The biggest reason of defeat is that they manage to hit only 4 fours in the overs from 11 to 50 . U can never won with this kind batting. At one stage , Aussies were 47 for 3 and this is an excellent start by bowlers . If ind has scored 300 then it was going to be very difficult for aus. But the target was too small that aus has the luxury to be defencive for 7-8 overs. Secondly , the turn in wkt had gone due to change in conditions.
Problem is we never learnt from the world test championship, Australia is one team who should never be taken lightly. The fact that they won all 8 matches after 2 losses speaks about their commitment to the game. The wicket was slow but we also have world class batters who all failed in the only match that mattered the most. 240 was never enough considering it was world cup final.
