I know the episode and recognize you immediately. Your wife was buying a dress because you were going to a company dinner. Mrs slocumb tried talking your wife out of buying it. She would rather have a washing machine. Started a big fight.
Good lines, great acting. Really funny scene.

I remember seeing Gordon Peters in his two appearances as a customer in the show are you being served. The episodes were cold store and No Sale. He also portrayed former train waiter Mr Valponè on an episode of the spin off show of are you being served called are you being served again? (Grace and favor). and his appearances as different characters on the sitcom Dad's army such as the lighthouse keeper in the episode "put that light out." Rest in peace, Mr Gordon Peters.
I remember both episodes well. You were hilarious!

When you were measured for the trousers length and Mr. Humphrey used an umbrella. So fun to watch. The argument between you and your ‘wife’ and the turkey feather blue dress hilarious!!!!

His scene in ‘No Sale’ is brilliant! Although he has forgotten acting in it, it’s unforgettable having watched it. 😊

He also had a bit (and I don't know if someone here already mentioned this) on Are You Being Served Again aka Grace and Favour as the guy applying for a waiter position. His character was a train waiter. Next sitting in 10 minutes, mind the doors.
He had one of my favourite lines in dad's army when he was fitting the door and said to capt Mainwaring "you're a ffffussy little fella" always makes me laugh
