100% agree. I am a convert of 4 decades and one of the chief things that converted me was Joseph Smith receiving the knowledge of the true character of our Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus the Christ.
Being a new member, I am so grateful for these posts. I really enjoy them. I love the church and I love the gospel. I am also so thankful for Joseph Smith and for President Nelson. Happy Holidays! ❤
As a senior grandmother, If I could give any new member any thoughts, it would be to not look at other's lives, what they "seemingly" have and compare it to what we have, don't let imperfect people offend us etc., just pray all day every day in all our daily comings and goings, and keep the Lord close to us - he will "be with us" when we do this. I don't know how he can be there every moment of every day - for everyone who invites him, but I just know He is. Church is a hospital for the marred, broken, lonely, the vengeful, and the sinners. No one is any better than any of us, even though they might think they are. They just have different trials and weaknesses, tests and strengths in their plan, than us. We all learn and improve at different speeds..in those different areas. Sadly, some never learn and improve much at all in this life; thereby, missing the whole point of their mission here in this sphere of activity.
Welcome. As a convert myself of over 45 years now, I can honestly say it is the BEST decision I ever made. The Church is true! Continue learning, praying, growing, and you will have a blessed life. Happy New Year.🙏❣
"Heavenly Father I need help. I need to know what I need to know so that I can do what I need to do so that I can become what I need to become". Wow 🙌🏽
Thank you Dr. Griffin for your wonderful insights and thoughts on the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Each time I've studied the Doctrine and Covenats I often wonder if I will ever get the full picture of what it has been like in the begging. I hope to learn more this time around. And Thanks Hank and John for continuing your podcasts. I feel like I can get more out of my studying of the scriptures by listening to your podcast weekly. Thanks.
Recently I felt stuck in my seminary teaching. I thought I was teaching the same topics over and over and worried my youth were going to get tired and disconnect. I spoke with my trainer who reminded me of the beauty and purpose of repetition. Truly the Lord never stops using repetition to teach us. Thank you for being back, I am excited to learn again!
The Spirit was overflowing today as I listened to this episode. To have all three of you amazing religious scholars teaching us is a huge blessing. It wasn't too many years ago when we had little resources to help strengthen our faith and study. Now we are blessed tremendously. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge to all people everywhere! He is "my Jesus" and "love is the greatest motivator".
I'm sooo excited to restart and learn so many more things. Thank you for continuing and sharing! You have no idea how your podcast has enriched my life! Thank you!
john 3:16 is my personal scripture... my dad and probably me and all 3 of my kids and my hubby are autistic. When i am actually rubbish with relationships but also on a convenential path all about relationships... I'm so messed up.... most of my callings have been a bit isolated tooo. Then this verse brought me to tears because it defines relationships and in it I have a dad and a brother and i know that it will all work out all my callings have been with children and youth I am loved by my hubby and stay.
Jokes help me feel joy... counting blessings... being kind... seeing how adversity brings blessings... trusting in God... the temple... daily come follow me laughter is lovely... remembering those moments where i simply can not deny that i know Heavenly Father loves me... thank you for sticking with the program i am not the me i was 4 years ago and the world is in a different place and learning in real time with you and your guests with me in my real time is joyful tooo... happy 2025 indeed.... fyi i am typing one handed after breaking my left shoulder
I am so grateful that you are continuing on after four years. I have learned so much these past four years and was so worried that you would stop when finished with each book of scripture. Thank you so much for continuing to have such wonderful guests come on and teach us with you two.
I loved the fact about Brad Wilcox. When I was 19 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I went to a area young adult conference and President Wilcox found out and he told me that I was the “strongest person I know” and gave me the biggest hug. He has been such an influence to me and my girls. My daughter got to hug him and get a picture with him not too long ago at an EFY fireside. Love you all.
