Here we go with my full review of the 2020 Sherco 300 SEF Factory. It's certainly one of my all time favorite 4 stroke enduro bikes. It's got the best fork valving of any of the bikes I've ridden in the last year. In the video I will point out several things I really love about the bike and some things that they really need to improve upon.
Hopefully this will be helpful to many of you out there.

4:37 I would get the ecu mapping and TPS calibration checked if you are needing to crack the throttle.
I've owned two of these bikes now and ridden at least 5 others.
On my own bikes I've have jumped between ecu maps and updates (kindly uploaded by my dealer friend)
The idle is self managed and throttle is not required to start them once warm, and there are map updates that improve cold starting also.
5:00 That is the same for any other current 4 stroke efi motorcycle
Definitely agree with you on the forks and motor, perfect single track combination that leaves you smiling after the ride 👌
Agree with you on the air filter, if you have adult sized hands, it sucks - The factory has been told by many owners.
11:08 No force is required to release the fuel coupling
    - Tip Undo the pump wires and start the engine, this drains away the fuel pressure, the clip can easily be pushed down and the hose comes out.

Sherco is becoming new KTM :) my Sherco 2020 2t 300se factory is fantastic and my next 4t will be probably a Sherco as well to replace ktm 500 exc-f. Sherco motor and suspension have no competition today. Foot pegs position is really personal thing, higher pegs have some advantages too. Also these radiator plastic protection do actually work.

The trick to release the fuel line from the tank is to disconnect the plug to the pump, then push the starter butten. This will release the pressure in the fuelline and it will pop off really easy :)

I feel like talking crap on 450 dirt bikes is the cool thing to say these days in the dirt bike world… This video want even about the 450’s but still comments get slipped in. It really gets old, and just because you’re smaller and don’t like the weight doesn’t mean that it’s not right for someone else. And the big 4 strokes are making a lot of progress in their “lugability” and is getting a lot better.
I’m 6’4 weigh 240, and have been riding for the last 20 plus years. A 450 works great for me, is it heavier than a 2 stroke, or these new 300 4 strokes… sure. But really 15 pounds a lot of which is fairly low in the bike isn’t a deal breaker for me and really gives loads more power which I appreciate being a bigger guy. I know I’m not the only one that thinks this either, but a crap ton of dirt bike content producers today constantly talk down on them.

3/4 of the gripes here are more of a lack of knowledge than actual issues with the bike. Oil changes are much easier than you made it look, the plastic isn't brittle (iv only ever seen one broken handguard out of dozens of Shercos being raced), the air filter comes right in and out with only a quarter turn, the fuel coupler is simply a push the ring down and pull the fitting up- you forced it and broke it.. The cockpit may feel smaller yet 6'3" Cody Webb runs stock pegs where as he always used low pegs on his KTM. I'd like to make a rebuttal video soon. I do agree though it's a great motor, great handling, and the suspension is leaps better than KTM even cone valve..

Thats not a race/preformance bike. Its like a crf250L, super heavy and hardly any power. Its labeled as a dual sport bike. Kyle wouldn't be able to do any of the trails he currently does, with the klx300. It weights like 125 pounds more and i think is air cooled.

@@warrenstemphly5756 true it would be kinda cool but that not what kyle does. Say he bought one, most of his audience, probably at least 80%, wouldn't watch those videos cuz that not a race type bike. Also btw its a pretty well known thing in the motosports world that a used bike thats a few years old thats half the price is a crazy lot better than a new bike that doesn't fit ur riding style. If ur looking for a bike that is still raceable and fun then buy a used performance bike.

Understood totally, I’m not much of a rider and as much as I’d love a higher end bike, and could afford a Sherco, I know that as a newbie at age 47 I’ll never get anywhere near what the higher end bikes can do. A TTR230/KLX230 or CRF250F are in my future though and I’m sure that they will be able to do anything I’d ever want.

@@warrenstemphly5756, what are u looking to do with ur back once u get one? Maybe i can help u decide what one to get. Also where are u from cuz the condition can also affect what kinda bike ur gonna want. Like if ur doing single track woods in the upper midwest and u don't want like a ton of power but u still want a nice bike then its hard to beat the price of a honda crf250x. Lighter, electric start, not a ton of power. I have a friend whos 52 and only has riden for 2 years and he thinks that the 250x is the best bike for him. U don't need a newer one because they are all good, I'd get a 2008 and up one.

      1. You CAN change the oil with the skid plate on
      2. You can turn the air filter a quarter turn and it comes in and out of the bike very easy.
      3. You don't have to remove the case saver to remove the oil filter cover. It's very close but it does clear.

Those are a huge list of insidious, unacceptable maintenance bugaboos. So basically every single process you're going to do all the time, like change the oil and air filter, become so long and complicated it make people go far too long between services. If Sherco wants me to buy their bike they need to really think about all the regular maintenance items like that.

I have had lots and lots of bikes and this Sherco is the best bike I have ever owned by far. The air filter is not an issue, and the oil fill is easy if you just unclip the three springs and remove header, takes one minute and it gives you a chance to clean behind header and the header itself. On the trails it is amazing and you get so much more for your money in a lighter bike in the real world. All those KTM weights can be thrown out the window once you put all the accessories that the Sherco comes stock with, that are not on the KTM. Akro exhaust?? Have to add that to a KTM too...
