In this video I trained like Steph Curry for 7 days to improve my shooting. I used the Stephen Curry Masterclass to see how much I could improve my 3 point accuracy. The only experience I have with basketball is in high school gym class. So seeing a big increase in my shooting accuracy is shocking! I guess to be the best, you gotta train like the best NBA player in the world. Curry!

As a basketball player myself, I can say you definitely improved. I do have a tip though if you’re going to continue playing. When you’re shooting, try not to push the ball as much. Make sure your arm is straight up and not forward. If it’s forward it means your pushing the ball and it won’t be as accurate. It does require more legs in your shot though.
I’d suggest staying away from the 3pt line for awhile, and just work shots around the basket. Your layup looked really good by the way!! I hope you see this…
ive been playing bbal for 6 years competitively and the first thing my personal trainer told me when shooting is to actually shoot in the paint you need reptition the rule is ALWAYS
paint, key, freethrow, midrange THEN 3s
so shoot from the paint first with a proper jumpshot
@@bangeyboi2143 yes definitely. Going out to the 3 point line right away is the perfect way to ruin your jumpshot
@@safireowl lmao kids at my hs shoots 3s like theyre chucking boulders/upperhand rick barry
@@bangeyboi2143 no way really?? Mine too! There’s one who I swear never practices and then just comes into the gym and starts chucking half courters 😂
@@safireowl lmaoooo tbh every new guy is chucking 3 pointers this is how steph curry revolutionised the game of bbal making new kids chuck deeps LMAOOOO
no one shoots midranges
Bro, Hafu’s been grinding side quests, successfully too, great stuff man, love your content

You have definitely improved, but you need to stop turning when you shoot and you need to make use of that other hand to support the ball when you shot. That would just make your shot straighter and your percentage would just go up.
His footwork would also help alot with his shooting percentage, mainly by pointing his feet toward the basket while he shoots.
So True
you use one hand to shoot not two
@@owenwells1887 you need to support your other hand, if not it will be less accurate, and harder to shoot
@@nyantuoi Do you shoot with two hands, if so, who taught you to shoot and also you do need to support the ball, but you don't shoot with both hands.
This video is underrated. I love this video! It gives me motivation to play basketball. Thanks Hafu and have a great day :)

so hafu a little tip for accuracy and release is move your knees slightly to the side so that you can release the tension around the shoulders
just as a general tip 😅 you don’t need to jump on a free throw. For shooting, you should be focusing more on having the ball in your shooting pocket (with your arm bent around 90 degrees and the ball somewhere around your hips), raising it up in front of your face, and then extending your elbow and then flicking the wrist. By the time your legs and body are straight up on a jump shot, the ball should be in front of your face (not on top of your head) from there you just extend your elbow focusing aiming in the middle of the basket
It depends on your height where the ball should be in front of your face or on top. Since steph is tall he releases the ball on top of his head. Harden shoots infront of his head.
as a person who is short I need to jump to shoot from free throw
thanks

The quality of your videos are rising and so is your popularity, don't forget us when you're at the top brother
I guess this means you became a sniper from the three point range
that’s some mad improvement
Great quality work
as every baller ever says i think to improve ur shot is not just to keep shooting threes or freethrows but rather go directly infront of the basket and practise the perfect shot after alot of practise make it further and further from the basket to shoot accurately
In my opinion the best way to improve your shot is to stand at the half court line and chuck the ball at the rim with your eyes closed and backwards
you're trolling right?@@adrianabritt365

