I bought a new one in 76. I thought the tank was so beautiful. I loved that bike but a few years later a friend talked me into buying a 750 liked his. I missed my 550. A few years ago a friend gave me a 77 550 that was outside for maybe 15 years. I brought it home and restored it last year. Now I smile every time I take for a ride. That wonderful sound. I'm going to tour Utah for a few days next week. Just me and my bike.
Wow, that thing is clean. Sounds great too. I love the 70s CBs, especially the 4 cylinder bikes. I've got a 750. Would love to have a 550 in my garage.
I owned a 1975 CB550-K1, loved how it ran. It would top out at 110mph. I did swap out the tank for a 750 tank, this gave me an extra 1 gal. Just had to swap the fuel lines to the other side. Worked heavy construction and would leave at 6:30am ride 85 miles to work. Put in 8hrs. minimum then ride back with no problem. One guy commented (after a 100mph ride) that he was surprised it kept up with his Harley.
The Hondas of that era had it all......looks,quality,reliability etc. and at an affordable price. All went horrible with the Comstar wheels, garish paint jobs and 'square' styling of the 80's. This one's an absolute Beauty.
I ride that bike for 6 years, and loved every minute of it! The I got T-boned by a drunk, who gave me my new screen name. That bike can easily be cold started by hand, while sitting on the bike. Unbelievable. When we’d go on group rides, everyone wanted to ride it, and we’d swap bikes for 10 or 15 miles. I couldn’t wait to give them their bikes back, and they didn’t want to get off my 55 four!❤
I had one in the 80s. It was blue I was in the Navy I rode it all over the southwest when stationed in San Diego. And Hawaii. It rusted out when I was discharged I left to a friend. It still ran great!
One of my friends bought a new 1976 Honda 550. I got to ride it when it was new. Great bike but I still liked my dirt bikes that I bought In the 1970's
im just happy to be out of my normal visit from hospital for couple moths s i can watch n comment while im still here love all the bike but the vintage 2 stroke are the best in my opinion
Be careful of your brass knuckles. I hope they didn't chip the side cover. You guys are exibiting, buying and selling some beautiful machines! 500 triple video coming up??
So it looks like we got knives and guns and brass knuckles and tasers all on our person at the same time..!!!!!!!.......wow there must be a big crime wave coming through.....lol...... But man I was cringing watching those silver knuckles Tagging along inches away ,...like a pendulum, ....from scratching this beautiful Honda all while senior is telling you if you scratch it you'll get tazed!!!!!..LMAO....he came really close to tazing himself!!! .......but all in all, I also was thinking, if it was mine I'd probably not sell it to a family member or close friend as whoever it may be, could never replicate the desire and skill it took to keep this wonderful machine this fresh...and then u will have to witness the slowly painful degradation of care and quality all while slowly accumulating many minor nicks and dents and a cracked tail lights from laying it down, and.......on and on and on......hats off to him and you guys!!!...keep em coming!!!!!....well u guys can and u.know how to preserve , fog, drain, etc.etc a bike properly as opposed to 85 Percent of rest of population that won't know how......
I bought one of these from my cousin. It had like 1,200 original miles on it. It was a 1976 model identical to this bike, color and all. It was sitting on his carport all dusty. I asked him why he was just letting it sit. It was a husband/wife misunderstanding, if you know what I mean. I was not in the market for a motorcycle at the time. This was in 1978 putting the bike at two years old. Out of curiosity, I asked him if he was interested in selling it and he said yes. He priced it to me for $500. Went home and thought about for several days thinking what a deal he offered me. 4 or 5 days later I called him and asked if he was still serious about selling at that price and he said yes and the rest is history. I loved that bike and would love to have it today. Thanks for reading my little story. Tim Yarbrough 8/17/23
I had the same bike when I was in high school “2004 ish” same color and everything. I think I sold it for $200…. I also bought an 88 mustang GT with a 347 stroker/ tremec 5 speed in beautiful shape for $2,000….. I miss the 90’s 😂
I hoard CB550 "s it's all I ride on the stree.t I Have 76 Stock SS ,76 Racer w/ Tracy kit Dual disc air front w stabilizer Marzzachi rear ,Yashimura headers & also a Rat Rust version .
Oh wow 🤩 stunning is an understatement 😎 I had a 550/4 engine in a hard tail frame I costumed into a all black and fully polished chopper! Man it was an awesome bike 😎😎 Such a great channel to show case such amazing motorcycle enthusiasts dreams!!
I actually like the CB550s better than the 750s. They are more compact. Perfect bike, bone stock. Take off the mirrors and turn signals and they look so mean. Brown is the best color, too. I'm a little light in the wallet, or I'd be all over this.
Your gonna have to tazer yourself if that nuckle duster gets any closer to the oem side panel 😨😂 gorgeous bike!.. my dad had one 10/15 years ago and sold it for next to nothing. If only we had a crystal ball
This bike is a one owner and quite original. Has a mature type paint scheme also. Being a 550cc not as collectible as the 750cc etc. Rode a 83 CB650 4cyl and it was a rocket. Great starter Honda collectible bike at a lower price point. 550/500 4cyl, 400cc and 350 (rare) 4cyl. Honda CB1 400cc 4cyl. Honda Hornet 250cc 4cyl (UK and Japan etc). For new bikes: Kawasaki zx-25 (4cyl) and Zx-4R (400cc 4cyl)
They would say,........ man they had these ugly stickers on the swing arm that I ripped off and all these bolts had this hideous yellow color all over it so I scraped all that right off making it look much better............"..., Oh and also got rid of that ugly factory exhaust for an awesome cheap EBAY ONE W FLAMES ON IT, HAD TO CUT THE ORIGINAL GRIPS OFF TO MAKE ROOM FOR THESE AWESOME 5 DOLLAR EBAY PAIR THAT are just as good!!!!! All in all I think I've increased the value but 50 percent!!!!! What can I say, it just comes natural for some!!!!.........., "...…lmao, I hope this guy doesn't buy the bike

I’m speechless it’s gorgeous there was nothing better than listening to the sound of the old-school Hondas
All the Honda's from that time period all have that unforgettable sound
Don't scratch my Honda, as he rides off with those 'brass knuckles' bangin' off the right side cover.

I owned this exact bike in 1979 and road it cross country, great bike except I always hated the valve adjustments. Handled like a dream.

That thing is unreal, what a gem.
God, that's a beautiful bike. I've been looking for something like that in classic motorcycle auctions here in Britain.
I ride that bike for 6 years, and loved every minute of it!
