night and day.)
