@@zacharywoloszynski4258 my brother in Christ, the vanilla boss fights in hollow knight are super predictable. If we were talking about the godseekers dlc boss fights, that’s a different story. I beat every vanilla boss in a max of 5 tries except for the bosses like the mantis lords, traitor lord, or Colosseum of fools trials, but that’s because I kept on getting hurt on the platforming sections and contact damage from small bugs and showed up to each fight at half health lmao.

I'm gonna be here for awhile, but cheers to therm actually beating the main story of the game and I was happy to be there every step of the way, a little disappointed that he never really did full 112% but I'm glad that he got to experience the main story of the game and this masterpiece
dude you're an OG like.. i rewatched the streams and literally saw you in every single one. you're even in all of the streams now. i love the dedication /gen
as someone who completed 112%, it is ABSOLUTELY not worth it... would also be extremely boring to watch Edit: I have been reminded the Last Pantheon is not counted towards 112 percent, I therefore retract my statement that it is not worth it. Hiwever, I do maintain that it would be boring to watch
I love how Therm just occasionally screams, "GET THE CHILD, HIT THE CHILD, KILL THE CHILD!!!". All jokes aside though, I absolutely love this compilation and find it amazing how despite spending a ton of time on my playthrough there's still so much new stuff that I saw here.
I always forget where it is, to the point where I get to the shriek room and think “ah shit where are wraiths again? “ before promptly using the wiki lmao
I was stuck on the first Hornet fight for MONTHS. Put the game down for so long because of it. I picked it back up again the Christmas before COVID and with a lack of anything better to do and completely no knowledge of the game, I grinded at it until I beat it. After that I had nothing but time to sink into this game. I truly think that fight is meant to kick you into fighting shape for the rest of the game, and going back to it now is so easy.
i absolutely LOVE how the game teaches you to 'get guud' as hornet says. like actually playing through it and seeing yourself become better and better is AMAZING
I know you've probably had a hundred people tell you but if you want an in-depth video of Hollow Knight lore, mossbag has a great one. Not all of it is easily put together from playing cause you get it in separate bits and pieces and stuff. Anyways this was really fun and i'm glad you enjoyed Hollow Knight, its truly one of my favorites
Therm: No I don't wanna kill this ghost who is clearly going to be a fully fleshed out bossfight D: Also Therm: *strikes down the Nail Smith without a second thought*
So glad you created this! I remember being there for a few of the streams even before I subscribed, and having the whole thing compiled and edited is just FANTASTIC! Props to you, props to Peri!
That long drop through the treasure chest and down to the two armadillo-lookin' boys (at 16:45) is such a sneaky little dev trick! Since they curl up when you go near them, you could easily camp near one and de-aggro it while you blast the other and fend off its babies. But anyone I've ever watched play this game panics and ends up staying in the middle, forcing themselves to fight both at once. It's pure evil game design >:)
I too was paralyzed and stood in the middle like the idiot, it took my sister (who had already finished the game, and was the person who got me into it) offhandedly saying “you know you could just stand by one and attack the other” to get me to realize it. I stood there in shock for a minute before trying it and succeeding
this video is so fun to watch as someone who struggled severely with hollow knight my first time playing it, watching your understanding of mechanics and gradual evolution of game play is really satisfying and was a very needed distraction this weekend for me! ♡
Hollow Knight by far was one of my favorite games, and even if it may have not changed my life like you, it still way an absolutely amazing game thoughhhh some of the bosses were... frustrating. 💀
@@MintDuck-fs8hp Dude I'm 8 hours in against the watcher knights. I *loathe* them. Mantis lords took 5 hours. I guess I just am horrible at multi enemy boss fights
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I am at minute 25 now. Whenever I play, it is an ease to me but this video is reminding me on HOW MUCH I STRUGGLED when first playing it. This throws me back at the time where I experienced it for the first time. And honestly, I wish I could play it again for the first time.
Loved watching the streams when I had Covid. This was a beautifully edited compilation. Props to Therm, his editor and Team Cherry for a kickass, somber, funny and beautifully scored experience
Man, I still get chills from the true ending. It's like bug dark souls and it's goosebumps all the way from Hornet jumping in, to climbing alongside your family, to beating the shit out of that stupid moth with your big bro who is now also finally free. Honestly don't think there ever was a 15€ game I enjoyed more than this. HK and Stardew are like the kings of indie games that really deliver way too much fucking content for the measly amount of money you put in.
The hollow knight streams was a great time and it was so fun seeing someone playing this masterpiece of a game for the first time. Plus a great job to the editor peri! :D
"This is so cool I like this place!" *STAB* "I don't like this place guys, this place is creepy and I don't like it." The SIMPLEST of things changing a man's perspective in seconds
This was awesome to watch all together. I watched most of the vods as they came out (in australia so time zones are tough and couldn't watch the live streams) and LOVED it, but it was awesome to see your play through as one video. Mad respect to Peri for putting this one together!
I kinda suck at this game and some playthroughs make me feel discouraged. Seeing you die so much in the begining like I did & the fact that you kept going is really refreshing 😊 it makes me want to play again
I have never felt so seen by hollow knight content. I’m playing rn and the biggest challenge is not the enemies, no, not the bosses, but the platforming. It took me more tries to get through the crushers in crystal peak than to kill the boss there lmao. I will always hate those purple mushrooms.
Dude, how have I never seen your content before-this is an absolute gem of a channel, the editing is top notch and your commentary and little yelps are just constantly making me laugh 😂
