I actually think that a girl looks like a girl in a dress not pants. You represent the world so I understand your theology. But don’t fault how they were raised. The Gospel says humans are wretched and deserve hell because of our sinful nature but God so loved the world He sent His only begotten Son to serve out the punishment in the place of every human being for all of past present and future and all He wants is for us to make Jesus our Lord and Savior. However, I was very impressed w how sweet ALL the family's were,
    SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
Most Mormon family's are nice too.
Legalism produces fear...an unhealthy fear of God, as you know oh-so-well.
I'm so glad you have listened to the Holy Spirit In you.
I think it's wonderful you still talk to your parents and keep that door open as much as possible YET WISE enough to step back up IF you need To.
So thankful you are breaking the chains of legalism.
As far as your parents( not making an excuse) but they felt they were doing the right thing at the time until the time came when they were probably questioning some things themselves; yet maybe lacked the courage to get out(however only they know the reason).
You are blessed to be a blessing
    Godspeed

I just got me and my family out of the Mormon cult this year after 6 generations of my family living it! Most of the people are such kind and loving folks... but man is it a rich bots club and so toxic and controlling. The people are just so niave and have been gaslighted for so many years that it's almost impossible to get out. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. Anyone who is in with questions should read the CES letter and then fact check it. You will find out all the truth they have hidden.

She should feel proud that she recognises that she only knew one way and now she knows so much more. To know that her God loves her regardless of what she wears or whether she listens to music or uses birth control. She found a man who loves her and has helped her grow and expand her beliefs. She should be incredibly proud of the woman she has become since being married and living away from the family.

Your truth is subjective, Gods truth is objective. There is no standard of truth if you live your “truth”. Jinger still lives Gods truth. The “truth” that she grew up on was the “truth” of her parents not the God of the Bible. See how that works? When her parents followed their “truth” they ran into all kinds of fallacies. There is only one standard of truth and that is found in the Bible. The truth of Jesus Christ.
