I played this at Galloping Ghost Arcade back in December and it's become one of my new favorite on-rails games! The rumbling guns mounted on the arcade cabinet definitely add to the experience.
Actually, this is one of the hardest rail shooters, having difficulty on par with Rail Chase series, Gunblade NY, and L.A. Machineguns! How could I or you see a 'Continue?' message in the mere beginning of Stage 1?
played this last night at galloping ghost!! best arcade game ever imo, gripping pace and amazing art + music. a unique HR geiger horror/fantasy feel for a shooter , and the literal "dragon" shaped guns on the console are so unusual and an awesome tactile element.
I just won an _Dragon Gun_ but got a different ending instead. In a different ending, the woman ran out of power that keeps the circle thing that is the way home working then after that, the 2 characters from the real world start a new adventure in a world they are now stuck in.
How exactly do you "beat" the final boss in the game? Whenever I kill him for the first time, he just freezes into his pose, and doesn't "wake up" at all, and I can't finish the game as a result. I'm wondering what the issue with that may be, and if using the game cheats may have something to do with it?
mametesters.org/view.php?id=419 Is this the problem? I haven't actually seen it myself. I'm thinking maybe you are using an older version of MAME and need to update to the latest.
Yes, and that is correct. I'm pretty sure my version of Mame is (among) the latest, as I just got the machine three years ago. Is there another version of this game, which I can possibly try out instead?
When I made this particular video, I was using MAME 0.156 and that is the only version I am absolutely sure works. I don't think it's too likely related to your problem, but I deleted the nvram file for this game before starting. While I don't think using cheats are the cause of your problem, I can't say for sure that they aren't, since I didn't use any. I could send you the .inp replay file I used on 0.156 if you want to try playing it to the end while pressing the speed up button.
I'll try playing the game without the cheats, and see how that goes. Doesn't seem like it'll make a difference though, since others have had the same issue it seems. I looked for another possible version of it, but none seems to exist other than the US edition.
All right. Let me know how that goes. There is a Japanese version of the game, which is called "dragngunj.zip", but I used the US one for this video. That website I linked to actually indicates that the problem was fixed on an unspecified version of MAME, which is why I thought you might be using an older version that still has the problem. Again, I would suggest using MAME 0.156, because that is the one I finished the game with. I confirmed that MAME 0.168 also works.
+周文杰 Unfortunately, I can't give you a direct link, but I can say that the filename is "dragngun.zip" and the filesize should be 22.02 megabytes. I'm wondering if your problem might actually be your version of MAME rather than your rom. Which version of MAME are you using?
Even though you only see most of the monsters on screen for only brief periods, the devs certainly put a lot of effort and detail into the sprite art!

Doesn’t forcing 60 fps have something to do with this?

I was just there today (as of this comment) playing it, pretty fun, had a bit of a dark way when you get the game over screen though. Sheesh.
@@jessepeterson6694
did you see JP version gameover screen?
That was awkward.
somebody said, the executer is not enemy side.
Plaitoria, they did!
This game is actually available to play at Galloping Ghost from their mystery Monday Reveal. The cabinet speaks deliciously dragons itself.

That's one intense rail shooter! Great teamwork on that Data East game.
Always liked this game in the arcade, you would come home and wish to christ you had a game like this on your megadrive/snes
Anyone else notice Alexender's voice sounds a lot like Son Goku's?
Same voice actor, Masako Nozawa
Seriously?! Wow!!

WOW this was Data East?! I'm a tad disappointed in the lack of a Karnov cameo LOL!
So this is what Goku does when he’s not saving the world

I hope a Switch version utilizes motion controls to aim easier.
