Mathias ! Another applause for your courage :) 👏👍 It's good that you are trying to take the piano path. This is welcomed by everyone . However, remember to develop proper piano playing habits from the beginning. It is then difficult to get rid of the wrong ones, it may be very difficult or even impossible. First: - Seatings. We sit in a chair - not very deep, with our buttocks tucked into it. We sit on a chair, not with the whole butt, but up to the hip joints. The chair moves back so that your knees are at the level of the front strip of the piano keyboard. The pianist then has the freedom to move left and right and reaches for the lowest and highest keys of the keyboard. Relaxed , not stiff. Secondly: - placing your hands on the keyboard. Casual... as if they were thrown at the keyboard with their hands outstretched. Then the hand and fingers lie naturally, freely, slightly rounded and touch the keys with their fingertips. Third: Practice patiently so that your fingers hit the keys from above like hammers, also slightly rounded - the fingertips, especially the fourth and fifth fingers, attack the key slightly rounded - and not sideways and straight!!! Just like with you, because you won't be able to unlearn it later. Then the pianist will never achieve the right technique and a properly selected, catchy sound. The posture should be relaxed, upright, without excessive bending over the keyboard. This silhouette is characteristic of every pianist, from the youngest to the oldest. It's a bit troublesome at first, but we quickly get used to it and develop this habit permanently, forever, and we see how convenient and valuable it is. ROY started just like you , but he followed these tips and now he is a great pianist - not just a vocalist. Examples :
    ruclips.net/video/mnDAZ8i0A8U/видео.html - incorrect
    ruclips.net/video/KL0dGP6p7qk/видео.html - incorrect
    ruclips.net/video/KQXT8BaL5q4/видео.html - good
As a singer, you should try piano playing technique. " FORTEPIAN " is a must-have for every musician. But we learn correctly, without hitting the side side , the straight fifth finger, because over time it will even get distorted and deformed half, and this cannot be repaired... :D :D :) Mathias :) don't take it literally , I don't want you to get discouraged, because I appreciate your willingness and commitment. Regards and good luck 😃❤👏🎼🎹🎶🎤🐯🐬 .... , Piotr . Finally, he gives examples of proper posture and playing by pianists - links:

Thank you for all the good advise Piotr, highly appreciated and very useful indeed. Mathias will look at this. Although, piano is merely a side instrument, something fun to do alongside all the technical vocal training, and he does not have the time to practice this as much as his piano teacher thinks he should. But you are certainly correct of course, it is important to get the technical basis right regardless, in order to master this wonderful instrument better. 🙂

Mathias ! 😃 I would really like you not to think that these were words of criticism - absolutely not! You have mastered this instrument well, but you make mistakes that you need to work on. For convenience, I use Google Translate and I have noticed that it slightly changes the meaning of the statement, or even vice versa. You have to guess what I mean :D, just like in the previous one... Mathias, I wanted to show you - tell you how to sit properly at the piano. The piano itself requires it and doesn't like it any other way. Respect him if that's what he wants :D. We sit on the edge of the chair, not with our entire butt, but somewhere up to our hip joints. You will feel it yourself, because it is most convenient. Then your entire torso can move freely left, right, from the lowest to the highest notes and you are not stiff. Sitting with your entire ass on a chair, with your knees deep under the keyboard - this is a sight that disqualifies a pianist. This way you can only play in taverns and... The knees are slightly apart and are at the level of the piano keyboard bar. I'm surprised that no one noticed it and didn't let you do it... no offense :) please... And the second thing is the correct positioning of your hand on the keyboard. just normally - directly above the keyboard. We do not bend our arms with the fifth finger straight when pressing a key, because it is easier for you... We keep our hand normally straight above the keyboard and only the fifth, slightly rounded finger presses the key on the a pillow and works. You are already an adult, it's not a problem... I especially see it in your left hand when you accompany: - one two three, - one two three, - one two three, - this ONCE is terrible - because you twist your hand when hitting with fifth straight finger sideways, not with a pillow :(. Please don't be discouraged. It's great! It's great that you play the piano, avoid mistakes because it's hard to get rid of them. You don't have to be a pianist, just practice for yourself half an hour a day. As a singer with a beautiful voice, the ability to play the piano will come in handy - it's something more, it adds prestige. I'm sorry that I'm writing about it so extensively, but I care about you because you are very ambitious and hard-working and I want you to know how things should be... You are an adult, you understand everything best ❤🎶🎤🎼🎹👍👏, best regards and good luck... Piotr

Are you sure that's him? I didn't recognize him without the tuxedo and the bow-tie! 🙂

Hehe, I was there, and can confirm that this is the original. As part of the anniversary celebration, they were asked to put on this red T-shirt... He thought it was fun to do something else for a change, in between all the technical vocal training... 🙂
