It's fantastic seeing my old car, still looking great. The car has come along way from the shell that was dug out of a shed back in 2009 and I know it will be well loved by its new owner
@ae86racer007 it does indeed have a fresh air als system, runs a turbosmart alv40 valve and bmw 740i icv valve across the throttle blade. Needs an upgraded ecu to run it though ad the s80 was out of i/o
We need the Evenflow driver to 'road test' this lovely Ascona! Go wan ya bastard! He drove a Manta with a 300bhp C20XE, he would @#£%in LOVE this beast!
Nice video. Leave the specs up just a little longer or bigger just so we get the chance to read the specs. Car looks so much fun few inside driving shots would have made the video. 400bhp rally car on the road is amazing!
Cheers for the note. Will keep them a little longer on the next one! We had a GoPro fail on this one so our in-car shots didn't make it annoyingly. Glad you enjoyed nonetheless!
Bloody love an Ascona, first car I can remember (My Dad’s orange 2l with Rostyles and an IDF Webber, ported head etc) I was 5 when it caught fire and died). I still have random bits still in the garage.❤
Jeezuz, that'll blow ya flip flops off. I mind i worked with a guy with a two door Ascona back in 1989/90, despite being a bog standard 1600 it was a special thing even back then.
I had seen this one a ripon a few years ago and didnt realise it was running that sort of power. The odd person says that england got some 2 door asconas back in the day but pretty sure we didnt. Rest of europe did and unsure of ireland if they had them and in rhd. Only seen lhd examples for the exception of one used in a rally - circuit of ireland back in the early 80s. White v reg that wasnt 400/sport/i2000.
Worked with a guy in a garage in 1989 who had a RHD 1600S Berlinetta two door, Vermillion orange with Rostyle wheels, cant remember the reg, pretty sure it was a 79 T plate, it was a pretty special car even back then.

Always great to see old flames live on. Glad to provide a little nostalgia for ya!
@@ppcmagazine I'll have to pm you would be nice to do a vid of my current car aka Sega rally
I’ve seen it in the flesh so to speak it’s a credit to the builder
Do you know anything about what looks like the antilag plumbing? Looks like it has a fresh air setup?

Fantastic car good to see the younger lads enjoying chassis that us older guys used to rag around in 💪🏻

Let's make it happen!
"This car is immaculate" 😉
Now that's a good suggestion. Com on you ba*t*Rd as he drifts it round that corner!
Manta?
That was a Calibra. 140 brake. Standard.
Stunning car, shame we didn't get to see/hear much of it in action on the road.
Agreed!
Saw a Lamborghini Aventador on the video and thought here we go!!! 😁
Definitely a missed opportunity.
Beautifal looking Ascona, great to see younger lads taking a intrest in older cars of my childhood, suits spot on too.
Couldn't agree more!
That's a very good looking Ascona.
Loving that, it looks just bonkers enough for look bonkers, but not bonkers enough to make you think "that's bonkers" 👌
Spot on!
What an outstanding car - love it! 😀
It's a fantastic-looking beastie!
That is a good looking Ascona
Certainly is!
As an Opel Manta owner.. i approve of this!
Opel owners unite!
What a car! Top bloke as well 🇬🇧👍

@@ppcmagazine always the way when you have put the effort in. Now I must catch up on the new content.
Pitsford rezzy causeway this time, seaton scrapyard viaduct in previous vid. It's great seeing my local area with cool cars hooning about.

Never forget!
Awesome ride 😎 reminds me of a 2 door (never made) version of the Holden Torana SLR5000. The rear 3/4 glass looks similar to BMW 3 series too.
@@time603 I had an Australian guy flag me down in this car years ago asking if it was a holden
@@gt4ade it's the angry child from an M3 and an SLR 5000! I really like it too👍
@time603 it's a bonkers car to drive fair play, did castle combe in it 2021 and was beating m4 in it lol

never understood the Cavalier droopsnooth version of these ones. Very nice to see a good 400 Ascona replica
Absolutely mint. I have a 1980 Chevy monza which apparently uses the underpinnings of an ascona. Shame it hasn’t got this engine.
Nice one R Kid ❤ making flying the famous flag for the family 😂
cheers mam
What a brilliant car, thanks for another great review.
Glad you enjoyed it
Go on Kyle !
Nice car. Sounds great.
0:23 The guys name is Walter Röhrl :D
Pitsford reservoir?
Just down the road from me
Great motor 👌
Jeepers that orange thing looks good…
proper fucking car.
Amen
Stunning car I prefer the Ascona to the Manta
Tell him, the sticker is wrong. The well known guys name is Walter Röhrl, not Rohl 🙈🙈😵
It came with the sticker already on

I had a 2 door, W reg, 2.0SR, no side strips, very rare limited model, best car ever even compared to today
Rhd

Omg that is gorgeous
Thing of beauty. Wait, you mean the car and not Will's sandals, right?
Oooooo, I do like an Ascona 400.
Now here's an idea: PPC-branded underpants 😂
Skidmarks optional
@@ppcmagazine : should be available in brown as standard
Niiice
Tasty
So the owner didn't build it?
@@edalbagem no I built that car, it's built from a genuine 43k shell
👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎
Come on sandal king start getting more shots in car and less of your epic footwear
Torana
🇸🇪👋👋
What a pukka motor! Evenflow would most definitely approve! "Go wan ya bastard!"
It’s a Beast !
Certainly is
