I think this really puts into perspective the effect meta has on the game. The weapons are really good, but because of that literally EVERYONE used them, which completely killed all the fun, which is what splatfest is about this is also why they need to add ranked modes into splatfest
It may not be fun for you But I know some people really enjoy crushing the dreams of their opposition. I think the game just needs better match making so the people are put into their own bracket away from all the squishy casuals.

Back in the Gear, Grub, Fun Splatfest, a friend and I pulled similar to this (76%-10%) I had a brush, he had .52 gal and the other 2 were Aerospray and Splash. I basically ran in and locked them down so my team could paint the rest of the map before joining me on lockdown. The meta helps but the skill of these players compared to their opponents is what gave them these ridiculously one sided matches
He squidbagged someone who was squid partying. That's generally how you answer. It didn't look toxic at all. And what's unsportsmanlike about winning fairly? If anything, those who dc'd on the other team were unsportsmanlike.

It really is, at least 2 gave you a barrier so you could safely build up specials and try to break out of spawn camping that way. Now you're vulnerable the moment you spawn in. I got spawn camped in Mahi-Mahi and it seriously put a damper on the event for me because while I had the tools to escape the situation, the spawn area was too damn small to actually do anything before getting splatted. I get it for the x10, x100 and x333 battles because everyone wants to win those but this was a normal one. It's not a good system when only one side is having 'fun'. :/
@@Frost-rx4ch One hit and you loose your armour though, so if you've got four players aiming at you then you won't last long. Whereas the shield in 2 couldn't be broken by anything, making it safe to throw bombs and farm specials even on maps like Walleye Warehouse.
not to be a downer but I didn’t like the first turf war. You already won and the other team accepted it, they just stopped playing yet you still splatted them on sight. Like you still would’ve got 95% turf. idk it just didn’t feel right to me especially since you already had the win in the bag, why keep splatting them?
I agree, like I love watching his vids but the first match felt meanspirited, unintentionally or not (the bagging doesn't help). I don't play Splatoon very often anymore (as clips like that remind me of why I stopped) but iirc they don't have a ranked mode for Splatfests so that match making can be a bit more fair? They should probably implement that already.
