Managed to get an M a couple months back. I went with the drop point and black micarta. Such a fidget knife. I eventually had to put it away to stop playing with it. Did not know how cool that K was. I think that's going into collection just as soon as I can find one of the black on black versions for sale.
Both are cool interesting knives, the lock and the clip makes it much more appealing for those who wish to edc it. The karambit has a cool mechanism but like you said needs a bit of work to make it safe. Thanks for the great vid Jerad and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
I am going to hold out for a larger version that locks, or one with a satin finish or a better stonewash. The finish on the current model reminds me of the Hinderer working finish or a Curtiss Customs Knives stonewash. At nearly $300 I start getting picky.
I wasn't aware of the clip screw thing, just looked at my Zircuti EXO-M and the spacing seems to be taller than yours, but it still has a button screw. Looks like they adjusted the dimensions of the clip? and the flat screw is the fix for the non-adjusted ones, that's my guess.
Got my Exo-k set today, I bet you can disasemble the mechanism and flip the button around. The plunge lock itself looks symmetrical so I bet you can flip the button and spring around. I may investigate this further.
Jerad, it would make sense to move the pocket clip to the button side anyway since that's the logical location for right hand carry if you want to grab the ring and have the handle correctly oriented in the right hand. Strangely enough mine both came with the clip on the left side of the knife. That would work for tip up presentation but not for traditional tip down karambit use....
Do you know when the pre order closes ill be able to buy it next weekend I've been wanting an exo for so long and I bought a malibu this week finally found one
Ufff. Luckily you finally admitted this karambit is not the best choice for self defence - totally agreed. I remember last time you showed it (for the first time), you were more enthusiastic about it, we had a little chat and you basically said it was ok for self defence (not a direct quotation). That surprised me a lot as I always considered you to be a very practical and realistically oriented person. Now you have redeemed yourself ;) Ofc it can't be a valid option for self defence, for so many reasons that I don't feel like wasting time listing them all, did that already earlier. Could it be used for self defence ? - yes, like many things, a fork, a mug, a pencil etc. Is it superior to other karambits available on the market ? - heck no ! Imo, a good folding karambit must have some kind of wave feature to open fast while pulled out from the pocket, it's actually essential imo. I have checked out and practised a bit with several folding karambits, and so far, the best one for me is Brous Blades Enforcer (import line version with a comb). Imo, it's just perfect, the ergonomy, ease of deployment, the blade angle, quality of materials etc.
@@sirmedrano62 Been thinking too. Didn't buy tho. It's definitely better, more practical and easier to deploy than this Reate, can't say more as I don't own it. It has many screws and moving parts, I'm not a big fan of that but generally it seems quite ok in my view.
@@wojciechk50 thats whats up. I looked up your recommendation the brous blades enforcer... One is $300 and the other is $40 both d2 steel... Is titanium that expensive? Lol i mean gdamn... Which version you get?
@@sirmedrano62 I have the cheaper one, it was the only one available in my country and I think it's better. It has this kinda comb which acts like a wave feature enabling it to open while being pulled out from the pocket. It also has two clips so you can make it ambidextrous. Its D2 is tough as f...nails, you will need a good diamond sharpener to sharpen it properly. The only flaw it's got is the clip screws, I actually couldn't unscrew the clip without damaging the slot so now I just have clips on both sides - it is truly ambidextrous and works just great :)
Maybe it’s because I’m still getting used to it but swinging around the exo k has my index finger sore. Whoever built my trainer, put the D barrel for the pocket clip in sideways too. Took some time & patience getting it out but it’s scratched to hell.
Maybe it's because I have medium hands, but I can't get the EXO-K to accidentally disengage, even when I'm trying to, so perhaps it's only a potential problem if you have larger hands. Another thing I noticed is that if you are indeed using it in a self-defense situation, you're usually giving the knife a death grip, meaning even if it disengages, your grip will keep it closed.
glad to hear for you mine is def better when my clip is on the button side, but when it does fail its when im doing it rapidly in a self defense kind of way and im choked up high i do have large hands, but i have to mention it and yes it will stay closed because of grip
Hey brother love the channel, do you know where to email them for the clip screw? I’ve reached out to 2 different addresses over a month ago and no response. Even used there help section on their site. Just noticed I will have the same 2 knives once I get my Exo k in a couple days.

