i see this is a year old and i just got one as a gift. While putting it together I found the instructions lacking on which way to install the plate that connects the top to the bottom. I attached it the same way as you did but it pushes you forward in that configuration. Then i saw the instructional video from killabee on how to assemble it and the plate should be reversed. Then when you release the lock it doesnt push forward, it just stops where it should.
I just got my chair yesterday and 100% the Castors are trash! I have the Rollerblade one's to swap out so its not a huge deal for me. I got it for 204.00 US so I also got a 40.00 $ gift card (newegg) I cant complain . I had a 170.00 chair and it just went flat like sitting on the plywood in 2 years . I am hoping this one with the 400 lbs weight limit will actually hold up.

I agree about the castors, they need replacing! Chair is comfortable, but makes you sweaty as it doesn’t breathe.
