I wish Jakob a speedy recovery and the return of the best RUclips editor. Yesterday, I finished reading Assassin's Apprentice and We Are the Dead-two great books. I'm currently reading Rendezvous with Rama and Royal Assassin.👍

I've heard great things about it so I'm very excited!
YES! I’m so happy you are loving Curse of the Mistwraith! WoLaS is going to ROCK YOUR WORLD! And I agree with what you said, Janny’s prose is so exacting that it teleports you straight into her world and just makes you a part of it as you watch these characters do these things. It’s just amazing! Also, you’ve now convinced me to read Chain Gang Allstars at some point- I thank you but my infinite TBR does not. I am soooo looking forward to your read of Kingdoms of Death. It marks a very profound turning point in the series and absolutely devestating while also bringing certain themes that will become very crucial to the series going forward. KoD is, I think, my personal favorite Suneater book. There are so many scenes that live rent-free in my head from it. Spectacularly inportant to where the series is going and I think it will be the book people look back on in the series as the one that is most pivotal in Hadrian's arc as a character.

Sending prayers and well wishes to the Boy Wonder. I hope he feels better. So many people are under the weather lately, including myself. Thanks for putting me onto Adjei-Brenyah. I look forward to reading more of him. I was pleasantly surprised at how much each of our opinions aligned on Chain-Gang All-stars.
The thing that strikes me with Curse of the Mistwraith is that every word has the intent of painting every part of the scene in your mind. People have talked about how dense it is and needing a dictionary, but it's dense to me because the detail of visualization makes me stop and absorb it. Loved Kingdoms of Death. It's amazing how much he continues to flesh out this story.
Best wishes to Jakob, I hope he gets well soon! Coincidentally, I'm in the middle of a pretty awful cold that's put me entirely out of commission for the last couple days, so I'm quite glad Mistwraith is a reread; I'm still not functional enough to process the prose and am getting behind. I'll be starting chapter 7 eventually. What I have been reading this week is A Wind in the Door by Madeleine L'Engle, for the first time since I was a kid. I have a lot of quibbles with her writing, but when it's good, it's very good. Also started rereading the first Spice and Wolf light novel, by Isuna Hasekura, yesterday as purely a comfort read while I wait for my sinuses to stop attacking me. Anyway, looking forward to the rest of the month!

20% the way through COTM and I am obsessed! The highlight of my reading was chapter 3. That chapter is one of the best meditations on the nature of hatred I’ve come across. I also love how Wurts makes every sentence so important. I’m currently balancing this book with 4 others. I’m in the process of finishing up Franz Werfel’s Star of the Unborn (very much another good example of transcendental SF), Ian Tregilis’s The Mechanical, Barbara Kingsolver’s The Poisonwood Bible, and Robin Hobb’s Assassin’s Quest. The good news is that all of these reads are amazing! I will also say I would not mind a book club with the Mrs selection down the road covering The Poisonwood Bible. I’m reading it through with my mom and it’s been a ride to say the least… so many thoughts for only being 50 pages in.