Man, the acoustics alone make it worth it🔥
Gotta say…you are a pro Brother. There are Fellas pulling down high six figures that don’t rise to your high level. Cheers. Gonna own that Karambit .

Thank you for the video, just bought a Reate Exo M, been wanting an Exo for two years!
Same here

Awesome. Just put my pre-order in for the black micarta with the dagger blade.
Same here. Same variation.
Where can you go to get those flat screws sent out? I have a Green Micarta w/ Tanto and a Zircuti w/ Drop Point that both have the round screw, sadly.
Nevermind, that Zircuti Exclusive has the new screw, and it's amazing!

I really like the finish on my EXO Tanto, the Bayonet EXO-M has the same finish.
I bought the EXO-K from Cranes Cutlery and it will be delivered on Saturday. I’m stoked
I bought an EXO-K a couple weeks ago. Came in last week. The trainer is super fun to carry around and just play with in the downtime.
Just pre ordered my EXO d/e black micarta this morning after a text from Blade Ops. 7/15/23 ship date. Excited.

*crying in German
Actually interested in the exo-k knowing it comes with a trainer
The Exo K opened up reminds of THE THING right before it attacks and consumes it's next victim.

You can flip it to where you open with your index and close with your thumb.
The karambits are at DLT right now I just got one
Thanks man! Just got the sand pvd option on DLT. White Mountain dropped the same option earlier today and it sold out before I could get one.
Thank you my Man I got the reate exo m that I was waiting for 😊

I'm hoping Reate will have some EXO's available at the Blade Show. If so I'm going to snag me one.
I got an exo k on the way. Super excited for this innovative fidget knife
Looked at the links didn’t show me the exo m searched on the sight still no exo popping up

I saw that u can easily flip the button to the other side? Would that help ...don't even have to take the knife apart

Whats your opinion on the crkt provoke? Been thinking of getting a folding karambit just to have one in collection

Very interesting and informative video thanks.
Bang!! 💥 💥 💥
You can swap the button to the other side...fyi
The K came & went on WMK today in an hour. Looking forward to playing with mine... 😊🗡️👊
I can't remember what video, but trying to find a folding kukuri style you've reviewed
I got one!! But July!!?? I thought it said by june 15th? I sure hope not July. One reason i didn't order a Factor B3 6-8 months to long
I have a Reate Exo M - Where or who do I contact on getting the new screw for the clip? As Always great content.
Thank you my friend
That is so stupid cool I’m ordering now
I’m currently bleeding from three little puncture wounds from trying to fast close the K model
Those density relative to the medium knives are awesome lol. 😅
I have the exact same two knives except tanto m and black dlc k
I wish I could just buy the trainer
Where are the clones at or something available/affordable
Who do I contact for the flat screw for the reate exo m?

Yesterday site said coming soon. Today it's out of stock 😢
Guess they're already closed the pre order the link takes you to Microtech exocets
Wiggle the blade on that gravity knife. Gotta see the fit to purchase. Is it tight or all wiggly
Has a slight wiggle but when you squeeze down it goes away
It does rattle a bit when closed, and there is a slight wiggle when open, but if you're holding it properly, you don't really notice.
Both Wicked Sweet 👊🏼
Is it me…or was there a subliminal message when you were violently shanking that Schrade box 🤔…. Totally with you btw…🤘
I'm Crazy in one this
DLT in-stock full
Good stuff man!! I may get one well 2 with trainer😂
Cool
Man, you Americans are spoiled with the legality of your knives. In Britain everything the least bit cool is automatically illegal.
YOU CANNOT BUY THEM! THEY ARE NOT "BACK IN STOCK"! EVERYWHERE HAS BEEN SOLD OUT FOR MONTHS!!!!
Not available lol
Just coped a exo karambit!Bad A$$!!