At this point, you're a pro athlete, Hafu 💪🏽 Sebastian came prepared for free ice cream 😂😂😭"in the hoop bro!" 🤣😭☠️ Sheldon's defense strategy worked looool Steph Curry would be proud of you and the progress you made in a week🙌🏽
When you shoot combine your shooting release from to your jumping. Basically jump + shot = jumpshot, combine them time the moment you pump your hip to jump to the moment you perform a shooting form. Combine both of them and you'll get thr hang of it
Timestamps that include master class (I didn't include all the days lol I may update it later but I am not sure)
DAY ONE
Shooting Around the 3-point line (Shoot 5 times in each point) - 0:27
Bounce and catching tenis ball - 1:19
Bounce and chatching + Between (also with tenis ball) - 1:35
DAY FIVE
Read our defender
Right foot is the lean foot (idk if it is for everyone)
Tips from Steph Curry:
1: Turn your toes to the rim
2: Put ball in pads of fingertips when shooting
3: Aim for the hooks at the front of the hoop
4: Finish shooting with your elbow above your eye
5: Full release/gooseneck
Big tips from Steph:
1: Make 5 makes in front of rim and take a big step back repeat process (added part for me, once you get to 3 point line then you go to a different angle (Do 100 makes and around 5 angles)
Look bro half of those tips curry says he dosent even use, watch him play he is literally shooting differently in games, and also make your own drills these drills are kinda weak if you wanna get good fr
@@yesyes9943 I’m watching other videos for skill, I made this comment knowing that the skills in the video weren’t that good since it was about this RUclipsr getting better at basketball but simply wrote some notes down for fun and I am only gonna use two things but thank you for responding.
bro did not care about the game he played
@@AhmadFarel-yi9np this was from one yr ago lol for class
Your left hand might have went way to into the back so it doesnt make your ball go straight as your left hand doesnt follow the ball all the way to the shoot which is essential for straightness when shooting and when looking at a rim it goes straighter and doesnt let a little bit of hand movement to ruin the shoot and make it go left or right
Great work, I would say your 3 pt shot can be fixed two ways either you leave it the same but focus on shooting off the balls of your feet or you can bring the ball a little more over your right shoulder
Just a little pointer for your layup. To layup with your right hand, take off with your left foot That would make your right foot lifted as you do your right hand layup. Layup with your left, take off with your right foot.
Love your video, you did great through the 7 days.
Good job keep it up
Good improvement but I recommend that when you are about to shoot, don’t pause cause the shot needs to be fluid. Also when your releasing the ball the ball is to low below your head, try being the ball to your right eye 90degrees and release towards the up
Nice I can tell that you actually improved!👍👍
Hi hafu. I really love ur vids and I know something that can help. When I saw your day seven shooting. I noticed that when ever you shoot your left hand aka guarding hand gets left behind and your shooting hand go’s early than your left. So when you shoot. The left hand should guide the shooting hand so that the ball will go straight and you will have a better chance of making it. Hope this helps ❤
Always appreciate people that try many things, but for any of yall thinking about picking up a masterclass like Hafu, I suggest you think again. Most times these things are based on the assumption that you have a somewhat sound enough foundation, those drills are extremely difficult and should be used to supplement your grind to getting on a whole new level, but are inefficient for completely new players. Most skills from sports can be self-taught simply by watching and replicating and of course playing the sport, the only real time you need to be coached is when you've hit a roadblock.
New players, I suggest you start getting your shooting form right, we see that hafu improved his shooting percentage, but his form stayed quite wrong. This is also part of the reason why he couldn't shoot with a defender on him, because his form takes too much time with unnecessary movement to put the shot up. Then learn simple dribble moves and simple off the dribble shots. Simply slow down any video of a good shooter and you'd be able to do it. Honestly I don't even think any actual training should be done, since once you take something too seriously you tend to lose enjoyment. Enjoy the game first, and just do moves you see in them as many times as possible, you'd be shocked at how fast you learn and how much fun you'll have.
Always try to enjoy the process first, hafu did a great job at being positive through this use that as the takeaway!
thanks for the awesome tips!

One of the best
I think u should do this training more often and the more time u train the more shots u make but u should practice ur dribble
For basketball 7 days is too short a period of time. U need to get ur shooting touch, handles, finishing, and the way u use ur power to shoot from far away. Try 7 weeks or even 7 months if u are dedicated to doing this
I've been playing since I was 8 your right this takes month if not years to get good

He just said mj was still the best basketball player
As a curry fan, I agree
Great improvements, but you need to work more on your shooting form and jumpshot, you gotta have your arm facing up not forward because it will be short if you just push the ball forward. If you have your arm facing up it would push the ball upward and get a better arc and would be more precise
You also gotta put your hands in the correct place. Put your pushing (dominant) hand on top and your guide hand on the bottom side part of the ball.
Excited about free throw

Hafu is such an perfect example for modern generations...
He does everything shallow, for a short time and doesnt follow through because he starts with something else.
Does it intense looses motivation (at least he carries through for the videos).
Yeah he is kinda very nice personality but bro.
I mean i only started watching him becuase I train Martial arts espacially shaolin kung fu and for us its all about carrying through.

I can tell he doesn’t play a lot because of the way he handles the ball

Very good job! But you should train hard that shoot mechanic! Nice improve!
The most necessary thing you need to do is improve your basic skills, like holding and controlling the ball, which is really significant!
I think you improved alot . And have a good life
I play basketball professionally and as I see it with you it would be good if you put your left hand away before you throw and your fingers have to point straight to the basket because yours is much better in accuracy
9:56 i noticed as he brings the ball up he starts to get lower which is wrong. You wanna have your knees bent in the beginning and sync your knees with the ball so as you bring the ball up your knees go up too
that starting jumpshot is wet like water 💧
You are progressing much faster than me in 7 days but me has been training for almost a year
bro really said "The best basketball player of all time"💀
Hola me parece curioso lo provare esta semana 👌🏻
Best player indeed 🙏
You improved a lot, but here are some tips for shooting: instead of having your feet face the hoop, you should have them angled to the left a little to make your elbows/arms more square to the hoop (this would help your accuracy). You should also stop straining yourself when you shoot (obv ik for some people it’s different) but you should shoot from 5 feet out and make 50 of those in a row to build up muscle. Another thing is to stop turning yourself after your release, this would help for accuracy as well and to build up muscle (again). I would also suggest to stop doing a jumper while shooting FTs, instead raise your toes to add power to your shot. Hope these tips help!
Your good you are not bad just keep practicing
I like that when you miss it you don,t give up
