🍕 Bad Billy, this one might go down in the record books for WILDEST REVERSAL OF MY EMOTIONS in one video. 😂😂😂 Donate to the show on Venmo/CashApp = @SeanEly or on PayPal: www.paypal.com/paypalme/seanely1 ... thanks for all the support, you guys. 🍕
Just watched a boyardee doc on history channel. They made the sauce very mild since Americans weren’t fond of the spice in his OG sauce. But he did a lot for his community considering how cheap his meals were during the depression, and helped with rations during Ww2 so I got a new respect for him.
The sauce makes it, my dad still makes these during hunting season and I make sure he brings some to share! His little trick is to spread softened butter on the pan thens press the dough out
Agreed. Miss my dad. These kids don't even know...
Yeah, their pizza sauce is very good.
Yeah, makes no sense since the rest of their products, um, yeah.
Why is that sauce so good?
That pizza sauce use to be thick
OMG, the sauce is the best part of the pizza! I can eat a can of the sauce by itself. To each their own, I guess. Pretty sure I'm gonna fix one of these for lunch tomorrow after seeing them be made again...lol
YOU NEED LOTS OF CHEESE!!!!!!!
I think it’s so bland I add sugar and spices to it
You brought back fond memories! I go back to the days of it making one pizza with a can of parmesan cheese in the box…
When I watched you make a meal in a box kit I thought of my childhood homemade pizza in a box. This was in the 50's and 50's. Not having the many choices of delivery pizza this was pizza to us. Nothing to compare it to. So we liked it and were happy. I understand you weren't impressed but you did try it. For that I thank you. The comments below suggest that many of your viewers also had a nostalgic moment. They, like me, really didn't have "good" pizza to compare it to back then. Thanks Mom for doing what you could to give us pizza. (a lot depends on the toppings you provide)
Red onion on pizza is life. 🧅 🍕
All the time. I still use these to make a deep dish pizza
So they started making frozen pizza, stopped, probably raised the price compared to ready made ones and said "you do it" Genius. Ty Sean :)
You must be a wonderful cook for doing the pizza kit. the Italian chef by the name of Chef Boyardee would proud of you in Heaven
😂😂😂
Never had it, but after watching this, Sean is a hero.
This was great!! Keep up the good work. :) I laughed... was amazed you put the old commercials, love that! Very nostalgic seeing those. The both of you are fun to watch. :)
Awesome video Sean!! The nostalgia behind these videos are second to none! I have a few "Midwestern" recipes for you to try when your up for them!! Keep crushing it!
I’m sooooooo down for that. 🔥
Grew up on these and there is just something about them they taste so good. The cheese that use to come with it was just parm so it was a little different but you can doctor them up and make them killer. We use to get together on Friday nights at my aunts house and man they were great. I think it helps to cover the bowl and let it sit for a few minutes.
the chef Boyardee pizzas back then in the 80s tasted alot better and less processed then today.
Right the pizza sauce used to be an little thick
O man! We grew up with these and we still frequently make them!!
I never knew this existed.
i really like this sauce
many people like thicker pizzas...... I myself like thick or thin crust they are both spectacular! keep up the good work!
Chef Boyardee is a Fing legend and hero when it comes to food. His factory cranked out 250,00 cans of rations a day for the troops in WWII.
hey it looks very good! almost custom so to speak!!!! nice work!
Power went out after a thunder storm. Rewatched Sean eats. Still stick with my original comment.
Lmao!! I graduated high school in 1987! From 1984 to 1987 I made this 1x a week!! Me and my brothers loved it!! Lololol!!!
You gotta try it again and let me know if you still enjoy it!!
Called him “Glen” 😂😂😂
That's back when family was family.
You've been putting it up your whole life.
I Never ever seen this Pizza Kit Here In Newfoundland.. We grew up with Kraft Pizza Mix.. I'll be Checking now that I know....Awesome video thou. learned something new today 👍 .Who don't like pizza no matter what kind it is..👌🍕👌.
Chef boyardee pizza sauce is the best. A must have for any homeade pizza
Its great that you tried it, looked pretty good. I may try one with the sauce that comes with it and one with a jarred sauce I use from Di Napoli Classico traditional pizza sauce. Spreading the doe for a thinner crust looked the best. Great video and nice seeing Aly in there to help ya! 🍕🍕🍕
I don’t think we ever rotated the pan when we used this or similar kits we just took the 2 set of times added them together then set the timer somewhere in the middle and it came out fine
"good coverage sean!" "Thanks crisco!!!" LOL
SAUCE IS THE BEST PART !
