I'm Precious, an Emergency Medicine resident physician sharing my experiences through medicine and life. Through my channel I hope to show that life is meant to be lived and enjoyed throughout the journey, not only at the final destination. Along the way, I hope to provide advice to students and motivation to anyone pursing a career in the medical field.

It's motivating to see you grow in the short amount of time! Really a fan your schedule though 😉
I like shifts. Somehow I like the randomness of it all. But I also understand the need for strict schedule especially if there are kids involved. So lol I guess for me it just depends on what stage I am in life 😁
Agreed, it can be super nice to have a mid weekday off to get things done too! Always loved that part
Another factor to consider ma! Kids
It’s so amazing seeing you grow Dr. Eze
Wish you success in everything 🙏❤️
Becoming Dr. Stephen thank you! ❤️
Shift work as an attending when you’re actually making money haha then you can have side hustles etc on the days off. Well even as a resident if you’re allowed to moonlight. Also, you’re still crushing it! Doing awesome
Haha attending life = best life!
" If we know it all we wouldn't be doing residency " THANK YOU ❤
I always loved my weekends off. My husband drives busses he had a rotating schedule and we just got used to it.
Precious is a great Doctor and a good cook too. You should post the recipe for the paste salad on IG. Looks good and simple to make. I'm a Medical student too and I don't have enough time to cook good food. I love your channel; Powder Springs love!
Ayyye Powder Springs! lol. For pasta salad- cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, meat of choice, feta cheese Italian dressing, mix it all up! (add your seasonings of choice).
Thank you for allowing me {us} a glimpse of your personal and work life...I also, pray for your safety while attending to those that need your profession...May God continue to Bless you & your husband's journey as we call 'Life'.✨
Also, I would love the random work schedule😊..
Mrs. Belinda Una Williams thank you 🙏🏾
Thank you so much for making the video I requested! All the food looked amazing! Glad residency is going well! Just know that it is normal to have a feeling of imposter syndrome as Nurse Liz recently talks that she is still going through it even after being in her 2nd year as an FNP! Stay safe!
Looks like imposter syndrome is never ending 😩. I hear attendings still experience it too
definitely prefer the M-F and weekend's off. I worked shifts schedules in the hospital before and it wasn't so bad but it had moments where it could get chaotic. Knowing I have a weekend to look forward too feels good.
Yeah it’s weird even tho I may have 2-3 straight days off in the middle of the week, I still miss my weekends off lol
Your cooking looks so good! I need to try that recipe ☺️
Rocshanna Creese yes, you should try it!
I agree, Rasshana.
Was I the only person paying attention to the chicken Parmesan recipe at the end of the video? 😂
Uggh that French toast breakfast looked so tasty. It was nice catching up with your vlogs. So inspiring to see you continue to thrive and enjoy what you are doing!
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Oh my god what would I do without you. I was so sick then this popped up I felt a instant relief and I praised god thank you and keep up the good work amen god bless
the talk at ~1:40-5:00 YES QUEEN👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
An Emergency Room (ER) Doctor treats infections and injuries in a hospital emergency room or urgent care facility. They are medical doctors with extensive residency training in an emergency room. Their duties include requesting medical tests, performing follow-up visits, and creating treatment plans.
Daily Dose of Medicine we don’t perform follow up visits, but we ensure that you have a follow up appoint once you’re discharged from the ER 😉. ER docs are specialists in advanced cardiac life support, resuscitation, trauma. Pretty much anything emergent, but of course you’ll see your fair share of primary care issues.
I always enjoy watching your videos and your cooking time
Thank you for watching!
If I had a job , it would be set hours. It's good to know that different things work for different people. Then again working Monday - Friday could be tough on taking care of personal business since most businesses are dictated on a weekday. If a doctor had a look, you have it. Great video Dr. Eze
yeah I can def see the pros and cons of both. I miss having free weekends tho
I would prefer the M-F schedule. I like knowing my schedule and having the weekends to look forward to. The food looked so good, esp that chicken parm! Just the right amount of sauce and cheese.😋😋 Lastly, I loved the pep talk. You’re going into residency with the right mindset. Keep up the good work and great vlog!
That food looked so delicious. I love when you and Stanley cook together. Hope you have a good week! 💕
Thanks for watching!
You’re so pretty❤️and an inspiration❤️
Awww thank you 🤗
Not sure if you've done this yet but a what's in my bag/coat/pocket residency edition
To be a doc I hardly ever see you wash your hands before you get to cooking but.i still enjoy your vlogs it encourages me to want to be in the medical field thanks God bless keep it up girl always learning something
Love your content
Anusha S thank you for watching!
You already know I love your schedule! As a mom, the shift work will hopefully be more beneficial in the long run.
I’m not in the medical field but I really enjoy watching your journey!! If possible I would love to see how you get ready to make the trips between Atlanta and Florida. I prefer M-F schedule. Having days off in the middle is nice but it usually throws me off!!
Haha I never thought about the aspect of being thrown off by the random days off. I definitely can’t keep up with the days of the week tho 😂. As far as going back and forth from Atl to Fl, whenever I have a stretch of at least 3 or more days off from work, I just drive back up to Atl. It’s about 4 hrs
White Coat Chronicles Ok, 4 hours isn’t too bad.
