I have this mower and really like it. I'm getting the new one this year with front casters and supposed better ground clearance. I'm mowing at around 1.5" and my current model has a tendency to dig if things aren't perfectly level. My Toro doesn't do that so I'm hoping Scag fixed this issue.
@@jusinburton5286 It is heavy AF. going straight isn't so bad, it's just turning it takes a 6 point turn. Definitely wear out anyone after a few yards.
So i went and bought one of these orange beauties. I have about ten hours on it. I absolutely hate this mower. I will take my first version Toro over this any day and run circles around the scag 30. You or i should say 'I' cannot control the scag 30. Ervery time i have to turn it, it's like a 6 point turn. And i have to let off the transmission handle 6 times then get it pointed in the right direction. When i turn it in a 180 the rear wheels tear up the grass. Going in a circle around flowerbeds will absolutely whoop my ass and i have to push the mower from one side to keep going in the circle and i mean push it HARD which also tears up the grass. Everytime I look back I'm tearing up the grass. I have a few yards where i have to go down a side of a house and not enough room to turn around so i have to pull the mower backwards. It needs a reverse gear especially if it's slightly uphill/ pulling it uphill backwards that is. When i was bagging, i could not keep the front end down so here we go again trying to line it back up pulling it backwards then a little forwards and then it pops a wheelie then pull it backwards again then almost line it back up and then it pulls left or maybe right. I should have just retrofit a Kohler engine on my old Toro and kept mowing. If this scag 30 was the only mower on earth i would quit mowing.
@@jusinburton5286 Nobody even wants it on craigslist for $1600. I'm out of business unless I can sell this thing. Unfortunately anyone / everyone already knows what a boat... SHIP anchor they are.
Toro 30 inch Timemaster mowers are belt timed and I would never buy one of those if a person goes over a stump by mistake you could damage a blade or have something hit a window. These Scag mowers are not timed blades why would you want a timed blade system anyway stupid on toros part I would never want one of those I'll continue to use my Foley Quad Cut from 1961 32 inches wide with 4 8 inch blades I would put it up against any of these mowers with 6 hp plus it does a awesome job on the yard!
@@ScagPowerEquipment Awesome, please make them lockable. It will greatly help to be able to have swivel for detail around beds and then lock them for lines. Please also reinforce them well. Looking forward to buying a model with casters!

I haven’t tried the new one out yet I do like the toro better for transporting on the vride
The rear “dropouts” are removable on the 2022 model
Looks like it cuts nice and your cutting straight. I couldn't make a straight line wirh it at the g.i.e. expo.
Thanks for the video...
I think the cut is good and it rannreal strait the struggle is in small areas the weight will be very noticeable
Enjoy the mow!

Can’t believe they didn’t put castors on it.
Caster wheels are in development!
