Greetings! Thank you for sharing this one with us. I'd be grateful, if you would provide more detail on the route (from the lake). I've done hikes in this valley - but never went up to that restaurant, as our Swiss neighbors told us the trail is a bit dangerous (apparently every year some hikers do take fatal falls on the trail up to the restaurant, although- this is probably another route (maybe a trail leading direct from the carpark, rather than from the lake, further up in the valley). Cheers!
It really is a beautiful hike. We did do the hike from the parking lot to Seealpsee, then up to Aescher. It was quite a stiff climb and the trail was damp so we were careful. If the weather is good and you are sure-footed, it really is a lovely hike and I enjoyed the food at the restaurant immensely :) You can find the part of the trail from the lake to the restaurant here: www.myswitzerland.com/en/experiences/route/hiking-and-aescher-cliff-restaurant/
OMG, I just realized the profile on the corner is not just a cute channel logo, but the actual hike profile updating as the video goes by! Super nice detail!
@@InWilderPlaces no I stayed at the Belvedere in Weissbad hoping to go there but I came in April. They were still closed when I came I was very sad... it is still on my list I will come again- now knowing they are not open all year.
Who wouldn't want lunch in a cliffside restaurant?
YES❤❤❤❤

You definitely went the best route! So much better than starting at that busy carpark. So jealous, hiking in the Alps. Sigh.
Thanks Paul - it really was a wonderful hike. It was very busy when we arrived, but the higher you go, the quieter it is ☺️
the best route is to really hike from wasserauen, to the lake and then over the mountains to the hotel, not this crappy hike.
Hermoso lugar, entiendo el porqué Jorge Luis Borges vivió en Suiza, gracias por compartir tu video. Saludos desde Cd. de México.
Muchos gracias :)
It's really beautiful! do you remember on which date you hiked this? I'm not sure when to go
Hi Diana, we went on this hike at the beginning of June last year. It will probably still be doable until October I imagine.
@@InWilderPlaces perfect, thanks :)
How did you get the little mountain line on the bottom left? it adds so much to the video :)
We trace the elevation profile of the route and use a transition to indicate what part of the video took place where :) Glad you appreciate it.
Terrific video.
Thanks, Gary 🙏
Which video camera u use? So beautiful n love the way u film :))
Thank you 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed it. I use a Sony A6600 which I take with me everywhere.
