Thanks for letting me know that once the P is visible I can shift into reverse to activate autopark immediately. However, if they're still allowing the ability to also press the P directly, this feature should work first time! If not they should remove the ability completely.

Auto park leaves some more space for driver seat🤔. I think the advantage is that the passenger can come out of the car first and the driver can park his/her car , and driver can can enter the car without squeezing through the door, after moving the car forward the passenger can enter.

Yes. No matter what you drive you need to park next to the nicest cars possible. They are unlikely to ding you as they don’t want to ding their door. I you drive a nice car you’re fuc*ed because of the above advice 😂
The reason the car only auto parks in the middle of two cars is because parking in between two cars is a bloody nightmare where as if you are parking in a place where there is no cars is super easy
My M3SR+ Is Oct 2019. The Autopark is lousy. It does not see open parallel spots but will find a short spot on the road as a vertical parking spot. It will find closed alley garage doors as a spot. Likewise in car parks. It simply doesn't see a spot even at a crawl. I simply haven't used it since my initial tests showed how lousy it was. When it does work at all it parks okay. But that's rare. As an aside, AP still squawks & drops out on the same routes today, as it did on first use. I paid for FSD too, so my hopes are waning now.
Thanks for the upload. I certainly wasn't impressed with the Autopark, especially on a Tesla. I have got a 2021 BMW, and it's autopark system is much more advanced than this.
It doesn’t seem like I’d use this option too often as when you have an expensive car you naturally like to park away from people that ding the doors. This seems to only park you in the middle of 2 cars. It would be really useful if it could park you anywhere between just the lines. But then it sound become a novelty rather than a convenience
Watching this, I feel like pressing the P doesn't actually do anything, rather it just automatically puts it into autopark if you stay stopped next to the space for too long, the proper way as most the comments are saying is just to put it into reverse when it shows up

It shouldn't go off of lines only since some cars are parked very close to lines. It is weird that the P doesn't respond right away, but maybe the Tesla was scouting its surroundings to calculate how to do the park? That's my only guess
For a few versions now, the contact point for the "P" button has been offset to the outside of the actual P image. So, you;'ll need to actually tap to the left/right of the P and it'll work every time. Hopefully they fix this soon.
You kept freaking out about the distance between cars, but every time you said it was too close to other cars, it seemed just fine to me. I've seen people park much, much closer, and it seemed to be pretty centered. Obviously when it tried parking on a curb, thats not good, but everything else you seemed to be freaking out over nothing. Still loved the video, showed the capabilities, you just seemed to be a bit harsh on it. Also, if I felt it was too close I would use the summon feature that drives it in and out of a garage or a tight spot, that way you don't have to worry about your spacing as much
Generally you should park on the nearside - better visibility when leaving. When parallel parking every time it chose the wrong side of the street (could be illegal after dark) is not good.
