I love how casual he is about his talent. Like, we all know he’s an exceptional swimmer but then he goes and tells us about shattering the world record and it’s just another day for him.
Props on being so humble!
National meet record not world record 😂😂
Wow... I think your warm-up is most of my practice.

Nice video again ! Would love to see your pre practice or pre race stretches as well in a future video as well as more detail about your dry land training. Thanks !!!
Class act 👏👏 keep it up man love the vlog!!
Cody Miller is the most positive person
Most dedicated, and is why I love/ do swimming.
Cody, awesome vlogs, and good length!!! Keep up the quality content.
P.S. I graduated from Palo Verde!! Swim team’s still on fire
Thanks for doing this channel.
It's awesome!
That’s pretty cool of you giving your medal to a kid. Good stuff, Cody!
Congratulations Cody!!!! #1 👍👍👍👍
Hey glad i found your channel i dont swin but your channel is super cool keep it up:)
Good job Cody, that pool is my swim clubs(OSSC) practice and home pool so I got to watch you swim, it was really cool, keep it up, both in swimming and RUclips
Would be great if you make a video about a gym session
Alto Pianista he did, it was in his first video
Lucas Wisdom a longer one
I’ll do that eventually 👍🏼
Thank you :D, hello from mexico!
"Just brighten the kids day" is an understatement, you brightened that kids life! Lol
I love your swim vlogs 👍🏻 also im your fun 😄
Awesome video Cody Miller! I personally have never been able to get use out of a long swim long a warm up. Though I have been training at the NCAA level for 4 years now, I have never been able to develop much aerobic swimming ability. I swim my best when I get to do my own warm up (not the longer team warm up). I will only do about a 500 total. Nothing beyond a 100 of straight swimming. Then I do starts. That's it. But for the rest of my team, the longer warm ups certainly work best.
😁 Well done on the 200y Breast!!! It was a AWSOME race!!! 👍💪 Thanks for the episode. It is very useful info.
what a cool guy. giving a medal to the kid is the best thing you can do i guess. its worth more than winning. you did not win the race but you won hearts of fans
Ahhhhh miss swimming at that pool!!!! Thanks for this!!!!!!
So awesome you gave your medal to the young kid! As a mom it is so cool to see my son's idol be as a good of a human being as an athlete. Congrats on your best time in the 200 breast!
“Look at these goggle marks” ME
Man you gotta love that intro!
Dude I am your biggest fan ever
Congrats on the 200m breaststroke! Love the honesty coupled with positivity on the vlog.
Dope vlog. I’ll be racing the 200 breast at junior nationals Saturday, hoping to get in the low 2:03s!!

Please do a video on a good dry land weight room routine for strength and stamina!
Include some of your sets please! Love it anyways.
Hei Mr.Miller...I would realy want to see you make a video about how you shoot your videos...like what camera you use...what lense and mic do you use...I would like that :)
Hell ya brother solid 200!
you’re really a good guy!
It’s cool knowing he’s swam in the same pool as me. That’s where my religionals are held which is the meet before my junior olympics
Btw do you have any tips for being nervous before a race?
These are great.
Will you do a video of the swag you get when you are chosen as an Olympian?
That’s a good idea. Yes eventually
So cool!
Peep how tall Reece is on the podium! XD
Yeah, there should be a class of its own for giants like Reece ;)
7 feet 3 inches.
+AlNouman Al Noumani no
AlNouman Al Noumani 6'8
I watched him race when he was 13 😱
What's it like swimming in 25/50 yard pools then going to competitions like the olympics where the pools would be in metres? Does it put you off at all if you'd usually do x amount of strokes in an american pool then having to make up the extra distance in the metre equivalent?
I hope you took the drone with you to Turkey and the Maldives. Enjoy your honeymoon.
Ayye, Michael Chadwick he went to mizzou and im from missouri!!!!!
Bro you shaved! 😱🙀
Please Do More Videos!
Ayyyy my names cody also 👌🏼👌🏼
Congrats on your time!
Cody when did u decide to focus on Breaststroke?
Awesome
Cody, I adore you and love watching your Vlogs! Please accept this feedback with the good intentions I have for it. 1) Great job in giving your medal away vs. 2) Being upset that you didn't win is possibly a bad role modeling for young kids. Winning is NEVER in our control, the only thing we control is our own performance. You yourself said you jammed all your walls in your 100. Did you deserve to win? Do you think Leah Smith (vs. Ledecky) or Lochte (vs. Phelps) should always be pissed that they didn't win? If a swimmer each performs their best, that is a win. And yes, if YOU perform your best, most likely YOU will usually win. But I think this sentiment is the hardest on YOU (vs. Adam Peaty). Just some food for thought for making you better and not putting pressure on some kids that worship you. Keep up the great job with your Vlogs. They rock! Kelly, OT Qualifier, NCAA D1 All-American.
GO BLUE!!
You are my idol
I swam there not too long ago for ned reeb 🙌🏽😭
I do the same warmups for Breaststroke sessions, but I do the same thing just changing the strokes for when I do other races. Good idea or not?
good
half your warm up is my whole workout.. I swear I'm a joke hahahaha
Awesome 200 breast Cody!!
