Well, Shotgun rifles can actually be possible. You just get slug rounds, install the longest Barrel possible for it, and a Scope. Sure, they may not have a longest Range compared to a regular Sniper Rifle, but they have great enough range.
I know everyone memes about villains being in the right, but this dude honestly had a normal reaction to seeing walking, talking animals and the world thinking he was insane.
What's enthralling about this whole video is how the original story of Open Season is completely flipped upside-down. With Shaw as the protagonist, we witness how a fully sane outdoorsman slowly loses his sanity as he observes multiple creatures engaging in non-animal behavior, which contradicts everything that humanity once knew about nature. As this version of the movie progresses, the animals turn against this poor man one by one until he ultimately suffers the terrible fate of becoming prey to his own kind. A truly horrific children's tale 🤌
Besides running over a deer *and then going to town* A couple of months of meat is a couple of months of meat, and deer are pretty overpopulated anyway (that's part of why so many get hit on the road)
@@unknownguy1727 There's such a thing as living in the woods too long in our current civilization. The human race has had civilization for hundreds of years at this point. Yes, we used to live in the woods, but, again, civilization, so that doesn't justify his psychopathic and aggressive nature.

2:56 i love that you meticulously cut out every instance where shawn is hidden behind a tree, there really is no frame in this video where not a single shawn pixel is not present
In Shaw’s defense there was some major weird stuff happening in his community that would cause even the most sane of people to start having conspiracies
the sequels should've focused on the hunters coming back next year just as crazy as shaw and trying to hunt down boog along with shaw himself, and not the dog going to some water park and being hunted down by some crazed poodle or boog getting mixed up with some other circus bear (???)
If shaw had shaved, got braces, breath mints, a haircut and a suit. I can tottaly picture him being a philosopher or teacher working for a major university or college
Is it just me or is Shaw like crazy expressive? Like the more I pay attention the more I appriciate how well his expressions are conveyed in this movie
Not only that, his truck managed to resurface from the water like a submarine without the engine getting hydro-locked, AND float on the water (for a while) + making a ROOSTER TAIL while flooring it. It’s like Shaw modded it to be amphibious, but it’s not shown.
The fact that Shaw was completely willing and competently able to fight a grizzly bear hand-to-hand is fucking amazing to me. Let's put this into perspective: adult male grizzly bears weigh between 400 to 600 pounds. A grizzly bear's bite is around 1160 psi according to National Geographic, meaning they could probably crush a bowling ball with enough effort if they bit down on it hard enough. Shaw was facing down, at most, 600 pounds of pure fat and muscle who could disembowel him with a single swipe and could most definitely crush his skull if it caught him; but he ran at that bear with just a bowie knife and he survived. I don't know if Shaw was just too stupid to know what he was doing, or he may have the biggest balls in Oregon.
Shaw is one of my favourite villains. Because at some point in our lives, we would someday become Shaw if we lived in the woods for as long as him Also because he drives a classic truck
I Unironically always kinda wanted to grow up like this guy. I mean not the crazy part but the private cabin in the woods, the self sufficient life style, just always seemed ideal to me
The difference between good and evil is blurry at best. We're all "the good guy" from our own perspective, but its usually our means and the foundation of our principles that truly define us Shaw is the villain of the movie because of his cruelty and obsession with superiority. When your reaction to discovering sentient life is to try and wipe it out or re-subjugate it, you aren't any better than than the Europeans that discovered America and destroyed its indigenous people
As much as he acts, he's really not insane, he knows what he saw and he knows how to fight his enemies through different means of tactics, this dude even drove....surfed...rode a wave with his car and potential fell to his death to which he lived, hell he might even have a tragic backstory and has probably made many close calls before that made him way, we're looking at a man thats isnt easy to get rid of and isnt afraid to die, it's just that both universal paths of him and the bear crossed paths to many times making it seem like the bear his rival or final trophy
Open Season is literally one of the more obscure part of Gen Z childhood nostalgia. We indeed saw this as kids, but however it has been lost to time that some of us didn't know this existed, but it does. Looking back at Open Season, it indeed has dated humor and plot tropes at times but it is still a good movie that still has it moments. The one thing I remembered from this movie though is the woohoo bars and the part where the animals fight the hunters in an all out battle.
At 2:30 shaw is hunched forward as he's trying to pass the camper on a double yellow, but he can't shift his car into gear to overtake because his transmission is shot and he grinds it before it goes in and he's able to pass. That's some fine attention to detail
Is nobody gonna talk about how long that truck has survived. it was literally underwater for an extended amount of time and then resurfaced and he used it as a boat. what more could I need.

Well, Shotgun rifles can actually be possible. You just get slug rounds, install the longest Barrel possible for it, and a Scope. Sure, they may not have a longest Range compared to a regular Sniper Rifle, but they have great enough range.

Even as a kid my favorite Shaw scene was "It walks... like a MAN!" 😂

In his defense, if I saw a deer (or elk in this case) walking on two legs, I'm immediately thinking Wendigo.

I know everyone memes about villains being in the right, but this dude honestly had a normal reaction to seeing walking, talking animals and the world thinking he was insane.

@@dogeenjoyer7581 Edgy.
Wait a minute, is it a children's book? Like "Chicken Little"?

The movie is surprisingly well animated, except the second one.
The waterfall chase is so epic - the way shaw just stands on the truck and shoots is pure gold