Speaking of historic and prehistoric, my 6-year old son walked by the TV while this episode was playing, and he asked this while pointing to John, "Wait, Dad, that's you when you were younger?" I'm probably 10 years younger than John, and a very good looking man 😜. So, John, my son basically said that you look good for your age.
Wow !! Three of my most favorite people in the world together. Each week I tune into Come Follow Him and Come Follow Me. Thank you ,for all you teach us each week. I'm so grateful you have decided to continue these podcasts , because I sure am learning each and every time I tune in. Keep up the great work, because we are all blessed because of it.
Love the comment at 20:18 about how God kept the restoration of the gospel measured so there was time for roots to grow. Something that I've wondered lately is if the church is true, why isn't it growing faster? And I think this comment was an answer I needed. God is deliberate and is treating all of us as individuals with our own roots to grow
I have to agree that John has had a huge impact. I know in my life, he helped me build my foundational understanding of the gospel. Thank you so much, John Bytheway!
Earlier last year I started listening to your podcasts which have greatly enhanced my daily scripture study. I'm more consistent and have learned much more than I did studying on my own. I'm very grateful that this podcast will continue on!!! I enjoy your rich insights as well as sense of humor. I'm very pleased that "Barney Fife" has made an appearance and hope that he will have more cameo's!!! Great impersonation John! Thank-you Sorensen family and thank you Hank, John and guests for your efforts.
This was an amazing time with learned men learning so much more insights of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so happy to stumble on this podcast and have been taught amazingly this evening. Thank you very much for this wonderful lesson taught to me. I’m looking forward to Part 2 tomorrow night. I’m spreading it out because there is so much taught in lesson one that needs to be absorbed by my brain mind and heart to remember the wonderful lessons taught in this lesson. Thank you very much. Looking forward to more of this kind. Love you. ❤
Echoing all those above me, my husband & I thoroughly enjoy these wonderful podcasts. Each time I watch or listen, I gain so much more so that when I read my scripture of the day, I feel so much more enlightened. When Dr. (Brother) Griffin began his explanation of why we read these particular scriptures this year, it hit me that we don’t NEEd to memorize, dates, places, etc to strengthen our faith, but it’s our connection with Father & the Lord as we walk with them & learn to become WHO we were intended to become as we travel our lives. (An aside): John : you saved our young 17 year old many moons ago at EFY in 2000. He loved your classes & he discovered himself. Now 42--6 children -leading out with Succeed in School.
I love your presentations and yes I will be with you to the bitter end. Bitter, because I wont want it to end. John mentioned where Nephi said "my Jesus". Yes I love this. I have always loved this phrase and and loved what Elder Hirst said in last conference talk. I have started the Book of Mormon again and I saw something that I have never seen before (as you point out we are always being taught) 1 Nephi 1:15 after this manner was the language of my father in praising "his God"! Isnt that the coolest? Love you brethren.
I find the best thing about repeating study is that it gives us an opportunity to deepen our conversion in a line upon line way. Since my son left on his mission, the line upon line of life has become so clear to me and I'm so grateful for it.
I love your podcasts! And I love learning more about the Gospel. This year, one of my goals is to study deeper and to take more time to devote to learning about the things that will bring me closer to the Lord. I am so very grateful for these opportunities to learn from such learned people and to enrich my own soul. Thank you Hank and John for contining these podcasts. They are inspiring!
I really loved what Hank said about it being more merciful for God not to answer you if you don't pray with real intent to act upon what you've learned. The Spirit gave me a good poke on that one. Thanks, Hank!
For the past few years, one of my favorite scriptures has been John 15 because Jesus teaches us about abiding in His love. When I hear the children sing “When I walk with Jesus and He will walk with me” I feel like they’re teaching us about abiding in Jesus’s love.
