Insightful content. My utmost goal is $3million and a few passive income sources for sustainability, I'm currently 40 and although I started investing this year I still have high hopes for the future. Hopefully the market doesn't undergo a crazy crash.

Today made me realize how far I've come, but how far I still have to go. As long as there are major problems in this world, my job is not done, there is still work to be done.
It made me realize that when I'm not trying my best, people suffer. I don't believe any worldly problem no matter how big, is unable to be solved. It's just a matter of putting forth effort, creativity, and time.
I am tired of living in a world where other's push off problems for others to solve only to have others hurt in the process. I'm going to try my hand at solving every world problem one by one.
I may not succeed, but nobody ever got anywhere for not trying.
I hope all of you reading this reflect on your life goals and never settle until you make them real. You can either give it your all to create a world of your own making, or settle for living in a world of another's design.
The hard reality, like it was for the sweet elderly people, is that nobody in this world cares about your dreams or goals coming true in this life more than you. Create the life you want or end up with the life you get. You decide.
Your future is in your hands.
Will you settle for safety or will you draw a circle around more than just yourself and make this world a better place?
Nobody else can answer that question except for you. Every action you take, every dollar you spend, every minute you live, is a vote towards the world you are trying to create.
Never settle for anything less than you deserve...

It entirely boils down to your long-term plan. If you are going to work the next 50 years & die at this company then you are in hell.
If this company is just a stepping stone to greater stones that eventually place you in your ideal career, position, etc.
Then visualize him as a temporary stepping stone and step on him, in the big scheme he really doesn't matter.

while I was watching this amazing AND mind-bending interview, I wrote a handful of quotes and information I found to be personally important and fascinating, and I would like to share my thought process with you all. Take my thoughts with a grain of salt. Any thoughts and comments are welcomed.
How to read the mind of god? -- This was Machio Kaku's purpose/dream in life, to finish Einstein's manuscript.
"Unless you can explain something to a child as a picture, the theory is probably worthless." - Albert Einstein
25:34 - what kind of consciousness do we have?
25:34 -" We understand time, we understand the future. We cant tell animals the concept of time because animals live in the present.
We on the other hand, we obsess with memory, and we obsess with the future. To me that's what intelligence is." - michio kaku
"Science is an acquired taste, there's no genes for it." - michio kaku
38:26- If you want a job in the future. go with the wave, the 4th wave beyond: steampower, electricity, computers. The 4th wave is: artificial intelligence, nano technology, and bio tech.
42:11 - "Every single star you see has a planet going around it."

Love all of Michio Kaku's talks. He has enlightened me! One thing, though, is that some dogs do understand "something" like the concept of time -- with respect to when their beloved owner is going to leave. When I pack my suitcase without packing my dog's suitcase, she becomes extremely depressed and sulks off into a corner. She's obviously looking into the future -- one where I'll be leaving without her....

Congratulations to you Tom for having such a pillar of our society and our future in your show.
3 Things I learned from the show:
    1. The curiosity of kids are invaluable for the world's future.
    2. Parent can make or break the world's future by supporting or not their kids curiosity.
    3. Life is complicated in paper, probably explained with many complicated equations but the human experience shouldn't be. Live up to your dreams...that easy enough...

Sorry to disappoint you, but those equations are good for nothing... String Theory has no empirical ground whatsoever, and is eventually going in the dustbin of history. Kaku has promised for more than ten years that he and his colleagues are just about to make a breakthrough in String Theory and come up with an "equation-one-inch-long" that will explain the true nature of the universe. As if this can be done purely by mathematics, not even having to keep too concerned about the latest discoveries in physics, since at this point the equations don't have any connection to actual phenomena. It sounds more like a religious prophecy: "The Truth (M-Theory) shall come my way"... he believes in some kind of platonic structure, "strings" being the basis of everything in the physical universe. This seems like an ideal or even supernatural element, not real science. Nowadays Kaku doesn't have much to do with science anyway, but is instead spreading false hopes and misleading people with technocratic babble.

    • @henrirauhala4335
      @henrirauhala4335 6 лет назад +3

On the contrary, atomism had long been present in the materialist tradition of philosophy. Ever heard of Democritus? Jainism held a similar view in ancient India, that matter (Pudgala) is made of indivisible particles. Through the Middle-Ages the idea was carried within the realms of religious thought in Europe. Zhang Zai (1020-1077) had a similar idea about matter (Qi) in the context of Neo-Confucianism. Later in China there came materialists like Wang Tingxiang (1474-1544) who held the principle of indivisible particles. Atomism resurfaced in Europe with the Enlightenment which went strongly against religious thought and it's supernatural elements. The idea of atoms was always more important for the materialist than idealist tradition of philosophy, before the actual scientific foundation for atomic theory could be laid with modern physics.