Very similar to the Missouri state pool (my favorite pool)
Just subbed
I’m a 56 100 backstoke, what do you think is the most important thing to focus on to get down to low 50s?
underwater work, and holding speed over the last 50
OSRS Obby Is there a certain way to think about the race or do I️ just try to kill the whole thing?
Mojo Yala you need to do what you practise in training... so start there to learn the better underwater and work harder that you can keep up the speed
One thing that helped me get down to the 48.8 100 Back (Tapered) range was doing broken sets at race pace, really focusing on underwaters and turns. I do the 200 back as well so I do 50 on a 1:00 base holding sub 28 (personal times you can speed it up or slow it down depending on your own ability) and i keep doing them until I don't make the 28 base, i do like a 100-200 flop (choice) and do the set again. I usually make it through 3-4 times depending on the day, but its a great workout for limited time or a high intensity practice. Like I said I do the 100 and 200 Back as my main events in college so thats why I do 50s. If your still in high school (just assuming) id go more for 25s since you are swimming more of a sprint and do a difficult but not impossible 25 base. Hope this helps!
Mojo Yala this depends on your training regime, some people respond better to a front half speed, and others respond better to feeling fresh throughout the first 50 and then hammering home the last 50. Scientifically, building the last 50 has shown lactic acid to arrive slower than if you went all out from the start.
I would practice a lot of sets where you hold pace and slowly build the last 5 yards, then start building the last 15, and last 25. This should set you up nicely!
Congrats.
It’s okay - NOOT 🤣
That’s such a cool thing to do nice guy
What is that small pool between the two pools
GOOD F ing content
It's just like Casey Neistat style vlogs😂
what do you mean by variable?
What the hell are all these numbers. How long is your pool?
25 yards
God bless
Good job at winter nats
Love the hat!! #deathlyhallows
I've been to this pool
At least you beat "the giant" , Reece Whitley ;)
How do you get money
Ugh I wish I was that kid!!!!!
Fuck me his warm up is my main set 😂
When he was up in the podium, I am pretty sure Reese Whitley was there two... maybe not though
What's the #1 tip you have for a faster breaststroke?
I'm probably not credible to answer this since my 100y breast time is more than 1:10... But I'd say when you kick, don't sweep your legs too wide, but keep it short and powerful. When you pull, don't pull so wide, and shoot your arms out fast and in a fluent motion. The most important part is to time the kick just right after you shoot out. It needs to be extremely smooth; as soon as you shoot, you need to be ready to kick hard and fast. On top of all that, glide for no longer than a second and a half.
Also, try to lurch forward into the water when you shoot out. This will help increase momentum.
#1 tip from me: definitely keep your head and body angled forward in the water. This will help you power yourself forward at all times, as opposed to bobbing up and down
Swim faster :)
K I'm pretty reliable for breaststroke tips cauz I'm a 1.08 and I'm thirteen. I would say have a super super super speedy breaststroke pull. A breaststroke pull is not meant to the main part of your stroke. You want to get your arms through that cycle as fast as possible
Im 15 and have a 58. From experience, your pullout and explosiveness off the wall can be one of the most important factors, as it can account for more than half your race.
Dude I live 10 minutes from OSU its so weird to see Olympians there
I e been doing the same warm up for 3 years. 400 free/ 200 back 25 swim 25 kick/100 breast 25 3,2,1 25 swim/ 100 fly 25 2,2,2 drill and then 8x25 Ironmans
That kid looked so confused 🤷♂️
It is so Casey Neistat inspired lol. I love it though
dealing with injury
Reece Whitley ☝
Way to end the vlog on a high note!
Warmup sessions are only 20 mins tho
How do you cope if a meet doesn’t go your way ? 🏊♂️
Lewis Adams take your next chance to do better
I know the person u gave the medal to❤️❤️❤️
Meh
Bro I live in Columbus I'm like kinda having a fan boy moment
carsonk77 pusheen potato no I swim for NAAC and had just switched when I turned 13 last year and had a trash season so I didn't get to swim there and now they moved JOs to Miami for summer and winter so I'll never swim a JOs at OSU
ELEMENT_ 614 NAAC is a pretty good team too! I swim for WTRC. I’m kinda mad that they moved JOs to Miami because I do terrible there
ELEMENT_ 614 I’ve been having a trash season this year as well, luckily I qualified for JOs in the 400 medley relay for my team, are you going to JOs this year??
carsonk77 pusheen potato it’s alright at least you made it in something people can’t say that and yes I am
ELEMENT_ 614 thx, and good luck!!
2:04 am i dumb or what is a 200 flop
I’m about to swim at Ohio state for Zones 🤙🤙
I can barely do 1:49 2 free you’re crazy
Tbh I think the medal means less if you didn't win it.
Chlorine rashes hurt so much
Somebody translate all these terms for me please
My warm up is a 200 swim and I get out
My 100 breaststroke time is like a 1:40.80 or something like that 😂😂
I bet it improved today
How Olympians warm up.
Act like jelly and shake.