What a wonderful way to prepare to begin this new year of gospel study!! I discovered this podcast only a year ago and have absolutely loved studying the Book Of Mormon with you great men! I am also so grateful for Dr. Griffin. What great men you are and help so many learn, strengthen their testimonies and act upon what we learn!! Thank You.
John, thanks for the quote from your teacher; I have modified it for myself and thought I’d share it - “The greater the size of our island of knowledge, the greater the shoreline of wonder we stand on and gaze at the endless horizon of the unknown.” Thanks John, Hank and Tyler for a great discussion.
👏👏👏👏👏 this episode was FANTASTIC! We love Dr Griffin and John and Hank kept us laughing and then crying feeling the spirit. I always put my air pods in and walk around my neighborhood when a new episode is released and I'm basically just grinning ear to ear and laughing out loud while I walk : )
So many times I’ve wanted to THANK YOU for giving so much for all of us! I usually listen with my podcast app throughout my day. Such a blessing, I have shared with many. Bless you and your families for giving so much of your time. Angels among us. Thanks to all who make this possible, bless you.😇❤😇
And remembering that we are only responsible for planting and maintaining the seeds of truth in our children and not their choices. Sometimes even our best efforts- especially noticed by the Lord when we are under extreme duress- don't bear the fruit we hoped to see.
36:22 I suddenly had a picture in my mind of an old room with a fireplace and knew it was another area of knowledge, and the warmth was was the gaining of knowledge through the spirit, to fill the room in my mind with with experiences I had that gave me the knowledge. Powerful
🎉 Oh my goodness, how packed full this episode was! 🎉 And, I'm only halfway through! I generally wait until I listen to both parts before I comment, but I could not withhold myself. Maybe this year, something new can be tried. How about hosting all Come, Follow Me Podcasters in one big online devotional? That would be amazing.🎉 I love to listen to you guys because it builds my faith.
There are now three operating temples in the Philippines and 10 others (or more) are in planning or construction stages. I was giving a concluding talk as bishop of our ward one Sunday a few weeks after the dedication of the Cebu Temple. I still remember that I told the congregation that when I joined the Church the nearest temple was Tokyo. I then told them that I'm now at peace because there's a second temple in the Philippines. Little did I know that the Lord will build more temples in my beloved country. A few months later, Pres. Monson announced more temples to be constructed in the Philippines...
My wife and I are serving as full time missionaries in Paraguay. We listen to your podcasts every week. Many times I’ve said to myself that I wished there was a way I could share this with some of our nonmember friends down here. We’re so excited to hear about the new podcast in Spanish. The only problem I cannot find it. How do we find it? We have friends who need to listen to this week’s podcast.
Come on guys. Knowledge in any subject is bottomless!!! Infinite!!! Steven Hawkins said the human brain is not capable of taking in all the knowledge there is in any field. Not enough brain cells. God's knowledge is infinite. We're not going to get there in this life.
I have to ask. Why are all the next week lessons so hard to find? We study early in the morning and so I set things up the Friday before and it takes me so much time to find the lesson, is there a easy way to find these studies coming up?
How can anyone in our church, obtain a testimony of Joseph Smith with out first believing in the concepts of the Book of mormon. How can anyone in our church have this testiomony unless he has been endowed with the converting power of the Holy Ghost. then let them who have been babtized with fire. feel the first fruits of the Gospel. then if they continue holding on to the sourse of this fire. he can no wise deny the divinity of the Prophet Joseph Smith.
I love the Prophet Joseph Smith because he has introduced me to the true character of our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ.
I agree❤ Happy New year everyone.
100% agree. I am a convert of 4 decades and one of the chief things that converted me was Joseph Smith receiving the knowledge of the true character of our Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus the Christ.
Thank you for NOT STOPPING these podcasts!!! 😊❤🎉
Being a new member, I am so grateful for these posts. I really enjoy them. I love the church and I love the gospel. I am also so thankful for Joseph Smith and for President Nelson. Happy Holidays! ❤
Please stay strong. The Church really is true!