Thanks Peri and thank you, Therm, for presenting me with more lovely content. I've literally been binging blind hollow knight plathroughs. This was a great experience.
15 min in and im amazed there's a player who could have actually made use of the number of rancid eggs with the amount of times he lost his shade lmaooo
I'm not going to watch this until I've played the game but I bought the game a month or so ago because I saw how much you were streaming it and thought that spoke well of it. One day I'll have time to play. 🎉
@@thatrandomhomosapien4784 I really enjoyed it! I haven't finished it yet because I haven't had a lot of time but I enjoy the gameplay and I'm really intrigued by the story. I would recommend it!
Tip for lost kin: defenders crest and any strengthening or health upgrading charms. As the blobs get closer, the smell from defenders crest will kill them so you only have to focus on the main boss
It’s kind of wild that I decided to get all the charms and upgrades before facing most of the villains, and this dude beat the game THEN went back for all the upgrades
I’ve got over 100 hours in the game with a 106% steel soul run for true ending and had no idea about that Dung defender scene where he actually talks to you.
This was an amazing 3 hours to watch :)) Sadly I can't experience Hollow Knight for the first time again but I love watching other people play it also props to you for editing all this - I love your commentary during streams too
that was incredible to watch, thank you for all the awesome content therm, and for the hard work of Peri the editor and all of the moderators on the streams!!!
i love how you say you suck but you defeated the broken vessel with only your nail, no spells, almost any charms and without knowing anything, i did it with all the charms i could get an watching the fight like thirty tims to be prepared xD. So yeah, i think youre awesome!
Stuff like this motivates me. I’ve got my own Hollow Knight video in the works right now, and to see this journey and similar videos to this one, it really makes me just want to get home and keep working on it. Hollow Knight really is a masterpiece
My jaw hit the floor several times...the vast gulf of disparity between your combat prowess and your platforming is endlessly entertaining. Thank you and good job powering through!
My favorite is how he simply neglects that stags exist for over half of these Edit: also we should’ve had someone count off how many times he moans when damage is taken
As I’m going thru this I’m realizing there are going to be multiple edits so instead of #ing them I am resorting to replying to myself. Edit #2: *Proceeds to feel bad after HK attempts to stab itself* 5 seconds later: “I’ll help you” 10 seconds later: “Yes, he’s stabbing himself” I’m dead 😂
"I'm gonna be bad at this game". Yeahhhh, could tell this would be a toughie for you since the first bug you encountered. But I'm at the beginning of the video here with you, and I'm rooting for you.
I played Hollow Knight for the first time in December of 2019; since then it's become a yearly tradition to venture back through Hallownest when December comes around. I'm currently doing my 4th annual playthrough and youtube suggested this video to me. Oh man, from the first minute I was hooked haha, you describe the game perfectly in your opening segment I couldn't NOT watch what happens next. The editing and humor in your video are excellent, it flows so well and I laughed out loud more times than I thought I would watching a Hollow Knight playthrough. Your video is going to be a yearly tradition along with my playthrough of the game, so thanks for this, it's incredibly enjoyable and relatable!
I dont know if you're looking for a new game but something i think would be amazing to see you play is outer wilds. Its a very unique puzzle/space exploration game. The big thing about it is its much much more sensitive to spoilers than any other game so youd probably have to have a mod be fairly aggressive about stopping people helping you. Idk if that's your kinda think but i think it could be fantastic to see you play that.
31 seconds in and I cannot agree with you more I don’t even know how it changed your life, but it changed mine too and ever since I’ve played it everything has gotten better
Loved watching all these streams, I was able to make most of them live and caught up on the vods of the rest, and it was so much fun to watch your progress and discover this game with you! Your streams inspired me to play the game myself, and it is so nice to revisit your whole journey in a condensed format :)
@@jopayer People see the term "hallow" and default to "hollow" because it's a more common term. People also pronounce "Halloween" as "Holloween" a lot.
All jokes aside this is one of the greatest games ever made regardless of drama. I am lucky to have gone in with no knowledge of it. It’s nuts how immersive a 2 D adventure game can be, but this game is that good, and I literally couldn’t find what I was supposed to do (find the dream nail) for 15 hours. Honestly didn’t care though.
I would love to see you play more hollow knight! One thing I saw another streamer do which was really interesting was to react to the lore. The channel Mossbag has a really comprehensive video about it, maybe you could watch it on stream? But it might be a bit much for the channel, not that family-friendly.
I just binge watched this entire three hour video instead of doing things I should be doing and I have absolutely no regrets. Always super fun to watch the experience of someone playing hollow knight!
It's always nice to come back and rewatch this video. Therm's playthrough is by far my favourite i've watched and is what convinced me to finally buy the game for myself (it's now become my favourite game of all time so thanks therm lmao) and I couldn't be more thankful. Here's to hoping he plays Silksong when it releases!
My lizard brain is screaming “STOP FIGHTING AND HEAL, YOU ARE LOW ON HEALTH!HEAL! THEY DO DOUBLE DAMAGE! STOP GETTING HIT” lmao glad you enjoyed the game
I played like 4 hours of hollow knight and got so mad at the levels that I quit, but watching this was extremely satisfying. I had never heard of your channel until now and was so not down for a 3 hour video but it just kept going and I was hyped on your successes with the bosses so I ended up losing myself in the video and loving your excitement. This was so much fun to watch.

