The last one, never put up with that crap from any HOA. The second they start that stupidity, take them to court and it won’t be hard to prove they’re targeting you, especially when you bring their records into it and it’s shown you’re the only one they’re targeting and harassing.

Just the first fine and the tow would have had me contacting the police for grand theft auto, and the tow company sued for aiding and abetting in the theft of the vehicle. Towing out of the open garage is a felony, as the expectation of parking is that the vehicle is on your private property, and the HOA board would have been in court all on felony theft charges, and followed by another suit seeking return of all fines, and all HOA dues, due to them having deliberately targeted you for no reason other than age, and the documents from the beginning, that were never asked for by any other buyers, plus the refusal to expedite access to the amenities being deliberate action on their side. Best result is the property is declared free from the rules of the HOA, no dues ever to be paid, and access to all the HOA amenities as if a member, and this is noted on the deed and is transferable to any future owners in perpetuity. Would bet the next meeting would be rather bad for that board, with all members asking about why this was done, and why they have to pay for it now.

Once again, why TF would ANYONE want to join one of these fruity little clubs? No one will ever tell me what I may or may not do to my own property as long as it's within the law. Actual LAW, not some nonsensical, arbitrary suburban "rules". The entire concept of these HOAs defies logic.

Mulch vs forklift story: I think the liability would have been split between the store and Harry. The store for an employee leaving the keys in the forklift and Harry for actually using it despite not being authorized.
Tips story: I'd be careful about doing what OP did. Mr. Non Tipper might just let the authorities know OP was serving alcohol AFTER last call. Depending on the local laws, this could cause problems for both OP and the bar.
School board Karen story: Karen, it's called being a public figure. They can even run stories about you, what you've said and done and as long as it remained factual, there's not a damned thing you can do about it. It's also the same principal that allows for all the gossip stories about Hollywood celebrities that barely have any relationship to the truth to be told without repercussions.
HOA story: This is why I refuse to live in an HOA. All it takes is one person on the board (or someone whom the board listens to) to make your life miserable.

The second they had his car towed from inside his garage he should have called the police on him for car theft and this whole situation would have been taken care of. It is definitely not legal to go into someone's garage to tow their car regardless if it has expired tabs, unless it's a repossession.

Second story, but I wouldn't be that petty. I use to work for tips, so I already know the bartender is mostly lying about his hourly rate. That rate can only be lower than federal and state minimum wages is when it can be offset completely by tips. Remember you also have to declare them as your wages as well so they are taxed. That and bartenders are not paid minimum wage, they are not baristas at a Starbucks, so they are paid more than that. Nor are people required to tip - it's a gratuity not an obligation. I have a friend who worked at a warehouse type store and has a forklift license. This was a place set out like a COSTCO, but he didn't work in that store and had all the inventory on warehouse shelves with about 10 ft between the shelves. Some idi0t left the keys in a forklift and a teenager took it for a ride. Cost almost 2 hundred thousand in damages and several injuries as he knocked down a shelf and caused a domino effect. The store got sued by all those injured and by the parents of the teenage joyrider for leaving the keys in the forklift. I was told the damages and settlements cost the company several million. The store had to shut down after a corporate audit into the management and training practices were found severely lacking. (Edit: This was not in the US by the way)

    In my opinion...
At eight minutes, they towed your car out of your garage? Let's see, Trespass, Criminal Trespass, Grand Theft Auto...
They mowed your grass... So, get a KEEP OFF THE GRASS sign and be sure to leave a few strands of aircraft cable in the grass, and I guarantee you that no one will mow it without permission more than once... Especially if you attach it to a pipe driven into the ground so the lawn mower is nailed to your lawn...
Part of my training in the Military was non-conventional warfare... Take a dish and mount a sub-woofer in the focal point. Point the dish at whatever house is your HOA target. Put a sign wave generator set at 5 Hz into a stereo amplifier. Point the dish at the house and turn it on. Within several days the occupants of the house will go insane. If they don't, turn up the volume.
If the HOA AH has a dog, get a Coyote caller that sounds like a wounded Rabbit. Trigger it for several seconds around 0230 in the morning. Their dog will go nuts. Repeat as necessary...

This is why most countries don't have "tipping" or if they do have it, they do not consider tips to be part of earnings for the purposes of setting minimum wages. Australia has no tipping culture (although in tourist areas they may have a "tip jar" so that American tourists can follow their custom) yet servers still generally do a good job, because it's literally part of the job to give good service and it's why they're paid a living wage.

Would have named all other board members, leaving her out, and put out that this was the board, with the one name redacted because they seem to think that their public service position is an absolute secret, and that they want to gatekeep any and all publicity about this board, so as to prevent any negative publicity, and thus as an editor you will not be naming the board member, but in future the school itself will not receive any mention in the newspaper either, and that any results involving them will be unpublished, aside from a mention of the other side winning a game, or losing one, and not a mention of the opposition.

In general the UK isn't a country where tipping is usually. Increasingly here you'll see on restaurant menus 10% tip included (or whatever amount, I've even seen 25%) but you aren't obliged to pay it, I think that the bosses rely on the British traditionally being reserved and not likely to remove it or challenge it.
The big difference between here and the US (and some other countries where tipping is common) is that the legal minimum wage is one that someone can (just) live on and businesses here can't include tips in the calculation of the wage.

The one about tipping the bartender-I'd be soooo tempted to go into the restaurant, ask for him to be my server and not leave a tip but leave cash right down to the penny

One of my friends had a severe issue with the HOA doing similar crap to him like the op in this story so when he got tired of it he donated his house to a major biker gang and all the HOA pieces of s*** so their houses and got the hell out of there turns out they had pissed off the biker gang and everywhere the HOA members went they bought houses there and harassed the hell out of them and they kept moving so did the biker gang paying 10 times the market value just to be their neighbors in several locations needless to say be careful who the hell you piss off because you don't know who the hell they know and who the hell their friends are and how big of a fight they're going to take out of your ass

If the HOA was pulling that crap on me I would leave my blinds wide open and walk around the house Naked I would get my friends to cruise the neighborhood late at night with their loud stereo thumping Base and turn around in the HOA board members driveway

When you have a crappy butt-hole HOA (or neighbors), cameras are a requirement, not an option. You should be discrete about the cameras. That way the butt-holes would keep up their actions and do something really illegal. And you have a super weapon for the court.

So besides selective enforcement of illegal rules, the HOA story doesn't have any compliance or any maliciousness.....
    Fail.

The stories for months now have just turned into "spineless people get screwed and do nothing about it", can't do it anymore after years of listening unsubbed. Quality has dropped all round.
