You are right. It would be extremely easy to drill two holes for 240/280mm rad to be installed at the front while keeping the bottom cage for mechanical drives. The issue here is the lack of user flexibility from the start, as with any type of appropriate mod you can turn a piece of junk into functional chassis. Also the main issue with the front intake are the thick and extremely restrictive cage walls that wont let any air penetrate.
I recently got this case and its fantastic, best I've ever had. My full spec is... AMD 990fx Mb, AMD FX6300 cpu, 2gb GTX 760, 240 SSD for windows, 320 and 1tb HDD's 650W Corsair PSU and 16 gb DDR3 Ram (1600mhz) Runs like a dream. Plenty of room inside the case.
What if you used the radiator bracket to hold just fans and just put nuts on the back of the screws to hold the fans down. Then you would get less resistance. And you could just use the bottom front drive cage
Since i have the case, you can do that, and you can also use 2 more hdd's on the top. (no need for nuts btw) (Also that way there's space in between for an extra fan to blow directly on your gpu)
was going to get this to replace my Cosmos 1000 however im not impressed. The Cosmos ultra is too big I wish they would bring back the Cosmos 1000 but with some design updates.
I was into this case until the front intake area was shown. Having good fans means nothing if airflow cant get into or out of case. Seems like certain aspects were not thought out, like the whole front panel area.
Hi. I have that case but full black with I7 4770k cooled by Cooler master V8 ( first version) temp 35C on idle and 59 full load with stock fans. I do agree about the tight space ; I had to do some gym stuff to fit 2 of the 4 GTX 770 DirectU II Asus card ( they are ver big and heavy , but despite the bad case layout they are nicely cooled at 45C on idle and 69 -71 full load. The worst part of the case is probably the front ;personally i preferred if they move the rack for DVD at the bottom or completely remove , or make a side acces to the dvd player ; by doing that u probably have space for 3 fans on the front and fully optimize the air flow or a radiator. Also the 3 panels on the top of the front are super fragile ; i broke all of them just by pulling them off to plug a mechanical HDD and the dvd ( wich i no longer use) .But man this Case is still sexy 😍.
Yeah, I was at Fry's messing with this case, they got a bunch in stock which makes me wanna get it right then and there since I can just open box and check and see if it's 100% new, nothing broken or missing rather than wait from Newegg. But fiddling with the HDD cage system, it's too difficult than it needs to be, the CPU cutout is still too small, and a rad wouldn't fit inside with a DVD drive installed at the 1st 5.25" bay. Really disappointed, looks so dope but lacks many features like you said Dmitry.
Good review as always! Do you guys think you can get your hands on the Cooler Master Silencio 352? Looks like a really sweet enclosure, with lots of features for a small case and with a good price also.
I was just taking a look at this case for a compare against my Antec1100 and So far my antec in my opinion is better. Its a simple design but it just works , Had it now for a couple of years and I still have no complaints.
What a complete letdown... Unbelievable. I was so looking forward to buying this chassis for my new build, especially that I'm digging the style and look of it so much. How can Cooler Master royally screw up with this? I guess I'll be going for the Air 540 from Corsair then..
I have got one of these. I bought it becasue of the 2 top handles and the 2 legs. Its so easy to pick up and carry around. But they don't seem to make it anymore. And there so few cases with handles nowadays. Why?
I bought one of these about 12mths ago. Love it. It has some limitations, the most obvious is the idiot who designed the front fans to have the top one half blocked by the drive panel, a simple mesh would have fixed that. But, really this case is still running cool inside anyway. The reason I bought it was because it dropped a Nepton 280L straight to the top without any hassles and I loved its looks. It does fit my EVGA 770 Classies but you sacrifice a lot of HDD/SSD compartments in the process. Overall I am quite happy with it tho. It fits an ATX board with Nepton 280L and 2SSD's and one HDD, 2x EVGA 770 Classies, Antec HCG 900 PSU, Blu Ray player, etc, with more room yet to play with.
Awesome case for Hackintosh aesthetics with a shiny black bit apple on the window, but otherwise a pain for a majority of the crowd that would spend this kind of $$$ for a case. I got a GA-Z97-HD3 that's not wide at all, and it fit with room for easy cable management. And the GTX760 fit properly as well.
Just curious, but Looking at the video, it looks like if you had 3 brackets, you could install 2 fans, without the Radiator (the 3rd would go where the 2 fans touch) so you could remove the HDD cages to clear up the air flow. Has it been tried?
I don't know what coolermaster was thinking when they were making this case????? the case looks badass from the outside but i found some problem in this case like what is the point from the useless 3d drive cad its totaly useless and its blocking the airflow...and more problems, i was planing on this case but after i watched this video i changed my mind...with respect to cooler master you disponted me...