@@onebraincellarmy6972 thank you
one of my favourite thing about hollow knight is that looking down is a significant enough hitbox change to dodge that one mantis lord attack
I'm gonna be here for awhile, but cheers to therm actually beating the main story of the game and I was happy to be there every step of the way, a little disappointed that he never really did full 112% but I'm glad that he got to experience the main story of the game and this masterpiece
🧌
dude you're an OG like.. i rewatched the streams and literally saw you in every single one. you're even in all of the streams now. i love the dedication /gen
@@starburstds2 thnx for the compliment :) I try my best to show up for most of the current streams aswell
as someone who completed 112%, it is ABSOLUTELY not worth it... would also be extremely boring to watch
Edit: I have been reminded the Last Pantheon is not counted towards 112 percent, I therefore retract my statement that it is not worth it. Hiwever, I do maintain that it would be boring to watch

Therm: oops
Watching the lost kin fight was actually pretty interesting, was apparent just how much it increased your abilities
Man didn’t know he could look down for like the entirety of forgotten crossroads and greenpath
How you managed to do all that without ever finding wraiths is absolutely incredible...
I always forget where it is, to the point where I get to the shriek room and think “ah shit where are wraiths again? “ before promptly using the wiki lmao
@@riplix20 That is bad.
@@matijamaksan4344 not if it’s your second playthrough.
Months… 😦I ain’t gonna even say nothing
@@StacyMcCabe you did though. You said something.
I thought *I* was struggling when I beat her with 8 hours playtime…
hornet was easy though
I find it incredible that Therm did all of this without howling wraiths or abyss shriek
I didn't use any spells until literally the very final boss (yes, the actual final boss!) and then I discovered how op they were. Whoops!
I'm at 1:55:11 and he still doesn't have shadewing cloak 😳
Explains why he didn’t abouselety tank the oobles with abyss shriek then.
Honestly out of all the spells they’re the worst
@@ciaranpatrick6859 maybe you don’t find them useful, but I like to use it against flying bosses.

Therm: *gives 4000 geo to Millibelle*
Therm: “Ok, bye! Keep my money safe”

Therm: No I don't wanna kill this ghost who is clearly going to be a fully fleshed out bossfight D:

Therm finding out he got scammed by millibelle is one of the parts I was looking forward to the most and boy was it entertaining
Oh... OH...
I have 200+ hours in this game.
I feel like an absolute idiot because I never thought of that lol.
That’s how I finally got ‘em! I was way too stressed to ever kill them standing in the middle
The fact I did this on my first playthrough is-
I too was paralyzed and stood in the middle like the idiot, it took my sister (who had already finished the game, and was the person who got me into it) offhandedly saying “you know you could just stand by one and attack the other” to get me to realize it. I stood there in shock for a minute before trying it and succeeding
I've been meaning to try out Hollow Knight for ages. I think you finally pushed me over the edge to do it. Thanks, Therm!
hearing the difference in mic quality is astonishing. this is a masterpiece
this video is so fun to watch as someone who struggled severely with hollow knight my first time playing it, watching your understanding of mechanics and gradual evolution of game play is really satisfying and was a very needed distraction this weekend for me! ♡

You're making me feel so much better about failing the same spot 10+ times, thank you!

"This is so cool I like this place!"

"I don't like this place guys, this place is creepy and I don't like it."

