Nala left damayanti in the forest to fend for herself. Damayanti manages to reach her father's palace. She sends messengers in different directions in an attempt to find Nala. She sends a coded message through them which only Nala could answer. Parnadan goes to Rithuparnas Kingdom and spells out the coded message. A dark handicapped man answers the puzzle. Parnadan reports back to Damayanti. Almost certain that this man could be Nala himself, Damayanti decides to send Sudeva Brahmin to Rithuparnas palace with a compelling message so that Nala will turn up to see her. Sudeva in turn says I will reach there in 2 or 3 days maximum and convey the message of her second swayamvara to Rithuparna. Damayanti is shocked but gives silent approval since the intention is good.