And that's why they still sell cases with such design flaws... It's not about not knowing how to drill, dude, it's about being functional as you buy it.
Hellu HardwareCanucks! Im looking for a case which fit ATX motherboards, and have good options for making it a silent & air cooled build with Corsair h100i. Which would you recommend?
I don't get why so many manufacturers keep trying to reinvent the wheel for drive cages. I want some innovation sure but by god what were they smoking when they came out with that entire front set up? At no point during design did anyone notice that it was a complete mess?
this case is a failure. it's like it wasn't finished and they released it anyway. front fan is partially blocked, the bottom has a grill and dust filter, but no fan mount possible. the drive cage system is awful (though the dual mounting for HDD/SSD is a great move) and this case is the size of budget mid towers like the storm scout and N600 inside.
Might buy this or the Corsair 650D. Not sure yet. The 650D sides come off so much easier with those latches, and I am (unfortunately) in my case at least a few times per week so that might be a deal breaker for me with this one. Thoughts anyone?
I realize that. But I've yet to see anything out on the market that has the the same ease of use as the 650D (latches, number of rubber grommets, side window not grille, etc.) PLUS the sleek body. Granted the Phantom series looks good, but not in a classy way IMO. The bonus is that it is only 129 after rebates at present. I'm more than up to my mind being changed though, if you have a particular case in mind. :)
What is the point of the 3rd drive bay? anyone?? I really don't get it. You cant add a drive in there cos of the fan. What's it used for? Is it just me. I don't get it. And that bottom intake? Seriously? I have been waiting for months for this case, what a huge disappointment. I'll be getting the 550d instead.
I love size and look, but that entire front area is a massive dump of fail. They should have just done the cages like corsair 600T and it would be no problem.
PornDude: wants this for storage, doesn't even have a graphics card, lots of screwless drive bays, great case for PornDude. GamerDude: using hdds? more likely SSDs on the side mounts at top and bottom of drive cages at the rear panel! Would completely remove all bay cages, removing all restrictions he is complaining about, graphic card length or airflow. ModDude: Also would completely remove the drive bays so no problem there for watercooling or maybe leave 1 drive mount to mount the reservoir. A single Rad should go on top where the dude in the video put a fan, if you can afford more than 1 rad then you probably bought the wrong case! Also not everyone has such a long ass 1000watt PSU like in the video Review is a bit bias man, target market is budget to medium range. High end get a Cosmos2 or 900D or even an HAF stacker if space is all that matters
hey guys iam planing to use a 'Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme Water Cooler' sooo from what i just watched, will be there a problem using it with this case??
Who's going to buy this? The space is not well used in my opinion. Great review as usual. We need more innovation with cases (I think the motherboard standards situation is partly to blame), it's getting too repetitive.
Uh, yeah any graphics card on the market will fit in this thing unless you want to mount the full 18 SSDs or 8 full sized hard drives. I have a card with 3 120mm fans on it and it requires removal of the first plastic HDD mount cage from the bottom, but only barely needed that clearance. The manual allows a 395mm graphics card.... So... Name me a card that big. Mine is the largest I've ever seen at around 295
I could pay full price for this case or pay 10$ for a refurbished cosmos ll.. who wouldn't pay the extra 10$$ this case just doesn't bring what cosmos series has brought in the past
Wow cooler master did a awful job on this case.it shows its maid for micro atx mobo case just to tight to put a lot of hardware in it at all. Phanteks enthoo pro for 99 dollars is much better case around. Great video as always....
anyway it's "depends of your wallet", if you have an extra money, don't go to Cosmos SE, just buy Cosmos II, you will got plenty of space and full feature of cosmos case than this.
I can slowly see CoolerMaster dieing in the case market... I see mainly Corsair (altho i don't know why because their quality sucks) Fractal and Phanteks take over the case market...
***** It fits everything you want to fit in. The major concern is air flow (if you're using air cooling). And if you use water cooling, you'll not be able to use the first 5.25" drive.
***** The case is great quality and rock solid. and it LOOKS GOOD!! people need to learn everything cannot operate itself. Stop being so american. Who in their right mind is going to use all hdd bays and use watercooling? Like holy cow has this reviewer any fucking clue what he is talking about? I can run two ssd's behind the case without anyone even being able to see them. 100% out of the way. Then there is the lower caddies to hold traditional Hdd's. and I can have massive length gpu's with ease. Sure like in the video if your going to spend serious money on water cooling you can have issues but for the love of fucking god. Who spends thousands on watercooling and doesn't equally spend on the case? LOL
***** Ah I mistaken you for someone wise, If you're so set on telling people what they actually mean. When clearly it's not our intention. The only way that idea in your head exists is from YOU. and If you think only 200 dollars of watercooling can fit into this case you literally have to be using the shit inside your rectum for a brain. I do not recommend this as you tend to spew shit everywhere. This is what you ask of a case. Does it look good? Is it of high quality? and is it functional for what I need it to do. For many people this may be the case they are visually attracted too. and I can speak for its quality and say its rock solid. But the last decision you seem to be confusing. For 98% of people. This case WILL do what they need. Are they a gamer? a modder? what is it? But there's always that 2% that want to be it all. And for your pc to do it all would cost you A LOT of money. So in retrospect why not also spend more on the case? No one is going to use all the hard drive cages and watercooling. You would have to want a very specific configuration in this case to start noticing its functional drawbacks. And those people are a very small fraction of the people buying this case. There are other cases on the market that do what they want. But to say avoid this case at all costs is just stupid.
