I know it is called Sohei but the interpreteration is that of an oni. The face and the mask are monstrous and hideous. Truly a well made piece
Yes, with the horns and hideous mask etc, Maul definitely would have fit the term Oni for sure! I guess they picked sohei as the warrior monk and gave him the beads too. Either way, it's definitely a fantastic figure.

Fantastic figure. The face sculpt is so menacing and intimidating. He should come with the severed head of Jar Jar Binks.

Kool Kollectibles Without a doubt it would be Ronin Samurai Boba Fett. The entire series has stunning attention to detail, but Fett has a little extra with so much variation and accessories. You got a favourite?

Thanks to your videos i've now got a bunch of these. Two Ashigarus, a yumi ashigaru, teppo ashigaru and the taikoyaku and a Vader. Trying to find a legit Boba Fett but they're mostly chinese fakes. Got one of those off eBay and it's stupidly loose and missing most of the detailed paint apps. Shame we can't buy them in Australia. Popcultcha has one but they want $200 for it ...
Nah, never buy these types of figures from Australian retailers! They will be way over priced as it's not really mainstream. It's definitely best to order direct from Japanese retailers like Amiami or Hobby Link Japan. For those figures that are Tamashii exclusives that Japanese retailers might not sell, I then pay the extra and order from Big Bad Toy Store.

Are there any plans to do any of the Clone Troopers to compliment Darth Maul, as he seems kind of out of place next to the other figures that are from the Original Trilogy? I suppose he will go alongside Jango Fett though.
I have not seen any concept art of clone troopers for this series. They only just teased concept art of the FO Stormtroopers. I hope they follow through on their original concept art and make the Scout Trooper too!

How would they do Yoda? I was thinking maybe some sort of irremoveable menpo mask so it looks like someone's playing the yoda character. I'm not to sure though. I would like more of a ragtag look for the jedi's. Any ideas.
I cant remember if Bandai have actually shown concept art of a Yoda, but I think the general thinking is if they did do one, it would be one of those old Japanese wondering monks or little weird creatures that you see in some anime (like the little on in Ninja Scroll).

BBTS is taking a bit long in getting their stock in this time. They still dont have their Jango either. So I got too impatient and ordered directly from Japan this time lol

Bricks and games use Nippon Yasam and pick the three week shipping option you don't pay customs I paid £62 for maul including shipping.

I had a quick question for ya mate. I bought this exact Darth Maul figure at a Barnes and Nobles the other day and when I pulled him out, the socket that keeps his waist connected is to big for the ball to fit into. Any suggestions?
Not sure how that's possible?! Was the waist separated when you unboxed it?! I'd recommend heating up the socket end with hot water or a hair dryer and then try to insert ball end. But if it really came disassembled out of the box, I'd go and get a replacement or refund.

Wow, that sounds band. Strange that Bandai would box this up with a separated waist. Their QC is usually much better than that. I'd take it back to where you bought it and ask for an exchange.

*Arghh my left elbow joint snapped off! This is so poorly made, my WWF figures last longer. But overall it does look really good.*
Wow that's a shame! I've never had any joints on these figures be so tight they felt like breaking. In the future if you come across that situation, I'd recommend putting the joint in some very hot water for 5 seconds to soften it. That normally allows the articulation to free up.

not the black piece the red blade. it unplugs from the silver piece from the gold part of the hilt. its a plug the same color as the blade

That's weird. I was trying to take it off from the silver part, so lucky I didnt try too hard and snap it off! The instruction manual doesnt show it, so I dont think it's meant to come off.

I googled it, and there are pictures of sohei warrior monks with those kinds of shoulder pads. So it would seem Bandai are correct in their interpretation of Darth Maul here as a warrior monk.
