I’m so glad I got my XL Hybrid for 22k. It’s been a great little truck. Not one issue. The upgrades are nice but 40k is too much. It is what it is. Basic transportation.
I like the green. Blue interior on the Lariat is better than the XL/XLT but still goofy. $40k is nuts, makes no sense spending that much on this kind of vehicle.

But then the price does increase then you start to wonder if you're paying to much for the vehicle.
If you compare to the price of a higher end Escape, RAV4, etc the price of the Maverick is in line. Unfortunately, that's the state of vehicle prices today. It's no wonder the automakers are starting to run into a wall with sales. A lot of us can't afford to make a second house payment every month.
Nice review as usual. I find it odd you can get a sunroof on the Maverick (not the tested unit) but not on the Ranger which is a newer entry compared to the Maverick. That's what they're supposed to cost. And really, you can get one for that much decently equiped if you talk the dealer down. They just want to get rid of them.
Even at 40k what's the competition? There is none. If you want a small fuel efficient mini truck to haul some dirt around in this is it. If you want vinyl seats so they're easier to clean you literally have to have the lariat. And no seat covers don't count.

I feel it is priced correctly based off the market. The aspect that is going for the Maverick is it has significantly more capability.