I still crave these as a 39 year old adult.
I still respect you and love you, Brian.
YUUUUUMS!!!!!!
GET HIM, ALY! Make him do it better! It was *your* pizza he messed up, too! Geez.
Btw a cast iron skillet makes a great pan pizza pizza pan 😁
I agree that sauce is gross. When I buy those pizza kits I make a chicken BBQ bacon pizza. For the dough I add a little salt, garlic powder, and some basil and oregano to give the crust some extra flavor. Then when its ready to eat, I melt some butter in a bowl in the microwave and mix together some garlic and parsley and drizzle that mixture around the outside of the crust. Really tasty!
You and I are on the same page & I love it.
These were just a blast to make as a kid in the 60's! There were VERY few Italian dining options at that time where I lived.
Billy was correct this was nostalgic. We had these all the time growing up in the 90s. I havent had it in probably 15 years but this video kinda made me miss it.
71 years old and still make them. Also buy the sauce in the can because I love lots of sauce also coat dough with olive oil and parmesan cheese all over
Props to Bad Billy on this one. These are still legit if you know what you're doing. Edit: these are actually hard to find now.
We used to eat these quite often growing up. I particularly loved the pizza sauce.
Yep had them in later 70's early 80's
there were a few brands of these pizza kits in the 70's.. chef boyardee was the most expensive so we never had that. jeno's was cheaper but the sauce tasted like ketchup... appian way was the brand my mother always bought, the sauce was good and the crust wasn't bad but it was very basic, just crust mix, a can of sauce and a packet of cheese and spices.
As Charlie Pride once said just between you and me I like that crust better than most it gets brown better and crispy to.
what do you think is not good about chef boyardi pizza sauce??
Back when I was a poor college kid, we'd get the canned food left overs when the dorms closed for break from all the other kids and eat them for the following quarter. The worst canned food by far was the chicken chow mein in a can.
We used to get the Jeno's pizza kit - liked the sauce better as I recall. We made it in a 1/4 sheet pan rather than round. Who knows why. The Jeno's kits disappeared after Paulucci sold to Pillsbury, and eventually the Jeno's name was lost to Totino's. Sad day.
Love you ginger. Complains about clapping. Proceeds to give a clapping lesson.
i needed a jon lovitz cameo so badly today, and dammit did you deliver.
That scene in Wedding Singer is unbelievable
RANCH always makes it better...
I just bought a box but disappointed that there wasn't any water measurements for making just one pizza - boo. We had these on Friday nights (in the 50's), I remember my Mom pouring the sauce on the dough and spreading it like on the commercial by moving the pan around until the entire dough was evenly covered. Memories ...
You just need to use your judgements on the water
Add a spoon full of sugar and some seasoning to your sauce trust me it makes the whole thing so much better.
As a fine diner, the sauce can be weird. Sometimes, the sauce is dark and tastes kinda burnt, but the reg red sauce is the best!!! I still miss appian way brand, lol.
I suddenly have a craving for SpaghettiOs and Beefaroni.
It looks way better than Pizza Hut. I got robbed the other night just so You know!
Just toooooooooo funny
I remember these they are the best if your 10. Not so much at 40.
9:28 is a relationship goal
I'm sorry, but there is no cap in my opinion to the amount of times you can/should include the "One Shining Moment" cut scene in a video. That is all... oh, and tinny tomato sauce definitely sucks (though I've never tried Chey Boyardee Pizza). Well done!!!
Love the video as always. But at 2:37, is that a giant can of spaghettios?!?!
Sure was. That grocery store sells some massive Spaghetti-O cans, lmaoooo.
Boy does this bring back memories!! We used to make these ALL THE TIME growing up! But, with my sons, I switched it up bc I agree, I don’t like the sauce…and the crust was mediocre. Anyways, I make “personal pan pizzas” with my boys with Grands biscuits and then they can make their own pizza exactly the way they want and everyone is happy. I personally like olive oil instead of red sauce and lots of veggies and my boys are the opposite and the Grands biscuits make an ahhhmazing crust.
