I wish it was acknowledged more by media that the time Burrow beat Mahomes in playoffs his defense made the stand and plays against Mahomes, as opposed to him outdueling Mahomes in a shootout. He gets ranked higher than Allen for that win, despite Allen playing a much better game than Burrow in the 13-second game and only losing because of his defense. Even when Burrow made the SB, Allen still had more passing TDs than him. Like in those two afcc games against the Chiefs, Burrow had a 78 passer rating and 3 TDs to 3 INTs.

Long time native and current resident in sports media but not football though know a couple beat coverage analysts and writers. The bengals are unique in their relationship with players in that as mentioned by coach they negotiate differently. Not being great franchise for so long, the lack of winning brewed some complacently which gave way to some stalwarts in the front office. Point of that is this is one of those rare times when a franchise makes a drastic turn on a dime from a non playoff team to a playoff team. The lack of pressure hasn’t ousted underperformers in front office so things still are done a way that doesn’t really match what they might need in terms of negotiations. With that though, the bengals are able to have a lot of closed door talks that don’t leak. For instance 11:25 wildes point re: team leader having those discussions - By all accounts, Joe does . You just don’t hear about it the way you might in Dallas . Notice how little you heard about Burrow’s extension negotiation. Burrow and chase are close - it’s impossible to think he’s not overtly bucking for him. Joe isn’t shy he’s just introverted. Doesn’t make him passive. He , again by limited accounts and grain of salt, actually has a big presence in any of the front office rooms. He’s just limited in his media appearances and cognizant of his rhetoric

Jesus. These guys have no idea what's going on in Philly. Hurts is throwing the ball all over and taking risks. He just hasn't thrown an interception. It doesn't mean anything good or bad. It just means that the offense is getting really good reps in under a new offensive coordinator. All reports show that they are looking way better with this new system than last year. Also, the defense has looked really good as well and the secondary in particular has been really playing well. Slay, Ringo, Rodgers, CJGJ, Maddux, Mitchell, etc.

When the weather gets cold, with the playoffs right around the corner the Bengals are one of the hottest teams in the NFL and nobody wants to play them. They have a well constructed roster with a bunch of young talented players, and Burrow leads that group, but the coaches are also some of the brightest coaches in the NFL. Literal Lies told about Burrow:
-hes the 2nd best qb in nfl
-hes clutch/great in the playoffs (has mediocre playoff numbers and ONE 4th qtr TD in his entire playoff career
-he turned the franchise around (as if bengals did not draft chase, already have higgins, boyd, and mixon)
-no one dissects a defense better than burrow (😂)
-hes mediocre playoff play is due solely to that OLine (much of that is on him as well obviously)
-hes better than josh allen (😂😂)
P.s. :-his defense allowes 22ppg in the playoffs which is excellent
-he literally does not have one single truly great playoff game/performance

I feel like Joe burrow is a tad bit overrated. Definitely a good player but he wouldn’t be in my top 5 quarterbacks

And when he says he doesn't have a strong arm. It's because he wants some to throw the ball deeper and take more risk.

It sounds like 1 int per 2 practice sessions is the ideal number for them 😅

Justin Jefferson came into the NFL one year before Chase. Why would they both get an extension in the same off-season?

I'm beginning to think the Lions were strategically brilliant by paying their QB and #1 WR EARLY and now everyone else (some exceptions) are tearing their teams apart in negotiating battles with - that's right - their QB's and #1 WR's.

What baffles people even more is that, Tee Higgins is ok with the tag this year. Everyone on the planet has accepted the fact that he’s playing under the tag this year and that he’ll be gone next year. There is no case where you keep him and Chase. At this point, I think it’s more than ok to give Chase 33-34 mil a year and make a big part of that deal guaranteed when you’re locked to have all your other receivers on the smallest deals possible.
