This book played such an important role in my life. In my adulthood I had stopped reading. A friend recommended this to me, and I wasn't strong enough to finish it the first time I tried reading it. Eventually I finished it. It set me on a new life journey of reading so many great books. It made me love reading again.

      X2
I liked reading as a cat likes water.
When I started the way of kings I fell asleep many times but after a couple of hundred pages I couldn't stop reading. And ended reading it all in less that 3 weeks, impressive for me as I see it, and then the other following books until ROW and then i discovered that there was a little more about it in other books and that it's all called Cosmere and read all Cosmere in 6-7 months just a few days before tress of the emerald sea... I was a little addicted to all that hahahah😅
now I'm good and read other books not just epic fantasy thx to Brandon, and other friends and family of course.

Where on one hand, writers isolate themselves from public to solely focus on writing, Brandon has taken a really unique approach to writing by including his fans and readers in the journey.

I started with Way of Kings ages ago when there was a free ebook promo (on Apple books I think it was). I didn't usually read ebooks, so that was weird for me, but I'm so glad I gave it a chance. I had never heard of Brandon Sanderson or knew anything about it. I just saw a free fantasy book and thought, HUH THAT LOOKS COOL. As I read the book for the first time, it felt like my eyes were opened to the wonders and possibilities of fantasy in realms I'd never considered before. As a writer myself, it's hard to describe how much that impacted me. Now after devouring many of Sanderson's other books, I still come back to Stormlight Archive again and again as my favorite modern fantasy series.

It would be awesome as a movie series. I think it's structure wouldn't work well with shorter episodes, and it's obviously way way too big for a single movie.
I think it would work well on screen, because of the cool places and action scenes, and I think there aren't much internal monologue that's hard to visualize.
But it won't happen. Not now, that's for sure. And I wouldn't want to either, they would ruin it like everything else.

I used to listen to audiobooks at work all day long. I bought this book probably 4-5 years ago. Finally this week I have really committed to it. Halfway through part 3 and I'm loving it.

Re-reading in preparation for my WoR leather-bound.
It's my first re-read of WoK and I have to say I'm really enjoying it all over again; even with the knowledge of being up to date with the series.
Because I retain stories very well, I've always skip sections of books during a re-read. But for the first time ever I haven't and it's been really great. You've written the small details to be really fun to read and have sink in all over again. So thanks Brandon for the wonderfully written book!

It's hard to describe how the world building is so good, I have been having a bit of a cosmere catch up on books that I hadn't read yet and each world had is own 'feel', then when I came round to Dawnshard, it just felt so homely to be having the nostalgic feelings I had while reading the first 4 stormlight books. Looking forward to book 5 :)

These were recommended to me by some friends for quite awhile, and I finally got into it - I think there’s something really rewarding about the length of the books and the amount of time I got to spend with the characters. Sort of like watching a long TV show instead of a movie. I feel like I know Kaladin like I know Adrian Monk or Jim Halpert. Thanks for writing these. I’m in Oathbringer right now :)
(Oh and Emperor’s Soul was excellent too - short writing can be awesome as well for sure 😊)

Really great series for sure. Just barely edged out by Dresden Files for my favorite fantasy series of all time. Sanderson is a national treasure and it's so cool to see him going beyond writing into the internet landscape and interacting with (and inspiring!) fans like this.
    Keep up the great work!

I loved Harry Potter as a child and always wondered when I would find a series that would give me the same feeling as an adult that I had as a child. To fall in love with a series and the characters and be completely captivated by the story. I think I found it with this book. I read it and even though you're supposed to read other books to start the second book, I just couldn't wait and am now in the middle of the second book. Thank you!

A good friend of mine gifted me an audiobook copy of The Way of Kings, during a long drive I popped it on and was lost to it immediately, I’ve now read through most of The Cosmere, and am now awaiting the release of Wind and Truth, I’ve even tattoo’d the Honorblade symbol from the leather-bound on the inside of my forearm.
I can say without a doubt that this series took its place at the very top of my list of favorites, and helped me through one of the worst years of my life.
Kaladin Stormblessed saved me and I will always be thankful.
Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination, Radiants.
(Also the first book has a page count of 1007, which coincidently, is my birthday and lucky number!)

You know when a book is really good when you want to re-read it with the same enthusiasm as if you're reading it for the first time, and it's just as good. This book reignited my passion for books when I was just a casual reader. Now I'm obsessed with Fantasy and all kinds of books in general and not a day goes by without reading.
