I love these builds because I always come away thinking "hey! I can do that!" and as a beginner coming away from tutorial videos with that mind set is a great feeling. They look so good and are not overly intimidating!
Thanks for watching! I'm hoping to launch a patreon page for the channel soon! I would be able to host build challenges and feature patron's work! Not to mention giveaways too, my bookshelves are getting full!
Thank you for the feedback! I need to put together a list of what I use in the video descriptions. It doesn't need to be an affiliate link or anything but it would be a good resource.
Thanks for watching! I'm hoping to post a few pictures on Instagram of all the pieces together so far. I need a few more rocky outcroppings and trees. Maybe the next build will be something along those lines?
Happy little mistakes! I love the down to earth, small scale projects. This is something anyone can try, not some insane megalomaniacal project :) still loving the vibe! Keep it up!
Thank you for watching! I always loved how Bob Ross could create a beautiful scene in under 30 minutes! These builds take a lot longer than that but he didn't have to wait for paint (except gesso) and glue to dry! My work as a blacksmith is all fire, sweat, and hammers so I like to downshift with the terrain builds. This hobby is so fun and acessable with just a few supplies!
Hit the thumbs up before I even watched it because I already knew it was going to be good. The watchtower is one of my favorite builds of yours. So awesome that you decided to make an excellent piece even better.
Thanks! I really appreciate your feedback and support! I set everything out and felt like the terrain needed some connections. I may need to spend a video making smaller scatter stuff like boulders and clumps of trees.
I was just thinking this morning that I hadn't seen a new build from you in a while, good to see you back! I like the addition to your previous build. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching another video! I just finished my new Kickstarter so it's been crazy busy here. I'm trying to post a new video at least every two weeks.
I was half way through my work day when this dropped. Made me smile and gave me something to look forward to. Great build! I'd love to see you make something meant for the interior, even if it's the interior of a ruined cottage or a hags hut so you can still use your washes. Old furniture, books, doors, a cauldron, etc. with moss and other plants growing in or on them. Might give you something you can branch into without breaking from the skills you've mastered:) anyway, loved this as usual!
Thank you for watching another video! I would love to tackle an interior build! I need a goblin lair! Maybe a build with a removeable top that exposes the interior?
@Ravenstead that would be super cool👌 give you a chance to play with stalagmites and stalactites too. Add some extra green to them from the algae that collects too.
Love me some palisades! My last big project was a modular set of them including a gate. Love your more worn look and the little story you have going together with the borderlands outpost
Thank you for watching! I would love to know how you fit your modular pieces together. My bases always get in the way! I'm thinking I need smaller pieces of scatter terrain like boulders, stumps, and trees to block gaps.
@@ravenstead My palisades are on the more fortified side. I took a piece of XPS 4" long, ~1" wide and 1" tall. On the front I glued my palisade posts after engraving the back, left and right with a brick pattern. On top I glued stir sticks as boards and the bottom was left as is. I also made some corner pieces which are the same as the regular just that the posts also wrap around either the left or the right side of the XPS. For bases, I glued craft sticks under it lining up with the back, left and right but with a little overhang to the front so that I could place some greenery and rubble. that way I could place the pieces "flush" against each other. I have some minor gaps from unclean cuts but no one notices
Thank you! I was a little nervous how the palisade would look. Sometimes real wood doesn't fit the scaled look. Mountain Laurel is my favorite for trees and such.
You might want to consider getting some paving sand and play sand to mix up in a tub, putting that as a layer underneath the flocking tends to give a more natural look to the ground.
Thanks for watching another video! The urge to go big is always there! I have a notebook filling up with ideas! It would be so much fun to build a mountaintop fortress with towers and gatehouses. Maybe once I get the Patreon page up and start doing giveaways I will have the shelf space! Do you think there would be any interest if I were to list these builds in my Etsy store? I would appreciate your opinion.
best crafting channel out there
no BS, just kick ass projects to try
Wow! Thank you so much!

Had some burn out on modelling due to some big builds. Watching these videos makes me want to jump right back in though.
Great work
Jump in, the water is fine! Thanks for watching!
Great piece. Weathering the wood palisade may be in order if it's been in place long enough for moss to grow on it.
Thank you for the feedback! I will have to find a way to create a weathering effect on the wood. Maybe a grey wash or dry brushing.
I like that you mention the paint colors by name. Helps to replicate the effect. Thanks.

I like how well your builds work together! Each one is simple and small but they add up to something greater. Looking forward to seeing more!

Like the add on. Nice build
Thank you so much! It turned out to be fairly challenging working with the wooden palisade. A bit fiddly.

Thanks for catching another video! I'm hoping to keep up the pace with at least a video every two weeks. I'll keep them coming as best I can!
I love these videos so much the style is so relaxing to watch and I love seeing the process of how everything goes together, awesome job :)
Thank you so much for watching! I am so happy to share some of my chill with you!
Looking great! I’m excited to try All of your ideas and projects!

Thinking of another project: an old dock! You could have that rotten plank that is becoming a regular thing!😜
@@frasercossar407 I like it! Someone's foot is gonna punch through that rotten plank!
Simple, playable and beautiful, well done sir.
Thank you for watching! I can't wait to start the next build!

Thanks for the suggestion! I appreciate the feedback.
Great stuff mate! I truly love the simplicity of it, pretty much motivating ;)
Thank you for watching! I'm really enjoying these small builds!
great lil build. That seems to be the channels theme. Do you plan on doing any that are like the big center piece that these would lead up to?

@@ravenstead oh I have no idea what the demand is out there. I just watch crafting vids myself.
Good stuff. When you have the whole layout it’s gonna be great.
Thanks for watching! I'm not sure how I want to tie everything together but it will be expansive!
Looks cool.
Thank you! I appreciate you watching!
Nice go’s well with your other one would like to see a wooden bridge or something like that
Thank you! I would love to build a bridge! That's going in the concept book!

He built a tree fort as a kid and now he stands around leaning on a shovel judging me. You know the type...