I was waiting to see what this case has to offer, but quite frankly, it's one big let down. BOOO for cooler master. This case reminds me why I don't really like their products.
I can slowly see CoolerMaster dieing in the case market... I see mainly Corsair (altho i don't know why because their quality sucks) Fractal and Phanteks take over the case market... CoolerMaster is not really thinking innovative and it looks like they are not even thinking about case ideas anymore...
best case ever ! , looks is were it is baby ! , ya it is not a ez build case i just did one, and i hatted it, it suck big , but !!! it is all done now , and i love it ! after all it is just going to set there on my desk, so i can gaze at it's marvels and wonderment while drinking a big fat cooler master beer , now they only need a micro cooler master case for mini itx , then life would be couplet ! in cooler master heaven , ,
You are right. It would be extremely easy to drill two holes for 240/280mm rad to be installed at the front while keeping the bottom cage for mechanical drives. Can't wait to see the HAF Stacker review. Keep up the great work.
It got really hard to find a good case.
check out the h440
***** I looked at the h440 before. I find it really nice and I don´t care about ODDs. A full tower version of this would be amazing.
Lars Reviews ok, i have the hafx, but im going to buy myself the h440 together with my new build ^^
***** Will the new system be intel or amd based?
Lars Reviews my old is amd based. my nwe is going to be intel based
Agreed!
I was into this case until the front intake area was shown. Having good fans means nothing if airflow cant get into or out of case. Seems like certain aspects were not thought out, like the whole front panel area.
As an owner of a Storm Scout 2, I've had so much hope for this case as they share similar characteristics.
Hi. I have that case but full black with I7 4770k cooled by Cooler master V8 ( first version) temp 35C on idle and 59 full load with stock fans. Exactly. Looks so cool, like a smaller original Cosmos but such disappointing and limiting features.
as you can see in 6:40 there is something that might light am i right or wrong because mine doesnt is there something missing in my pc build?
Awww, I was hoping that those front optical drive covers were hot-swap caddies like in server chassis... Would've made a good server case.
Good review as always! Do you guys think you can get your hands on the
Cooler Master Silencio 352? Looks like a really sweet enclosure, with lots of features for a small case and with a good price also.
great review as usual, covered all my questions! Thanks
I was just taking a look at this case for a compare against my Antec1100 and So far my antec in my opinion is better. Its a simple design but it just works , Had it now for a couple of years and I still have no complaints.
Someone give this man a prize. He merits it.
What a complete letdown... Unbelievable. I was so looking forward to buying this chassis for my new build, especially that I'm digging the style and look of it so much. How can Cooler Master royally screw up with this? I guess I'll be going for the Air 540 from Corsair then..
At first he planned to buy this tower CM Cosmos SE, but I think the best option is Corsair Obsidian 750D.
couldn't you use the radiator mount in the front without the radiator and just the fans so you could lower the fans?
That's what I was thinking, too.
Its awesome for watercooling, but I don't need all those hdd cages. Prefer to mount hdds in 5.25 bay.
I have got one of these. I bought it becasue of the 2 top handles and the 2 legs. Its so easy to pick up and carry around.

Agree with your review. Nice look but bit useless in key points like storage, airflow , liquid refrigeration....
could you just mount fans on the radiator brackets? Would solve the airflow problem.
I don't know what coolermaster was thinking when they were making this case?????
the case looks badass from the outside but i found some problem in this case like what is the point from the useless 3d drive cad its totaly useless and its blocking the airflow...and more problems, i was planing on this case but after i watched this video i changed my mind...with respect to cooler master you disponted me...
what rig requires a whopping 1000 watt psu? i'm about to upgrade from a 650 to a 750w and i'm not even sure why....so why a 1000w? thanks
Great ! i can see more the PSU than the cpu area of the motherboard, very well CM
is this case also compatible with the cooler master v8 gts
I need your help. I am facing some issue with this cabinet so could you help me????????????
And that's why they still sell cases with such design flaws... It's not about not knowing how to drill, dude, it's about being functional as you buy it.
