  • For the Lulz! This is the closest to "Plug and Play" i've gotten with any 3D printer yet.
Audio missing from 10:23, that's just the usual "stay tuned, like, subscribe and watch this video next". Not sure why that keeps happening, the last video had the same issue before a reupload...

Loving the new setup! I like having the second angle a lot. Also enjoyed having 200% more grunts and live reactions in this video!

Maybe you could show us a short close up of the finished printed rocktopus next time, that would be great. Nice videos so, cheers.

My first thought when watching this video was finally a retail like packaged 3D printer that appears to work great and looks decent. Then I went to the site and found the price was $1350; man that is really expensive :(

"Auto leveling closes a circuit" Are you saying the hotend tip acts as a limit switch to close the circuit for auto leveling the bed?!

Thanks for the reply Tom! May I ask for a schematic/firmware tweak or component I need to buy? I have a build area of 40 x 45 x 40cm, and having such a feature would be amazing!

firearmsstudent Lulz Bot support explained that g29 is used when the circuit closes. Add this to your firmware to use the command "g29" when the probe closes the circuit, sending coordinates back to the control board!

+Thomas Sanladerer It seems the cleaning procedure may be a required step for the circuit to close properly.

Yeah, I love that auto leveling and cleaning of the Mini too.

Interesting to see use of the closed electrical circuit on the pads at the 4 corners used for leveling.
I'm using an aluminum bed. So I actually contemplated whether it would be possible to do something like that. Not necessarily for auto-bed tramming but as an extremely precise way of running a bed leveling wizard or calibrating an inductive probe.

I just bought my first 3D printer today. It is the printrbot metal with hot plate. I hope you do a comparison between this and your other printers. I like those types of videos.

Last 20 seconds have no audio. Nice video though in your new 'studio'. Funny to see you look at the other camera angle sometimes.

Needing to be tethered at this price point is not cool

Could one print out the wipe tray, buy their wipe material, and some how make it work on non lulzbot printers? I would love to have this on my Robo3D if its simply G-Code commands

    • @nonmindo
      @nonmindo 9 лет назад

THANKS!! I even found on the lulzbot forums the gcode they used for the clean sequence :) I'll have to give up a little of my print area but the guys over on the robo forums say the y axis only has a 8.2" heated area anyway even though its capable of 10" so I shouldn't loose too much print area :)

Tom, would the mini be a good first time printer for someone new to 3D printing?

    • @chrisyoung8062

+Thomas Sanladerer Realizing they are printers with different capabilities, would you say the Lulzbot MIni would be as easy to get started with as the Play?
