30 Cube Aquascape - latest update!

- Hi all, I present an update on my 30cm cube tank, which has undergone quite a radical change since its last appearance...and now features a group of Ember tetras.
I talk about the aquascape, including the plants and fish, and also have a brief look back at my trip to the US last summer, when I was hosted by the wonderful people of the Missouri Aquarium Society and the Chicago Aquatic Plant Society.

I survive the winter doldrums in the fishroom, visiting our local fish stores, and going anywhere with greenhouses. And reading anything aquarium related... as well as watching quality content on RUclips like your channel.

Thanks Steve! Yes, all going well, we should have copies do book signing in St Louis :D I think that's a good survival strategy! I wouldn't mind the winter so much if it was snow and blue sky, it's the endless grey that is tough...

I just recently got seriously into aquascaping and discovered your work. It's always really informative and entertaining. Sorry to hear that you are struggling with winter and the holidays, I'm very much the same way. I doubt you'll be in the south, but if you make it to Alabama, we have the Amazon of North America-the Cahaba River. It's truly an amazing habitat. Also if looking for blues recommendations, check out Cedric Burnside, got to see him live a few years ago, was a great show! Cheers!

So much wonderful stuff in this video! I really like the simple yet elegant cube! One thing that's nice about tanks is being able to try new ideas.
I live about 12 hours northwest of Chicago. It is great seeing pictures of stuff local to my region in your content. I know exactly what you mean about the water temperature! 😂 Oh, just something that I find helpful with the short days is that in Winter I supplement Vitamin D.

Thanks for your kind words Andi! So you're in Canada? I'm doing another US trip in October but I doubt I will be getting into the water at that time of year!
@@biotopia5319 Closer to Canada than Chicago. I am in Minnesota ("Land of 10,000 Lakes").
Unless you are in a southern state, it will probably be too cold in the water (unless you have an insulated wetsuit).

Hi Tai, Really love your content and the sharing of your knowledge of habitats. But please invest in a good sound system. It is distracting from the story you want to tell. It is really bad sound.
