Mahidevran was weak, whiny, and weepy and relied on Valide and Ibrahim to protect her and cover up her crimes. Hurrem was strong, smart, and had to rely on herself to overcome her rivals and protect herself and her children. I got tired of Mahidevran. Hurrem was the star.
@@aldoprevidi5635 Oh, please. Suleyman didn't know half of the crap Valide, Ibrahim, Mahidevran, Hatice, Sah, et al did to Hurrem. She didn't tell him and no one else told him either. Certainly no one else was protecting her, Hurrem either just took it and then let it go, or she paid them back herself at some point.
It's so strange, when I was younger I supported Hurrem so much. She seemed to be so strong, cunning, determined, a victim, who then became so influential. But now her character irritates me so much. She was so hot-headed, cruel, self-centered in the series, she was to blame for making Valide, Ibrahim and Hatice her rivals, as she was disrespectful towards them even when she was no one in the palace, saw them as inferior to her, threatened them, like c'mon, of course they will try to get rid of you when you threaten them first or talk about how you'll make the sultan your slave and they hear about it! (of course I think she shoul've been much wiser in the history, considering how high she got). Also after reading some history and learning that Mahidevran beating Hurrem up was most likely a speculation, that actually Suleyman didn't really abandon her right away for his great love or because she've made some stupid mistakes and that it's most likely that Valide actually supported Hurrem, that she had nothing to do with Mehmed's death, I regard Mahidevran as a beautiful woman, who was smart enough to make friends with such influential people as Ibrahim and Hatice, raised an incredibly brave, intelligent and promising son, who she actually warned about Suleiman's cruel plan. Also she was so strong, she witnessed the rise of a woman, who was her rival for a long time, at the end she really was abandoned by the sultan, she saw how he sent her son farther and farther away from the capital, she lost Mustafa and her grandson, she was left poor (until Selim helped her), but didn't commit a suicide, she survived it all. Now I'm kinda on Mahidevran's team. Also I admire Gulfrem. Even after her loss, she didn't lose hope, she was respected by Suleiman and his family, she held important positions at the harrem, she made friends with Hurrem and didn't try to raise any scandals, after Hurrem's death, she, once again, became the closest concubine to Suleiman. It's a pity how the stories of these two women and their children ended.

@@ggvgrf6374 Yes, smart, really! Really smart. Hurrem was a slave girl who became a queen. That takes smarts IMO! :P
@@ggvgrf6374 Even IF that was the case, and I don't agree. Hurrem was still smart and self-reliant. And Mahidevan was still annoying!