THERM AND MORE HOLLOW KNIGHT??? YESSSSSSS MY FAVOURITE CREATOR AND MY FAVOURITE GAME YESSSS
Same tho
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssss
I have never felt so seen by hollow knight content. I’m playing rn and the biggest challenge is not the enemies, no, not the bosses, but the platforming. It took me more tries to get through the crushers in crystal peak than to kill the boss there lmao. I will always hate those purple mushrooms.
Bro I cannot explain how happy I am about this video, the Hollow Knight series was such a huge comfort and now having them all in one video is a dream
Dude, how have I never seen your content before-this is an absolute gem of a channel, the editing is top notch and your commentary and little yelps are just constantly making me laugh 😂
holy fuck, 5 months!? Thats a lot of dedication. I can't wait to watch this 3 hour masterpiece. ♥
I love watching new people play this game, it is so infuriating and funny. He could have avoided so many deaths if you took 3 seconds to heal
Have never played hollow knight, had no idea what it was about until now. I feel like this is the second best way to experience it, thank you ❤

The little seaniedew during the broken vessel fight 😂
I'm not going to watch this until I've played the game but I bought the game a month or so ago because I saw how much you were streaming it and thought that spoke well of it. One day I'll have time to play. 🎉

@@thatrandomhomosapien4784 I really enjoyed it! I haven't finished it yet because I haven't had a lot of time but I enjoy the gameplay and I'm really intrigued by the story. I would recommend it!
Doing all these bosses without shade cloak and sharp shadow. Sheesh. Good work.
Haha I loved when you tried to open the black egg using the rancid egg 😂
Tip for lost kin: defenders crest and any strengthening or health upgrading charms. As the blobs get closer, the smell from defenders crest will kill them so you only have to focus on the main boss
I'm surprised you beat the whole game (good ending) without ever finding the howling wraiths spell.
tips for watcher knights:
wait until you have all the upgrades, i had max charm notches, coiled nail and around 8 or 9 mask, made the fight super easy
My good man, the DLC for this game is godlike. Highly recommend
this is the only man that can fight lost kin and die multiple times while still having fun
this video gave me so much nostalgia from MY first playthrough, where i suffered the same amount as he did.
banger vid therm keep up the good work
It’s kind of wild that I decided to get all the charms and upgrades before facing most of the villains, and this dude beat the game THEN went back for all the upgrades
I’ve got over 100 hours in the game with a 106% steel soul run for true ending and had no idea about that Dung defender scene where he actually talks to you.
This was an amazing 3 hours to watch :))
Sadly I can't experience Hollow Knight for the first time again but I love watching other people play it also props to you for editing all this - I love your commentary during streams too
that was incredible to watch, thank you for all the awesome content therm, and for the hard work of Peri the editor and all of the moderators on the streams!!!
i love how you say you suck but you defeated the broken vessel with only your nail, no spells, almost any charms and without knowing anything, i did it with all the charms i could get an watching the fight like thirty tims to be prepared xD. So yeah, i think youre awesome!
Stuff like this motivates me. I’ve got my own Hollow Knight video in the works right now, and to see this journey and similar videos to this one, it really makes me just want to get home and keep working on it. Hollow Knight really is a masterpiece
This is the coolest way to present a full playthrough, actually better than 90% of movies

This was really fun! I love your little "Ah!"s of fear and shock
I don't think people realize how much money I would spend to play this for the first time again
im so excited for silksong
Sliksong? Whats that? Seems like a name for some imaginary game that will never release@@thE_gag
My jaw hit the floor several times...the vast gulf of disparity between your combat prowess and your platforming is endlessly entertaining. Thank you and good job powering through!
My favorite is how he simply neglects that stags exist for over half of these
Edit: also we should’ve had someone count off how many times he moans when damage is taken
" i just wanna fight some bosses thats my favorite part " famous last words LOL

ladies and gentlemen, he did it
Loved watching all these streams, I was able to make most of them live and caught up on the vods of the rest, and it was so much fun to watch your progress and discover this game with you! Your streams inspired me to play the game myself, and it is so nice to revisit your whole journey in a condensed format :)
I'm so glad he didn't know about Path of Pain, my heart couldn't take him acquiring a mental illness while attempting it.
I love this playthrough but how did he go through 3 endings and still not get howling wraiths 💀💀💀💀

Awesome movie Therm. I wouldn't have gotten past the first foe, so you did fantastic!
It's so rare someone says Hallownest correctly that I had to do a double take and be like "akshually .. oh, yeah, nah that's right, carry on".
What’s the correct way?

I love hollow knight so much and Im excited to watch the entirety of this video
All jokes aside this is one of the greatest games ever made regardless of drama. I am lucky to have gone in with no knowledge of it. It’s nuts how immersive a 2 D adventure game can be, but this game is that good, and I literally couldn’t find what I was supposed to do (find the dream nail) for 15 hours. Honestly didn’t care though.
I always enjoy seeing people play this game i love for the first time, and see how they played it.
