  • This is the smallest of the Parker Vacumatics. The Debutante is slimmer and shorter than the Standard. This one restored beautifully and is for sale. Check the end of the video for information.

I love these restoration videos. I learn more about pens every time. And that was an especially beautiful intro.

Yes - yes we do! Especially when those musical introductions are done on such beautiful guitars.

I loved that you polished the underside of the nib. I respect the "If we have the opportunity to do a thing right, we should do it right" ethos.

Thanks. I think polished gold would flow ink better than old ink encrusted tarnished gold!

22:00 the thing I learned from figurine joint repair is to use a hand-turned pin vice and 1-1.5mm drill bit, carefully drill a hole only at the remaining stuck pellet, use a tight sized paperclip(can be roughened or even score some teeth with wire cutter) to the drilled hole on the pellet, and pull it out. Dremel/motorized hand tool is always too harsh for that job

Another beautiful restoration completed! Those little jingles or songs are very useful to imprinting information in your mind. I still remember the definition of MCH, ( Mean Corpusculer Hemaglobin ) MCV, ( Mean Corpuscular Volume) and MCHC ( Mean Corpuscular Hemaglobin Concentration ) from a Laboratory Techniques class I took in college. I had a particular difficulty remembering those, and so I sang them over and over, to myself and I aced the test.

Hey Doug. Not sure if you’ve heard, but yesterday Jinhao released a new pen called the 1935, with a guitar clip. Figured it would suit you and it’s only $15 USD.

Nice restoration. I noticed you skipped on an opportunity for a “That’s what she said.” I completely understand the need for restraint.

Nicely done, Doug. That the pen was partially restored was a plus.
Can you see the ink sloshing in the barrel without shining a light into it?

I damaged a cup and was able to take a heated ear tool (slightly spoon shaped) and melt the cup lip back into shape.

Thanks for another restoration show. They are invaluable for any enthusiast because by watching over your shoulder we gain a little of the know-how of that vanishing race, the full-time pen mechanic. BTW, lovely guitar; what make is it? Cheers from Taipan Teddy.

@@InkquiringMinds I'm more into the guitar music than the vintage pens. That Martin sounds great!