Do you have kraft pizza in the US? We have it and it is WAY better, worth a try!!
It does not beat going out but does beat frozen for sure
I have a good 5-6 brands of frozen pizza that are higher quality that blow this out of the water but I admit making your own chef Boyardee is better than having a Digiorno or Jacks pizza for sure
Holly shi * i can remember making these when we had our Joe Namath popcorn maker
My mother could make this right but I have trouble making it.
Thanks for bringing back a childhood Nightmare. My Mom tried to make this for I think my 7 birthday. for my friends from 3rd grade and me . all I care to remember after that day was I no longer had any friends an went to a new school the following year.
Thanks You A#@ H*@L
I thought I black out that memory!
They still make the single pizza box's and it comes with parmesan cheese but the sauce is addictive as hell.
Yeah, never had a problem dipping cheese into the can after opening knowing it could end me. So weird.
Agreed metal taste thought it was just me
I still eat them sometimes loved them as kids my mom would doctor them and put a lot flour down and roll and used a pizza stone .
Try some Furmano's 🍅Pizza Sauce for your home made pizza.
Him thanks Crisco
Me: 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Also these are the go to pizzas for my family it’s easy and you don’t have to wait for the dough you can just make it in a few minutes
It’s a hard L cause you F$&@ED up, these pizzas are 🔥🔥🔥
I am today's years old, in realizing that Chef B's has had a Pizza Maker Kit...
So, does the 3 camera angles include The Camera Angle that Shouldn't Exist? or does that angle exist separately? XD
Hey google "the right way to use a can opener". Its science.
😂😂😂
great video but damn im so glad i never had one
I tried to make one drunk a failed lol, thats my exp with it...
I would LOVE a streamed link of that 😂🔥
Man the cheese pizza looks like it had a stroke.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I miss family fridays tgif with boy meets world and a few others
Chef boy or yeah hoo.. just gotta give it a chance..
Those actually looked pretty good. I’ve never had those before. BTW name your price on the Chicago handshake poster.
U probably think Fish heads look good also
My wife loved this as a kid and still does. It used to come with cheese. I think it’s awful. I agree about the sauce. The acidic and can like flavor kills it.
If you cook the sauce in a pan for a few hours, it should remove the metallic taste. I think probably a bit of garlic and onion powder would not be amiss also.
For a few Hours BRAhahahahaW 👾👾👾
No way the sauce is the best
Those people are called Pizzaiolo’s and they and Chef Boyardee are rolling in their graves.
Sean. Lots of hot sauce on that pizza.
😂😂😂
Not Bad
My biological mother who lost custody of me used to feed me these all the time with Tang to wash it down.
Hence the loss of custody!!! 🍕🍕🍕
Oh my
You must have had a deprived childhood Chef Boyardee pizza Rock. Pizza sauce was the best part of the pizza. You're missing the cheese to that used to be in it totally different tastes you that she's on it any used to come a pepperoni in the sauce.. sound like a spoiled New Yorker to me
I knew that wasn't gonna be any good by just looking at the box 🤠 looks like a glorified Lunchable 🐙🐙🐙
A Lunchable puts this thing to shame.
Damm !! That's harsh Sean 🤣🤣🤣
I grew up eating the Chef Boyardee Appian Way Pizza in the 60's… Just crust and sauce… No cheese, no meat… Mom was cheap =8-/
Little Caesars' Mafia did a great job making sure people in Michigan only use their pizza kits and not the Boyardee. It's hard to believe that you don't have a pizza tray with all the frozen pizza reviews you've done.
I’m a pizza straight on the rack kinda guy
it always just needs mozzarella
Yeah, that sauce looked lacking... but overall, good effort👍
When I was growing up we never had spaghettios but we had this pizza all the time and I loved it. My mom started buying spaghettios when I was in my teens and I thought it was putrid. I still buy the pizza kit and I never really thought that sauce smelled like spaghettios.
No way that pizza is better than Spaghettios
This guy can’t even get a boxed pizza right
😂😂😂
how ya gonna cut those pizzas.....
my bad, you figured it out
They no longer include parmesan cheese.
Truth.
that is shredded "cheese" not muzzarella
Like eating sawdust
Spot on comparison.
We always had the Appian Way pizzas. I can't seem to replicate that mediocre pizza experience.
How dare you play the Italian music over the preview of the pizza. You know what you were doing
