By the way, your car remote is also a key - if you slide and hold that tiny grooved toggle on the back while pulling up on the silver part with the loop connected to your keychain, your emergency backup key will come out. Most key fobs have some type of backup feature like this so you can still get into your car if the remote part fails to work. Also, if your car is a push button start or has push button locks and your remote is dead or won’t let you in the car or let you start it, you can usually hold the fob against the push buttons for 3-5 seconds and then try again and they should work.
