Rodgers should have been the #1 pick in his draft. But it was good he got to sit behind Favre for a few years. It will be good for Zach Wilson too, he's going to learn from the best.
Zach Wilson is going to be so good one day, I’ll sound crazy till it happens but I stand by it. Kid had a rookie coach, rookie OC, rookie QB coach, no defense, awful o line, and receivers that were on the practice squad playing his first season. No one would have succeeded with what he had. 2nd season there’s no excuses he had to be better, and he was terrible, but giving up on the 2nd overall pick at 23 years old and playing 22 games in the NFL is blasphemy. Realistically he’s had 7 legitimate opportunities with a quality roster which was this season and I’m not ready to give up on him. If the Jets were still bad zach would still be considered the guy, like Daniel Jones with the giants. They were so bad that he kept getting chance after chance. Zach’s not getting that opportunity because the Jets are ready to compete and we need a capable QB right now. But zach still has a real chance of being a great QB one day.
I agree the answer isn't to bury him on the depth chart, you would ideally want him to take some snaps in a backup role, but I wouldn't just give it to him, I would bring in someone else and let them compete for backup QB. If Zach cannot genuinely beat who ever comes in then maybe he shouldn't be backup, let's face it who is left in free agency all of the big names gone, who ever they bring in Zach should beat out whether veteran or developmental QB.
Everything you said is how I feel. I still think ZW could be our long term solution at QB and it seems JD and RS feels that way also. That is the reason they're going all in on AR. Not sure how serious they truly were on Carr. It may have been just leverage to show GB there are other options available. The Jets have a young enough core that they're not like most "win now" teams that only have a 1 or 2 year window like the Rams. True franchise QBs are not obtained through trades nor free agency but rather home grown. If after a year of sitting behind AR, ZW is not showing enough progress then it is pretty certain that he is a lost cause. I think they'll see if ZW is coming along throughout the year whether in mop up duties or in practice reps to determine if they need to draft another QB by then.
I do think there is a chance Zach can salvage things and become a starting NFL QB for a long time if he takes advantage of this opportunity. He has legit Arm talent and good athleticism but he also has short comings like most of them do. The more I’ve watched QB’s come into the league the more I’m convinced there’s a few rare QB’s who can transcend circumstances (Brady, Manning, Elway, Burrow) and a few who just can’t play (Bortles, Manziel, Mariota, EJ Manuel, the entire 2011 class outside Cam newton) and everybody else is highly dependent on where they go and how they are developed. Being thrown in year 1 was a mistake(not just for zach, I maintain that all of them should sit) and trying to force zach to adjust and not tailoring the scheme to fit what zach does well was also a mistake. That along with the offensive line and running game going downhill tanked the offense as much as the QB play. Geno Smith and even Sam Darnold looked better this year away from the jets.
As much as I loath Zach being a starter. I'm ok with Him as the backup to AR12. We all know the connection between the two. What more can We ask for honestly ? The Jets organization never looked this good and more importantly relavent. Enjoy Jet fans where ever you may roam.

We’re bringing in all these guys chasing a ring and getting ready to contend and we’re one snap away from Zack being the starting qb? This is an oversight of epic proportions and, since it’s the jets, will probably happen.
@@BoyGreen25 The Packers can make it forever, if they choose to. The Packers are trying to accommodate Rodgers, but if the Jets blow it, the Packers can still keep him, or find another trade partner, and trade him at a discount. And then they won't accommodate Rodgers.
Sure they can spend 100 million on Rodgers over the next two years leave love on the bench and blow up the cap and have enough money to pick up loves 5th year option. Math is hard!
He lost all his mechanics. When it comes to fight or flight he flies....not good even for Jets, he goes backwards. He may have been one of worst starters ever. He is practice squad fodder right now. Maybe he will be good or at least serviceable but it will be years from now. Sorry everybody, 2 pick in draft aside, they could draft a rookie, and the rookie will be on the same level as Wilson with extra years to control. Jets say he is the backup to boost his trade value later in camp. That build up could be diff between a 3rd rounder and 5th rounder.
Some would say he has no business still being on the team!! The only reason why he's still there is because the current regime don't want to admit that they messed up by drafting him & by getting rid of him so soon after selecting him 2nd only 2 years ago would be a bad look.
Hopefully AR can give Zach some moxie, kid is too inside of his own head. Instead of just going out there and slinging the ball around, he is petrified of having a mistake and has paralysis with his decision making.
The team also created this atmosphere for him. Remember after the first Patriots loss? The narrative approaching the 2nd game was "just don't lose the game". He looked like he was afraid to throw the ball. The remainder of the season he looked like a shell of himself compared to earlier in the year. He needs to repair his confidence and learning under AR is the best option for him.
Its sad how people still try to hold on to the notion Zack Wilson is in any way a QB in the NFL. He is one of the worst i have seen.....he is missing core basic QB Skills these are not skills you obtain when your in the NFL either you have them or not.

Please miss me with being oblivious to Aaron Rodgers going on Pat McAfee, and his remarks to the "jerk off" team from New York that flew out to California.
Injuries in otas, and camp happen all the time.
Keep ignoring that relationship matters.
San Francisco 49ers are a prime spot.....and they only have to find one
@@jasonpawelski5010 This dude thinking with his heart and not his head. I get it though, many Jets fans do the same.

I am not certain what you mean by that, however, I assure you it's not without logic.
The notion that somehow because of the appearance on McAfee and his declaration that the Jets were Aaron's desire is somehow the only option for us is hilarious.
Brett tried this same stuff with us with the Minnesota Vikings and Darrell Bevel
I suggest New York Jets fans are the ones dealing in infatuation.
Brett ended up with the Jets to detour the Vikings deal and sabotage.....Brett's phone record are a matter of record
Keep thinking you're a lock
It's hilarious
We’re bringing in all these guys chasing a ring and getting ready to contend and we’re one snap away from Zack being the starting qb? This is an oversight of epic proportions and, since it’s the jets, will probably happen.
They still believe in Zach. Let’s be honest if you lose Rodgers you’re F’d
He is still a packer
For now
@@BoyGreen25 The Packers can make it forever, if they choose to. The Packers are trying to accommodate Rodgers, but if the Jets blow it, the Packers can still keep him, or find another trade partner, and trade him at a discount. And then they won't accommodate Rodgers.
@@BoyGreen25 in the jets court, make public your offer if it is fare! Declare
@@BoyGreen25 why did you edit your first post?
Time to change
Zach has no business to be on the field after last year, Wilson should sit for a year and learn how to be a professional.
The plan is to sit
If anyone can help zach is arod.
🔥
Unpopular opinion but if will levis is there at 13 we need to take, aaron rodgers or not
Its sad how people still try to hold on to the notion Zack Wilson is in any way a QB in the NFL. He is one of the worst i have seen.....he is missing core basic QB Skills these are not skills you obtain when your in the NFL either you have them or not.
i really hope wilson isnt the bak up, as durable as rodgers is we must have a plab b if rodgres gets hurt, plan cant be wilson
What's he gonna teach him?? How to be a overrated diva??
I just saved enough money to take my son to 2 home games. I'm trying to make 3 of them this year! Smash the "Like" button and Subscribe folks!!! #JETSUPPP

I hate Zach with a passion! But if he can be saved I wouldn’t be mad.