Love my shift schedule, I’m a nurse and will be starting neonatal nurse practitioner school soon so my life will always be shift work. Love your channel!
Tiffany Pollock congrats on starting NP school!
I like to have the weekends off. Good to see you doing great!
I really enjoy watching your videos. I hope even after you finish residency that you continue to post videos when you have time thanks for sharing
Definitely! Thanks for watching 🤗
I am a medical student and I love working night shifts because I have no problem staying up all night. I am very much interested in EM, so we shall see if I end up getting in next year!
I’ve worked both types of jobs, i think I prefer shift work. However, depending on the flexibility of the 9-5, that can work as well.
Can you do a what’s in my Dr. bag video? Love your vlogs 🙂
ruclips.net/video/DMNSLgmPOPU/видео.html here’s a previous one from my 3rd year. These days I just carry a jacket, stethoscope, notebook, and my antibiotic guide
I like shift work. I don't want to get too comfortable in my schedule, that's more dangerous for me lol
I’ve done both, but I prefer the Monday-Friday.
I like random shift work. My only issue is I'm super forgetful I will be looking at schedule every day every minute trying not to miss my shift lol. I'm not opposed to Mon-Fri but man it seems like those weekends fly by!
Taryn Butler 😂 I check my schedule multiple times a week
Great works Doc! ✨✍🏽 always try to find the silver lining
Always have the weekend off
How are you able to still look fresh after your shift
Great vlog as always 👍🏾👏🏾🤗
I was an ER nurse and ran out of there lol. You are brave but yeah the ER docs don’t work hard it’s more mental. They even had scrubs doing documentation.
*scribes
Iya kakou ER docs don’t work hard?
Not physically. Yes they see a lot of patients and put in a lot of orders but definitely where I was, the nursing staff did the most work as always.
Hi, I like your content. I love watching your videos.
Joyleen Strozier thank you for watching!
Shift work I would enjoy
Since I just found u I don't know. As a resident did u start in ER? Seems that would be scary. I hope I can find u when I finish my cleaning. Not sure how to do that. But I need to go back to your 1st video and watch them all. U seem to be well organized.
My scary thought about becoming a doctor is wanting to go into a ER residency but not getting in. I think that’s what I would want to do as a doctor but it’s scary to think that
Can't wait till you start fellowship 🥰
No fellowship for me. I’m DONE DONE after residency 😂
@@WhiteCoatChronicles ohhh luckyy 😂😂
@@WhiteCoatChronicles LMAOOOOOO
There's pros and cons to both schedules lol. I have a mon-fri schedule and I love it of course. Only thing is it's hard to schedule dr appts and other things without having to take time off
Yeah that can be tricky
The food looks so good
That food looked so good😋
I think I prefer a fixed system. Weekend getaways are the real deal
Thank you for posting this! I’m currently going through the application process and studying pre-hospital emergency med...any advice about your hospital experience before med school?
Thank you!!!!🥰🥰
The only hospital experience I had before medical school was volunteering and shadowing a few different specialties.
Would rather have a random schedule for sure!
Hah. I was looking are the cap and thinking, “How does she pronounce her last name?” :)
Looking at your breakfast made me hungry 😋😋
You can cook too, that look 👀 yummy doc
I’d love a shift schedule but considering that when you are working you work 12 hour shifts that’s A LOT, you deserve those off days and it’s understandable that you wouldn’t get up and GO on those off days, you’d really have to give yourself a chance to rest.
yeah, 12hr shifts are ROUGH
In the cath lab I work 4 10s with a3 day weekend and it's pretty sweet Haha!
NewbieRN i would love that schedule!
I rather work Mon- Fri....I work in the dialysis field....most clinics are open either six days a week/ MWF or TTS....I look forward to my weekends off with my family 🙂
yeah it kind of sucks when everyone else has the weekend off and you're working haha
What did you use for your application
I am a new grad PA. I take my boards next month and hoping to be able to start working by November or December. Of course as PA's we have 15 months of didactic and 12 months of clinicals normally. This year because of covid, I missed out on about 4 months of rotations which sucks a lot. Of course I am excited but also so nervous to start working. My number one goal in finding a job is one that the physician wants to teach me and help to make me a better provider. I am unsure how much you guys do in residency, but I know you are doctors by then. Do you believe your time in residency is similar to our first couple years of working on our own? Like I said I am just so nervous although I know many people have done it prior to me. I have always had imposter syndrome throughout all of PA school. I am hoping to get my first job in family medicine as it is slower and I can use a lot of my general H&P skills and not lose them.
Lisa I’m not sure how much supervision PAs have as new grads and how much training they do or don’t receive under the physician they’re working with when they first start out. But I imagine the transition is pretty similar to med school grad. Everyone is super nervous at first. It takes getting comfortable becoming the provider and doing things independently. It makes a HUGE difference who your attending is. I hope you have someone that is patient and is willing to teach
White Coat Chronicles it completely depends on the physician form what I have heard on how much supervision. I’m definitely hoping for a great one who will help me learn for sure. As I know the learning curve is insane our first year practicing. I have heard it’s better to work with doctors who have has PAs previously since they understand moreso what is needed. Especially as a new grad.
I think i would prefer a random schedule
Love your videos
