I remember reading years ago that the Stones talked to Jeff about joining the band, though didn't realize they had the balls to tell him he needed to audition for the gig. Anyway, I can't see Jeff being terribly happy about being 3rd banana to Mick & Keith, nor really believe they would have enjoyed a big Jeff Beck contingent of fans every night who liked the Stones but came to see Jeff Beck. That experiment lasts a week...maybe. Their egos probably need the largely ego-less Ron Wood.

No surprise.. his passion is with his cars. As a musician he is so humble that it almost makes you wish he could be an arrogant bastard at times, haha.

Beck is one of my favorites, a true original, but when he speaks he reminds me a bit of Spinal Tap.
There are probably guitarists out there as good as Jeff Beck but I do not think there was any one better.

The best guitar player of his generation and probably ever. He could play anything, he was unique and tasteful. Also very likable, down-to-Earth.