Everything looks so tight, And having Watercooling seems to be a problem with this thing, Gonna buy some Corsair Case i guess
Hellu HardwareCanucks!
Im looking for a case which fit ATX motherboards, and have good options for making it a silent & air cooled build with Corsair h100i. Which would you recommend?
I see one for $50, should I get it for a Radeon 9 build?
Of they would make a mini itx case whit those handels... That would be a LAN party case
Could I mount a 360 radiator?
I don't get why so many manufacturers keep trying to reinvent the wheel for drive cages. I want some innovation sure but by god what were they smoking when they came out with that entire front set up? At no point during design did anyone notice that it was a complete mess?
And where in the hell the pump and the reservoir will fit in this super small tower for water-cooling???
is it possible to use the Corsair H100i in the front for cpu cooling?
you shoul do a video review of obsidian 750d
My god, what a flaw front intake design for a full tower case.
I would recomend you the corsair 330r

High end get a Cosmos2 or 900D or even an HAF stacker if space is all that matters
Dream case!
Looks like I'll be getting the full cosmos 2 ultra then seeing as theis doesn't cut it
Thanks for reviewing this :)
Are there any other cases with handles that are actually good? I really wanted the scout 2 but their discontinuing that
Haf XB EVO
Alguem sabe como faz para deixar os 2 fans frontais mais para baixo? O fan frontal superior fica entre a baia de HD :/
só se remover a grade de HDs de baixo.
i belive that is very good for its prize plus for my opinion is very user friendly and costumazable. +
what case, that you tested, you can call the best?
It's already up. Go check it out.
hey guys iam planing to use a 'Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme Water Cooler' sooo from what i just watched, will be there a problem using it with this case??
Dust filter on the top exhaust and bottom where is no fan, but no filter on the front intake? cooler master wtf
Who's going to buy this? The space is not well used in my opinion.
Great review as usual. We need more innovation with cases (I think the motherboard standards situation is partly to blame), it's getting too repetitive.
i spected more from this case, that front intake design is a big fail
Can i still mount fans in the front if i remove the harddrive holders?
yes
this or 750d ? I'm so confused...
shitty case - my friend could not fit the radeon 380... he cut it through!
jorn maes what when its too wide and hits the metal?
Uh, yeah any graphics card on the market will fit in this thing unless you want to mount the full 18 SSDs or 8 full sized hard drives. how can i use the third 5.25 slot?
Can this run overwatch smoothly please reply need to know
i have to choose beween Cosomos SE and MasterCase Pro which is better???
if u want to please the style gods, then choose cosmos...if want good airflow and modularity, then master case pro 5.
Wow cooler master did a awful job on this case.it shows its maid for micro atx mobo case just to tight to put a lot of hardware in it at all. Phanteks enthoo pro for 99 dollars is much better case around. Great video as always....
Does this case is good ? I Plan to take it
I got it it feels really really premium if u wan't to buy a case buy this it's not a regret
This or corsair 760t ?
nice review
First minute: "Ohhh sexy"
After that: "This case fuckin sucks."
Back to the drawing board :)
I still want one.
I love the COSMOS SE
which case would be better this or corsair 750d
this dude..
anyway it's "depends of your wallet", if you have an extra money, don't go to Cosmos SE, just buy Cosmos II, you will got plenty of space and full feature of cosmos case than this.

***** It fits everything you want to fit in. The major concern is air flow (if you're using air cooling). And if you use water cooling, you'll not be able to use the first 5.25" drive.
poor case design..but excellent review from dimitry as always
i love the handle
but not the case
nither the price
First of all u never ever saw this case live second of all i got it its so premium and awesome and it's spelled neither*.
Hm, would anyone recommend buying this over the Phantom 630?
Noooo!
don't buy this shit.....for me i recommend corsair cases
***** thank you

that 3rd 5.25" bay cover is so pointless .... thers no cage behind it even!
what the heck coolermaster just did?
Does anybody use this thing while running an ASUS Radeon R9 280X DirectCUII? Looks like it will be a pretty tight fit
JessLe- Berry You can remove the HardDrive Cages.
They shouldve just created a window panel for cosmos 2 than creating this one. It sucks
I was waiting to see what this case has to offer, but quite frankly, it's one big let down.
BOOO for cooler master. This case reminds me why I don't really like their products.
over priced piece of crap ( because of its price )
Now,I hate when people say if something is expensive, its a piece of crap. Its not,and with prices constantly lowering,it might become worth it.
Wow total fail on the front intake area.
Sweet
I can slowly see CoolerMaster dieing in the case market... I see mainly Corsair (altho i don't know why because their quality sucks) Fractal and Phanteks take over the case market...
CoolerMaster is not really thinking innovative and it looks like they are not even thinking about case ideas anymore...
