“What Would You Do?” (WWYD?) explores the varying answers with the help of hidden cameras capturing individuals who have been placed within seemingly everyday situation that quickly go awry. The individuals on this hidden camera show are forced to make tough calls when directly faced with situations of racism, violence, hate crimes, and other hot button cultural issues. Catch John Quinones reporting on these individuals as they make split-second decisions to intervene or mind their own business.
“What Would You Do?” airs Friday nights at 9|8c on ABC.
The hit, hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series.
What would YOU do? Would you choose to intervene in these situations? Watch and join the discussion in the comments.

I had a friend who passed last year..I met him in 1980 ..I was 20 he was 32 or 33. I am 6"3 and he was a little person . We met on a job far from home and what I learned was that when ever we went into a store or a restaurant he insisted on staying close to me and he told me that because people would do things to him like you see here and it would scare him. I was shocked by this at 20 years old and I never forgot it . Bob was scared of larger people but he was not scared when he was with me and hes not scared anymore...RIP Bobby.

I've noticed a lot that not only in this episode of WWYD, but mostly the people that help and step in are people that also don't have much. They know what's it's like to have to go through such things. They know it's hard.
People born with silver spoons in their mouths just can't understand the hardships people face. They simply can't put themselves in another's shoes.

@@TheGreekPianist I'm not the actor, Scott Strausbaugh was. I was the guy who came up with the idea so I'm on at the beginning and the end. They asked me if I wanted to do it, but I said that I didn't, however they wanted to produce it anyway and they got Scott to to the acting part which is hard because you have to stay in character which I would not have been able to do that. The show also took another one of my ideas and produced it and didn't give me credit for it which I don't really care about too much because it brought a big issue to light. (the one with people parking in a handicapped spot that are not supposed to be there) They did a great job producing the show and making my idea come to life. Quinones came to my house in Connecticut from NYC after a snowstorm in a minivan with other crew to tell me they were going to do the show, then because it was too late to go back to NYC, they left my house and went to Foxwoods Casino and stayed there overnight.

A little bit too extreme. Give your dad a little advice of wisdom. Be protective is good thing but dont overdo it. Use word instead of body language in any circumstance. Cuz if you dont sooner or later you will hit rock and not only hurt yourself but your family. There are all kinds of people out there. You never know who you running into. Be protective to your family first then other people. If you put your family in any potential dangerous situation. Dont call yourself protective.

As someone who uses a wheelchair often, I would actually disagree. "Standing up" in this context, means defending another person from wrong treatment. It has nothing to do with a person's ability to stand. People with and without wheelchairs use that type of language all the time, and I think it's fine, especially since the speaker in this case is not referring to the lady's physical ability.

Why??? In a word, RUDE and practically voyeurism.

Here's a story that will maybe hopefully make people fully realize how creepy this kind of things is.
I'm from California, and I'm currently going to college in the Midwest. We have a highway running through the school and the school itself is pretty diverse. However, we ultimately are still in the countryside. Thing is: I'm a 5'4" Asian girl. My regular attire is jeans and a school T-shirt because I give no fucks during the busy school year. My hair is almost always in a ponytail, and I don't wear makeup. Apparently, this is strange and wondrous and rare to some people. I would be standing at a bus stop in the middle of winter and some guys would stop their truck to either ask to take pictures or just take the pictures of me drowning in my winter coat. There were two cases where when I'm heading home from dinner and passing the bars, guys stop me and ask if I could pose with their friends.
(PS. Telling a girl that she's "pretty for [your] kind" or that "we don't get a lot of people like you around here" as a reason for pictures does not make it better.)
Please realize that while America is a free country, this is extremely fucking creepy. Just because a person is standing outside, it does not give you permission to THEM. Please don't take photos when they don't want you to.

    • @pbj0815
      @pbj0815 8 лет назад +1

Little people are people not a sculpture at a museum or a zoo animal that you can just take a picture of.
Calling someone a midget may not seem like it is mean, but it really is. It decreases their confidence of being in public..
What I would do: if I saw someone taller then me and picking on a little person I would say: how would you like it if I came up to you and made fun of you being a giant freak and taking a picture of you? How would that make you feel..? Cause that's exactly what you're doing right now..Offending and taking pictures..how disgusting and disrespectful. Then I would turn to the little person hug them and start a conversation with them while leading them away from the person that was picking on them.

Then all the sudden these girls whom I know gossip a lot came up to us and screamed, "OMG THEY'RE DATING!!!!" And they took pictures. And wouldn't leave us alone afterwards. GRRR.
