How are you going to be born in the American south (Atlanta, Georgia) and raised in America and say that you get your speed from your Dad’s side of the family like 🖤 🇺🇸 haven’t dominated track and field and many other sports. Gabby’s mother was the intellectual side of her…her mother did not compete in sports, she was a superior student, and is a college professor…that’s how Gabby ended up in Massachusetts to begin with. Her father was a college football defensive back. That’s where her athletic abilities came from. He is also Jamaican. That’s why this interview was given, they specifially asked about her Jamiacan roots, so that's what she focused on. She got the best of both worlds. She talks about her mom in interviews, just not this one, or when it pertains to track and field. Our (U.S.) success in track and field is well documented, and there’s no need to try and turn her mom into some sports figure when she clearly wasn’t. I suggest you take a quick moment to look for the interviews where she speaks highly of her mother, so you’ll know that she does acknowledge her, instead of speaking falsely about something we didn’t know about. That’s what I did before I made my comment. She’s just stating where she got her athletic side from…she's not dissing her mom in any way.

Because Jamaican is not a race. We are all of African decent. Plus, her mom is black American and she was raised here. The only thing in her blood is what is in all of our blood (west Africa). It just sounds silly really. It would make sense if she was Chinese American (for instance) to say that her skills come from her bloodline. People just don’t understand nationality verses ethnicity.
I have no complaints as FBA. She should have ran for Jamaica. I think we would have been fine regardless. This is also the reason why we as FBA need to delineate, others do it and have initiated it. Gabby’s mother was the intellectual side of her…her mother did not compete in sports, she was a superior student, and is a college professor…that’s how Gabby ended up in Massachusetts to begin with.
Her father was a college football defensive back. That’s where her athletic abilities came from. He is also Jamaican. That’s why this interview was given, they specifially asked about her Jamiacan roots, so that's what she focused on.
She got the best of both worlds. She talks about her mom in interviews, just not this one, or when it pertains to track and field.
Our (U.S.) success in track and field is well documented, and there’s no need to try and turn her mom into some sports figure when she clearly wasn’t.
I suggest you take a quick moment to look for the interviews where she speaks highly of her mother, so you’ll know that she does acknowledge her, instead of speaking falsely about something we didn’t know about.
That’s what I did before I made my comment.
She’s just stating where she got her athletic side from…she's not dissing her mom in any way.

Because Jamaican is not a race. We are all of African decent. Plus, her mom is black American and she was raised here. The only thing in her blood is what is in all of our blood (west Africa). It just sounds silly really. It would make sense if she was Chinese American (for instance) to say that her skills come from her bloodline. People just don’t understand nationality verses ethnicity.
I have no complaints as FBA. She should have ran for Jamaica. I think we would have been fine regardless. This is also the reason why we as FBA need to delineate, others do it and have initiated it. I think she be great going back to Jamaica and helping to make it a great powerful country as the country(USA) that my ancestors built
