my big brother passed yesterday at the tender age of 30, found inside his apartment after not taking calls, authorities said it was self inflicted , excuse me but i refuse to use that word. Back then he would play this game for me and i used to think he was the coolest person ever, he still is. Such a kind hearted, caring and respected brother for all of us.

I have to give Blitz Games credit for this game. Its really good albeit flawed, follows the movie well whilst expanding on different parts and the sound design is near perfect as its taken from the film. The voice acting is abysmal but its so enjoyable to listen to. I might give this game a try one day.
I remember my dad buying me the movie & game as a bundle at Blockbuster in Dec of 2001! Definitely need to replay this game again! Enjoyed a lot as a kid!

As to the OP. This game was an early title. Sure it's not as pretty as Dark Cloud, MGS2, Gran Turismo 3, Final Fantasy X, or Silent Hill 2... but those were some of the best looking games of the time. The Mummy Returns released loooking pretty good. Top end of the spectrum for gamees back then but not groundbreaking.

I really really wish they would remaster the mummy 1 and the mummy returns video game for xbox, PC, and PlayStation etc. The games were sooo fun! Just imagine how sick it could be if they were to remake it! Also The Mummy Returns was so cool for letting you be able to play as Imhotep! That was Awesome!

Personally the first level pissed me off because of the arrows room. Like there were only a very few times I got past it but beyond that, I never really understood how to go through it. Most of the times I did get past it (albeit very few times as mentioned earlier) it was out of luck.
I barely got to the moment where they get into first room with mummys,like 1 or 2 times,but still it's very nostalgic to watch this video

Left 4 Dead needed a mod where rick, Evelyn, ardeth, and jonathan use period accurate weapons to battle thru swarms of people infected with those boils and sores, mummy priests, mummy royal guard, swarms of scarabs, giant scorpions, pigmies, those red robed bad guys who resurrected imhotep, bandits like the ones who imhotep drank in the train, and jackal warriors. You can fight thru downtown cairo, fort brydon, the jungle oasic of hamshere, a river boat on the nile, and above and below hamunaptra.
STILL BETTER Then that "Mommy Demastered" Heresy Of Tom Cruise And Such.

Even though the movie was painfully average, this was a surprisingly decent game. I mean sure the technicalities doesn't hold up in this day and age but to be honest, this is a hidden gem for its time.

I still remember this game because as a kid, I almost finished it but I just couldn't beat Scorpion King in the end and didn't even know how, since I had no internet back then. After a week of trying and one smashed controller, I had to return it to my friend and never got to play it again. I'm glad that PCSX2 exists, I will have to make another attempt someday.

I've always recomended not to play games based on movies because to me they are ruled by the rush of the market and that's not a good formula. I don't know how it went for this particular game in its PS1-PS2 transition, but for what it comes to its preview: "The Mummy" (1) for PS1... i can make an exception

Mega hit movies turned games, some were hit but some were worst failure. Lord of the rings, Jurassic park, mummy, da vinci code like games has poor graphics. Enjoyable ones are Evil dead regeneration, pirates of the carribbean, resident evil series, van helsing, Narnia and others.
