in fact cancelling normals into specials (which is foundation of B&B combos) was orginally a glitch and they just kept it as an integral part of the game
remember roll cancelling in capcom vs snk 2? any other video game community would have cried bloody mary, but our community just embraced it ^_^

@@dunsdonjone1537 One of the most beautiful things about video games are these unintentional properties that emerge, like your example, or bunny hopping in Quake, surfing in Counter-Strike, cover bouncing in Gears of War... I love when devs embrace them if they're interesting and fun. Such a cool thing with video games and how players interact with them.
@@LealFireball In the OG Xbox version they took out roll canceling, and the game was WAAAY worse. Every single cvs2 player at the time realized it contributes to the game massively for skill gap and interesting aspects

Although I am glad that nowadays games can be updated to fix core issues and balance characters out, I do kinda miss this situations where the game keeps getting explored and people just find new ways to make either strong characters even stronger or weak characters climb some tiers due to an exploit/glitch. Like, obviously neither Gambit nor Wolverine will be on par with monsters like Magneto and Storm, but now the gap between them is getting smaller, making it more possible for them to get a few wins out of them.

Marvel 2 reminds me of Smash Bros Melee. New things still getting discovered more than 20 years after release.
I love that. People are still figuring new ways in Mike Tyson's Punch Out to get stars and knock out faster too. Old gaming rules when it's gaming and not modern games of just mega cut scenes and pre-made actions to get to next cut scene.

Yet only 5 characters are viable, meanwhile the only wasted slot in all of MVC2 is MAYBE Roll and only maybe because her supers are usable despite her normals sucking.

I can only imagine the amount of new tech we're going to see when the collection actually comes out, probably both because all of the old Marvel games will be the most easily available they've ever been + we already know that there are both intended and unintended changes done to at least Marvel 2, if not every single game.
There was the one on PS3/360 I doubt much has changed besides the changes they made to glitches.
@@hugon6717 It's already been made public that not only did some of the game breaking glitches (like the Gambit one and the Rubyheart one) were removed and that Juggernaut's power up glitch doesn't work anymore, there are definitely going to be more changes, intended and unintended.

Watching this I realize the similarities between mvc2 and tatsunko vs capcom uas, in tvc uas I develop the unblockables back in...I think it was 2012 but I thought it was a baroque free thing only so I didn't pay it much mind, then realize it was a thing that didn't need free baroque, so I develop the unblockables and changed the game, it took the community years to implement my tech, but it's not a staple in competitive gameplay, the basis is that baroque freezes the screen for an instance, much like how it happens in mvc2 with dhc, it freezes it for a moment, in tvc uas, I discored that I could input 2 intances of baroque even though you can only baroque once because it uses the red life, but getting a second input tricks the game into thinking that a second baroque is being made, so if you input anything during that time, like a normal, the move would come out during that freeze time and hit the opponent, if the opponent is not in block animation the hit will connect, that means you effectively do an unblockable because the game doesn't lets you block for that freeze time, I believe the same concept applies here in marvel, but differently, when you dhc in mvc2, there's an instance where the screen freezes and saves the state of what is happening, but it doesn't register the block in the freeze time if the opponent is not getting hit, so it should work on a similar concept, block a move to be put in that state then move the laser to put a hitbox somewhere where the next frame you'll be hit, and then dhc to get that freeze time where the game is just saving the state of what is happening, if that's the case, and all it requires block move to not block, then everyone with moves that hit and later don't hit, could be use to get an unblockable.

This is why I love old fighting games communities, games like Super Smash Bros. Melee and MvC2 have such a die-hard fan base that they keep pushing the boundaries of what we thought the game was and changes into what we know today 💯🙌

I wonder if any of these are lowkey used with TACs. By that, I mean Tool Assisted Combos. I also wonder what version of the game they're using. It's possible the screen freeze glitch was removed in the final recision of the game which is what Capcom is using for the MVC collection.
We had mvc2 in our college arcade years back and a guy from my dorm had figured out the spiderman and spiral combos.

The cable sentinel dhc lsnt new its a well known unblockable setup but it's rarely used because setting it up is extremely difficult.

The son son assist in the gambit is to keep the combo going when he lands… these arent random infinites, the assists were placed there because theyre LITERALLY THE ONLY ASSIST THAT WORKS TO KEEP THE COMBO GOING. This guy most likely played the old game and remembered these infinites.. like i even saw on game faqs back in the day the infinites written out

do you think that we’ll see an increase of pad players playing at high levels in the new mvc2? or would stick still be the way to go for these games since they’re still technically “older” fighting games?
And if you typhoon you can break the super and only take a little punishment while dealing a better punishment and have a juggle set up.

FGC generally only bans things that mechanically interfere with tournaments, like glitches that freeze the game or stall the game so you have to wait for 00 seconds. Very few exceptions.