Yeaaah Tyler Griffin on Follow Him! Wahooo! I'm so excited for the Doctrine and Covenants this year
"Heavenly Father I need help. I need to know what I need to know so that I can do what I need to do so that I can become what I need to become". Wow 🙌🏽
beautifully put... rock on 2025!🎆🎇
Tyler feels like a part of the family! Love all of you, and am glad that I can follow you again this year! Thank you! ❤🇨🇦
I love this, thank you 🥰

I could have written this post, because I feel the same way. :0))
By their Fruits not by their roots! I adore this! 😁
My first New Year Gospel journal entry.
I'm sooo excited to restart and learn so many more things. Thank you for continuing and sharing! You have no idea how your podcast has enriched my life! Thank you!
Good to see you 3 teaching together again. Thank you for everything you do to further the work of the Lord.

I love all the podcasts but 3 of my favorite peole to start off the doctrine and convenants 2025. It's gonna be good!
I am so grateful that you are continuing on after four years. I have learned so much these past four years and was so worried that you would stop when finished with each book of scripture. Thank you so much for continuing to have such wonderful guests come on and teach us with you two.
So beautiful ❤️ I love knowing that I can find the perfection of my Savior by looking vertically.
yes!
Aw 3 of our favorites!! We also love Jared H!!! Thank you all!! We are ever grateful for sharing your testimonies!! ♥️

So many wonderful “sermons in a sentence” to think about in this episode. I’m back for round two. I really love it when that happens.
Thank you for continuing on!! I am excited for another year of study.

Dr Griffin is soft spoken. This will be a great year in the D&C!
Love Tyler Griffin! I”m enjoyed his teachings for many years and thank you for this follow HIM podcast.
I have a grandsons serving in Mexico, Texas and one st the MTC. It’s wonderful to have them serving Jesus Christ and difficult to see them leave.
Thank you very much for everything ❤

I appreciate and love the way you 3 tech and testify,as a newly called bishop,I love you learning from you brothers,el evangelio es verdadero.
I love the words - My Purpose in Life is to get my Story Straight :)
And remembering that we are only responsible for planting and maintaining the seeds of truth in our children and not their choices. Sometimes even our best efforts- especially noticed by the Lord when we are under extreme duress- don't bear the fruit we hoped to see.
No matter how many temples are announced, we still have our goal to visit all of them. 58 done so far! Many more wonderful locations to go.🥰🤗🥰
Dr. Tyler Griffin was such a great guest. H e shared some great insights.
God loves me!! Thank you!! Awesome lesson!!❤❤
Thank you all of you for loving the Lord so much so as to dedicate your lives to sharing HIS glory...GOOD NEWS, GOOD NEWS!!!
Jesus is the restorer. Never let's go.
Our kids just spent a week doing baptisms at every temple in Utah. Like you guys said, it's bot that easy anymore!😂❤

Tyler is awesome, so humble
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone
Merry Christmas to you 😊
🎉 Oh my goodness, how packed full this episode was! 🎉 And, I'm only halfway through! I generally wait until I listen to both parts before I comment, but I could not withhold myself.
There are so many things that I loved about this discussion that we've had (I included myself there, as I felt so welcomed). First of all, I love that you had Tyler Griffin on! Also, thank you for including so much of the Book of Mormon, in this episode. As I want to read from it daily, I struggle somewhat on the years where it isn't our text. So, thanks for helping me get my BOM study in for the night. 😀
The three of you very knowledgeable yet humble servants of the Lord discussed our gospel with such love of the Savior, it just filled my heart. Thank you.
Hank and John, I can never thank you enough for allowing your natural humor to come out.
Tyler, thank you for telling us your goals for the year, as they strengthened mine, which are the same.
So, in a very small nutshell I received, from this lesson, the Love of the Lord; the Holy Spirit; more insight into both the Book of Mormon and the Proclamation; and some laughs along the way 😊
Love it! :)
Maybe this year, something new can be tried. How about hosting all Come, Follow Me Podcasters in one big online devotional? That would be amazing.🎉 I love to listen to you guys because it builds my faith.
I love The Olive Tree Allegory: By their fruit Ye shall know them, not their roots❤️
Brilliant! Loving this discussion!! 🎉🥰

Thank you so much!
Am I true to the truth? Truth is truth, whether or not I believe it.
I loved your analogy of the gym! Great point!
Solid fellas yall definitely on the same frequency 💯🔥
❤❤❤
Like investments hopefully our little daily gains offset the setbacks enough that we find ourselves better overall then the year before
❤
"Acclertion" should probably be "Acceleration." 😉 Love your podcasts, espcially this series with Tyler Griffin.
"You have to have your own Sacred Grove experience," has a Catholic convert, I know this to be true.

John Bytheway, we had the same 6th grade teacher! Which elementary did you attend? (We were a decade apart.😂) Mr B was my favorite.
I have to ask. Why are all the next week lessons so hard to find? We study early in the morning and so I set things up the Friday before and it takes me so much time to find the lesson, is there a easy way to find these studies coming up?
👍
Can I request for a Podcast on how to use the Teaching in the Saviors Way Manual?
Thanks
