Both solos are very Vinnie. . .lol. . . Seems like the Modern drummer festival version was more chops-centric as you would expect considering he was playing to a room full of drummers. . . .The second was more about exploration as he would most likely do on a tour. Have to say I really enjoyed the modulation and play with time in the second solo. Vinnie plays so fast and dense in most solos it is really pleasurable to hear him do some slower and oddly elastic figures. He seems to be playing with stretching and compressing the time using some very interesting polyrythmic runs at times. . . .just one of the best for sure! Thank you for the interesting drum content. I think he's the best drummer of all time
Different night, different solo. Still it's Vinnie, and he's still one of the baddest cats out there.
Very underrated
Underrated by who? Most drummers regard Vinnie as one of the best to ever pick up a pair of drum sticks.
